Fun fact: When looking around as Unknown, in the Survivor's perspective, only the head is moving while the body is stationary, even when his head is turned all the way around. This makes slow turns to a Survivor even more menacing than any other Killer imo.

Great now I wanna play as the scary unknown. Where you get rid of your terror radius and just walk around instilling terror into the survivors.
I think it's so when in a chase and feel the need to teleport away to a Hallucination. maybe to chase another survivor or a gen needs your attention, you don't give a huge tell to where your going like your playermodel turning to the direction your teleporting to. This is good info to relay to teammates in survive with friends.

@@LongClawzHidden Myers is just a straight up menace lmao, he invaded the Entity's realm just because it stole Laurie, and mocks it by killing survivors with his own hands (and knife) instead of sacrificing them
Which would also make sense as to why he chooses to still speak with all his calls for help, he's not happy that the Entity stole him away so I think that's his way of trying to rebel against it is trying his usual tactics of luring his victims and killing them quietly even though he can see it doesn't work like that in the fog.
Fun fact: he is now the second killer that closes a locker door instead of slamming it. The first being pyramid head
Also he's the second killer that carries survivors under his arm instead of over. The first being Nemesis.

Maybe if it changed poses when going for the more twisted ones, something like that Japanese woman with knives in the style of Silent Hill. What we see in the video looks like a Barbie doll twisted by a child thrown into the oven. Overall, for me, the whole DBD is already recycling the same stuff, and the number of killers has turned into spam, garbage, too much of it and too little diversity. Collaborations like Iron Maiden and the overall direction DBD is going in are slowly wasting away the style that developers have built over the years@@ebeeee

Minimal actual personal Lore and nonsensical voicelines.
It’s just perfect.
Not nonsensical, all of it's voice lines are requests for help or attempts to lure.
"Is this your dog?" "Help! I need.. help!" "Can you help me move this?"
The voice lines are a great concept but are too distorted to be audible
the whole point of his lore is that he's a cryptid or urban legend, nobody knows anything concrete, hence the name "unknown".
the voices aren't nonsensical, theyre the voices of those he's killed that he uses to lure others

The most unsettling killer by far imo it's a really great design but so many people are hating because they wanted something different

Lowkey wish he didn’t have the axe. He’s terrifying but I think they could have played up his unorthodox attacking methods without it. Especially given how revealing his Mori is.
I think they trying to portray him as some sort of Mimic who desperatly Tries to come off has human but fails, you see that in every Animation of him
It would've been cooler if his attacking animation was him breaking his arm so a sharp bone ripped through his skin to stab the survivors. Then it wound quickly snap back into place like nothing happened, playing into the body horror aspects of the character as well as giving him a more unique attack animation. As opposed to using a weapon, their bare fist or some magic like majority of the cast.

The way it moves makes me feel like The Unknown kind of vaguely understands the concept of a human and how a human is supposed to move.

Omg now i know why it seemed vaguely like something I've seen recently... Whild Blue Yonder Doctor Who episode with 2... unkown things that try to copy people but then are like "Humans have 2 knees right? 2 on each leg?" - proceeds to break leg to have 2 knees
That's the idea
I love that what little lore is shown to you just on the killer selection, it's like a creepy pasta. Like, the older ones. It has simple rules. You summon it, you die. And to summon it, you have to attempt to define it. It is, after all, Unknown. It cannot be known. To give it form, to force it to have a shape even in your imagination, makes it show up just to make you stop. Or so it would seem, seeing as the moment it got summoned, it ALSO got pulled into all of this and, as the description said, sounded _distressed._ Didn't want that.
It's not just Unknown. It's Unknowable. I like the simplicity.

this is such a beautiful decision, cause when you get grabbed, you're looking behind the killer so you can see the animation. the perfect place for the unknown to look DIRECTLY AT YOU

This killer love breaking the forth wall it’d like he is almost looking at the player
Soooo, in the menu they made an animation of him running on all fours, and in the gameplay he walks on two legs, such a missed opportunity. It would cause me more discomfort to look at him running on all fours, while hes breaking his body. Also, I can't get rid of the association that he stole clothes from Peter Griffin.
Well there was a good chunk of players saying xeno was unfair because he’s harder to see on all fours now imagine that but without the tail sticking out and mfs would’ve lost it i also doubt the killer pov would be good

it seems he does it intentionally to mimic humans but it's hard for him if you notice when he vaults or brakes something or in the mori he tends to fall on his knees or crawl

Really? This guy looks more look he's heavily inspired from John Carpenter's The Thing with all the effects and how he grotesquely moves his body about. I haven't looked into his lore but if his mori tells me anything when he absorbs a survivor that's taken straight from The Thing.
the unknown's character design reminds me so much of the crooked man. Especially the eyes, smile and neck. I always wondered why he looked so familiar
He moves around like a zombie he is scarier than dredge he has an absolutely nightmarish voice

I would say splicer and necromorph more really, he reminds me of a Divider
I was thinking the same, like Baby Jane in Bioshock 2. He also looks kind of like the joy mutants from LISA or something from Little Nightmares.
Props to the Mocap guy who broke all 206 bones in his body for this new monster 👌
im not sure if anyone remembers this game but markiplier played it, it was called "The Crooked Man" I think this killer should get his outfit he already looks deeply like him and that was the first horror game that honestly gave me nightmares over 1 scene with a character named sissy it wasnt that we saw her die but i think it was her screams and the whole scene itself that made me afraid to have my back towards a door closed or open
i kinda wish it'd lose his red light stain outside of chase, so you could screw with survivors better, having them run up to a clone and....whoops. Be even better if they had an animation for it where it grabs their wrist, laughs and then throws them over it's shoulder.

That's a whole perk slot for a gimmick though, that's lame. I still think they should give killers five perks but make one of em just like...a fun perk that doesn't really do much but add a little bit of flair. (like 1 out of five star perks) Don't know how they'd do it, but....yeah, i'm NEVER giving up one of my four perks for anything less than "pretty good." well, on survivor i might. DEFINITELY not killer though. @@blueboy1958
oh wait, were you just TELLING me about insidious? sorry if i misunderstood. Yeah i love insidious when i'm just goofing around. I mean some killers i would argue that it's pretty stankin good, just....feels lame to only use perks on certain killers. As trapper you can use it to place traps and then slap survivors when they go to disarm, teleporting killers you can just take little breaks by generators to draw survivors who think you're gonna teleport away, spirit you can pretend to phase (if they don't know how to check, unluckily every survivor is a god.) Leatherface can do.....horrible things. @@blueboy1958

I love the design of Unknown more than anything else so far. But his power just feels kind of forced. Purple grenade??? Why?? They couldn’t have just given him a huge speed boost and creepy walk cycle for his power? I feel that with a design like this simple horror is your best friend.
Don't get me wrong, the grenade is the wrong power for this guy, but there's like 7 or 8 dashing killers already.
The Devs must’ve been taking notes from MeatCanyon to add some creep factor with the The Unknown here

The way it twitches all over and cocks its head, or straight up twists it 180 degrees reminds me of an owl searching for mice. They devs perfectly conceptualized the movement and character of a predatory animal.

At first I was a little thrown off by his looks but now that Ive realized hes an homage to the Edgar suit I'm loving him. It's actually such a neat little pairing with analog horror, although I'm sad that we don't get a more genre-stereotypically messed up face. I kinda like the super stretched mouths and vacant stares, even if they were overplayed.

It looks and moves exactly how I imagine Michael Afton does after getting scooped at the end of Sister Location.
