    Check for a sharp edge on the bottom of the chamber. I used some 220 sandpaper and sanded the bottom edge of the chamber, where a feed ramp would be. It took about ten minutes and my Butler creek magazines work great now.

    Hahaha, those 50gr game-shok rounds seem to work in everything! To be honest, it's already enough using a firearm that is notoriously ammo sensitive...add to that a magazine that's also picky!
    I'll have to get a CZ 512 American, as it seems to be immune to a lot of the issues facing other semiautomatic 22 magnums.

    My son and I had the same issues with outs A22lr. After several magazine loadings (3-4) the issues went away. I guess they need a break in period.

    I have been concentrating on using Hornady 45 grain FTX and have been impressed with the bullseye accuracy at 50 yards, ( my range doesn't have 100 yds. yet). I am not impressed with the Butler Creek 25 round mags. I bought four and regret it. Wish I had bought the 10 round mags instead. The 25 round mag wants to load them skyward every time. Wish we could send them back to exchange.

    • @USMC-Sniper-0137
      @USMC-Sniper-0137 Před rokem

      BTW, I did decide to take out the 4 screws on the BUTLER CREEK 25 round mag per the instructions and split the case easily. The coil spring stays in one side( the one with the red thumb loading assist). Taking it apart served no purpose cause the problem was plastic on plastic and we are talking dimpled plastic, not smooth. If that thumb assist slide against smooth plastic, it wouldn't be so bad. While I had it apart, I did put a few drops of gun oils on both sides. With a dropper or plastic oil bottle with the metal straw will do the same with it completely assembled. Now they slide great! Maybe if someone sands down the strip of plastic where the thumb loading assist slides, it may improve some, maybe not. Do not be afraid to remove the 4 screws and open the case. Nothing falls apart.

      Honestly, not yet. I have three Ruger BX 25 mags and this Butler Creek. Of all them, only one of Ruger mags work, and it works great. None of the others do. I don't know why. I couldn't get the Butler Creek to feed at all. I got tired of it quickly and switched to another gun that day at the range. Guess I should test it with other ammo too. Thanks.

    I tried my A22 Butler Creek magazine out for the first time the other day. I had several jamming issues. Was not able to get through more than 7-10 shots without a jam. Although it was around -15 degrees outside. Hoping that it isn't going to be an issue in milder weather.

    • @MichaelBellmbell556
      @MichaelBellmbell556  Před 3 lety +3

      It was ammo dependent for me but -15 degrees.......really.....that is a good day to clean guns. That had to be a contributing factor.

      @@MichaelBellmbell556 thanks for the answer, you were right about the cleaning. My friend ran his bore snake through which made things much better. It was around -10 when I was shooting. Probably only had 5 jams out of 150+ rounds. Im an amateur shooter and now realize I definitely have to buy a bore snake and cleaning kit.

    I was looking for a pcc, but there aren't many available these days ... so it was this, the Savage A17, or the Rossi RS22M ... I ended up getting the Rossi.
    It only has 10 round magazines and no iron sights. It does have a built-in last shot hold open though, and the price is great (I paid $220). Reliability has been 100% so far with every kind of 22WMR I've thrown at it ...
    I would love the Savage, but if these 25 round magazines don't work anyway, it wouldn't have much of an advantage ...

    That A22 system in the Savage rifles is a lousy design, at least in my opinion. Before condemning that Butler Creek magazine,..I'd like to see the same cartridges used in the magazine that came with the rifle. I've had no end of trouble trying to shoot with hollow point ammo. in my rife. It would seem that the hole in the bullet catches in the loading ramp or breech area somewhere.
    Savage Arms makes good rifle,..but in this case they need to send these magazines back to the drawing board.
