    What impressed me the most with Bivol is the fact that he made Canelo fight at his(Bivol) pace - that’s what made Canel tired and the fact that Canelo made a rookie mistake by throwing everything hard to gain Bivol’s respect. Canelo over the past few years has gotten power drunk and where was his jab?!!! Bad gameplay IMO there was more to this loss than size.

    My score:
    1 - Bivol, busier, more aggressive.
    2 - Bivol, Canelo looks sluggish, especially with the right hook.
    3 - Canelo, landing the more telling blows, looks a bit bothered by the jab.
    4 - Canelo, spends a lot of time on the ropes but again lands the more telling blows.
    5 - Bivol, throwing effective flurries, standing his ground more in this round.
    6 - Bivol, controlling the distance, effective against Canelo laying on the ropes.
    7- Bivol, looks fresh, Canelo looks sluggish. Bivol backing Canelo up at will.
    8 - Canelo's best round. Throwing more straight punches, more aggressive, backing Bivol up.
    9 - Bivol, Canelo's still aggressive. but Bivol has adjusted from the last round. Fight is uneventful at center ring, but Canelo lays on the ropes and Bivol is effective.
    10 - Bivol now effective in the exchanges at center ring with the jab and 1-2. Canelo lays on the ropes, looks tired, crowd boos.
    11 - Bivol, Canelo still looks tired and is ineffective in the exchanges, when aggressive he gets caught with the counter left from Bivol, the most effective punches of the round. Canelo frustrated.
    12 - Bivol - sitting on his punches. Busier, fresher, stronger.

    Bivol Soviet Union footwork with the jab is the main thing that was getting Canelo. In all honesty when he realize he couldn’t hurt him with his strongest punches or get around his guard while being attentive to always counter strike, throw a combination, I’m pretty positive that frustrated Canelo. Also, Bivol actually isn’t a 175 fighter. He’s a actually a 168 pounder that’s just fighting at 175. Bivol came in fight night at 180 he said. Those judges also are cap Canelo only won like round 2 out of the first 4 rounds. But I’m positive since those were close rounds they just gave it to the big star. It was at a point that I thought bivol was about to stop nelo but had respected Canelo. He also didn’t fall for him when Canelo was on the ropes. What’s great is Bivol always kept it in the center of the ring and stayed calm the whole time like he was Goku lol. Bivol vs Beterbiev is more interesting than a rematch with Canelo though. Overall only thing I was shocked about was the judges almost robbed Bivol even after Bivol convincingly won it. Also, everyone saying Bivol too big mainly the Canelo fanboys, yet they didn’t say it when he beat a turn around fight from Yarde Kovalev. I guarantee if he beat Bivol they wouldn’t say that, not even mention it.

      The bigger guy has good strong legs. Balanced, unlike callum smith. This takes so much energy from Canelo, trying to hit hard to keep the bigger guy off. It's a harder wall to hit and the power is strong coming at canelo. Trying to weigh as big drained him heavy.

    Bivol does better in a ramatch. He's been in with bigger punchers than Canelo, he's already demonstrated that he can beat Canelo on the outside AND on the inside. Canelo tired down the stretch, Bivol didn't. In a rematch, Bivol will win the exchanges that are Canelo's only path to victory. A good big man beats a good small man. Weight class matters, period. It's not just that Canelo lost, Canelo was dominated, he lost nearly every round, so yes, Canelo does drop a notch P4P.
    I'm not convinced Canelo cleans out 168. Canelo should take the big money fight with Errol Spence in Dallas at 164. That's a "greatness" fight and huge payday for both fighters.

      Canelo wins rematch easy! Rewatch that fight look SUS AF! Rounds 1-4 little of 5 Canelo puts that work only to the arm no body at all! One of Canelos best tool is that right hook to the body and for some reason he avoided it. That’s why Bivol stayed fresh during that fight. Canelo ain’t trying to give GGG that payyydayyy I know that! Lol

    • @leroybrown9143
      @leroybrown9143 Před 2 lety +2

      @@manuelponce6764 bivol controlled distance and saw that punch coming every time. Bivol is too rangy for canelo. In a rematch canelo may win the same number of rounds, 3, but he will lose worse because bivol will do better in the exchanges than he did in this fight. He'll pick up exactly where he left off, beating canelo to the punch at center ring, pushing him back at will and beating him against the ropes with punch flurries.

    • @BigPat6521
      @BigPat6521 Před 2 lety

      Yes bivol has the better chance of winning a rematch. Canelo needs to change a lot. Doesn't need to be big in this fight since he already can't hurt him without setups. Needs his defense to be his main priority like when he fought jacobs. Can't lead with power like he has been recently. Counter like he does best, but it's all hard to do in a Upper weightclass, too much body for canelo to hold which will tire out. A lot he has to do where bivol has less.

    I think another problem Canelo had was throwing singular bombs instead of combinations, using punches to open up Bivol's guard before putting real heat on the shots. In addition he only used a flicking jab with no thump behind it so Bivol didn't have to respect it. Shawn, what fight were you watching? Canelo went to the several times, Bivol was smart enough to catch them with his elbows. To say that Canelo did not prepare to fight on the inside, given his body of work, sounds like a lame way to excuse Canelo for getting dominated by a skill technician. Canelo's intoxication with his own power made him a one dimensional fighter who thinks because he can move his head in a fraction of the way that Floyd does, made him a defensive wizard. Bivol showed him something different. Canelo was beaten physically & mentally. You could see the frustration in his face & the fatigue down the stretch. Bivol was my pick because I knew that his Jab & combination punching was going to be a problem for Canelo. Size was not the dominant factor in this fight Brother, sorry man! It was a clinic & I thoroughly enjoyed it!

    Bivol is a true 175lbs!!! He does not need to loose or gain weight to get to that level. He does have to hidrate or de hidrate, that’s the difference and he has been boxing sense he was 5. No drinking or smoking ever not that Canelo smokes but maybe has a drink here or there but t try hat is absolutely nothing.
    The truth is that Bivol does not have to force his body to get at that weight as others do.

    I had it Bivol at 115 and Canelo at 113
    I though it was close
    Rounds I gave to each fighter:
    Bivol : 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12
    Canelo : 1, 3, 4, 9, 11,
    Look at rounds 3,4,7,9,10 and 11. Very close rounds as far as punch stats go ,
    I felt 115-113 was good wouldn’t be surprised if it was 116-112 for Bivol
    A lot of shots weren’t connecting on both ends , to me this fight was closer than what a lot of people think .I guess a lot of people were mesmerized on the moments were Bivol was looking really good , to me Canelo wasn’t outclassed but he was outboxed enough to lose the fight
