How do companies choose which idol member to launch a solo career for? Does it have to do just with public popularity, or do company management factor in their favorite member to work with( in terms of character, professionalsim, favoritism etc) ?
it is 100% about popularity. despite the growing kpop craze globally, most groups don't sell enough albums for the company to have enough money to be picky about character and professionalism (traits each artist is already expected to have abundantly.) the company's sole mission is to profit, and they'll minimize the associated risks by going with the safest bet. usually "safest" means "prettiest," so the member who gets the most attention for their visuals is usually the front runner for a solo project (talent does matter, but is almost never the primary consideration.) exceptions to this norm are few.
Whoever they want to market the most... in other words, who has the best chance of picking up extra endorsement individual endorsement deals that they might not get from just group activities. Unless you are a BP member or IU, you aren't making enough back to justify the promotions, and unless those deals come in, you never will.
I love that lip color! also, I've seen some fans get lose-your-mind angry if the idol gives those duplicate clothing gifts to a girlfriend/boyfriend. I've seen fans turn on their idols and try to get them removed from their groups because of that "betrayal." it's pretty terrifying.

I think not(?) If you watch a lot of behind the scenes, they're gasping for breath and sometimes there are performances where they change their choreos to save energy. They are regularly screened medically too. Perhaps they are young they have more energy than those who needed enhancements. Also, some drugs might induce side effects and idols are always exhausted which grants more risks. They are properly trained to execute heavy moves in such long times. Edit: I forgot, drugs is a taboo subject in korea unlike alcohol!:)

The ex-dealer interviewed pretty much said that as long as you paid up, there were plenty of doctors and pharmacists willing to look the other way. Given the demanding schedules of K-Pop idols, it wouldn't surprise me if some turned to stimulants like Modafinil, to always be in peak form. Not to mention using sleeping pills, and sedatives, to cope with the unrelenting stress. All perfectly legal, of course, thanks to the unethical prescribing and/ or dispensing practices.
Positive thing about the stylist keeping their outfits and rotates between idols: it's less wasteful! This ensures pieces of clothing are actually worn more than once, haha. Eco-friendly?

It's funny to me ....... because the more you describe how it is with the clothes and other things that happens behind the scenes, the more it reminds me of the theater and what happens in it. where the staging looks pretty and quite neat but behind the scenes it's a chaos, the suits rotated and not very clean, makeup scattered everywhere, half the people are sweating and drying so that the makeup does not run off, and from a lengt it will look like they are very put togheter and the clothes new (they look like that because the havent been wash so the colors and delicate fabrics have not faded ) and inmaculated but if you get close it maybe smelling bad 😬 ..... but anyway I think that is common in the entertainment industry, nothing is that much glamorous.

HELPFUL TIP: blue color of font was too light / washed out making it difficult to read hangeul with lots of strokes like 출근길 which I wanted to look up (commute / on way to work). Some of us are slowly trying to learn Korean and some hangeul can be hard to read on screens. Font size was fine for me watching on bigger screen but color made for a bit of eye strain. interesting video, I just hope that Lisa's horrible green dress from start of THE SHOW livestream concert was destroyed afterwards -- when a BLACKPINK member gets an ugly stage outfit it's unfortunately usually my ult. bias Lisa. I know her members have said she's the one who can pull off any style, but nobody could make that dress work.

Ironically, the outfits were in fact for sale, or more accurately, for rent.
HYBE has a whole floor for storage, their idols wardrobe seems to be partly custom made and the rest high end
