The second secret room is a reference to Dante's inferno (the book that 30% of the revelations mode is loosely base off of). Essentially, each sarcophagus holds a leader who leads his followers into oblivion. While in the book, they mainly focus on two different popes who did less than... savory acts to their peers. They are laying down on the sarcophagi, while a roaring fire erupts from its walls, and outside. The large statue of Satin is also a reference to said book, as in Dante's inferno, The devil sits in a frozen lake at the exact center of hell.
Also the first one is a reference to Dante's Inferno. In fact Satan (or Lucifer to be accurate) is representated accurately, because it says "Lo ’mperador del doloroso regno da mezzo ’l petto uscìa fuor de la ghiaccia", that in english means "The King of the Painful Realm (Satan is the King of Hell) got out of the ice up from the hips", so also the first one is a Dante's reference No need to thank me! ___ __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ \/ 🤓
I am using a translator I think, one that room appears because The Lost is a sin of Isaac, in the true ending of the original game, Isaac leaves behind all his versions where he ends up dead, he is cured of his sins, but however, in Revelations, Isaac is in purgatory, fighting to go to heaven, but by choosing The Lost, you condemn him, because if Isaac went there because of his narcissism (thinking that all the problems were his fault) The Lost represents how Isaac feels guilty in being the reason why his mom wants to kill him (you can see it in the transitions to the other floor, The Lost stays on the roof and talks to the floor to reveal that he was talking to Mom as "god"), so when you're The Lost, ISaac only goes to hell because he does not overcome his sin and that is why Satan appears in the first special room Of the second I have no idea but this is my interpretation
I think the room and stages overall represent 9 circles of hell but backwards. First stage is cocytus, frozen lake that is the ninth circle punishing treachery. In secret room we see satan, who is frozen halfway in the center of the circle, just like in divine comedy. I'm not sure what second stage represents, but secret room here corresponds with the punishment in the sixth circle of heresy, where heretics are trapped in a fiery tomb.
Maybe the other room represents isaac being stuck in heaven as thev6 pieces of furniture represent somethong like coffins the theme of lost and fire burning out of them representing being stuck in hell
@@Sleepster-NA I think you can get a better interpretation than mine, I haven't read the divine comedy so I'm not so sure But with the context you have given me it could be that they are inviting The Lost to enter the tomb, after all, there is an open one and purgatory was made so that souls could redeem their sins, so you could say that the more we play with The Lost the further away it is from being "forgiven", consequently the open tomb
that is a fucking genius way of integrating high risk high reward into the vanity shop, as you can pay 1 vanity to get a white fire and i was confused what was the purpose, but this explains it
@@adversary777 tried this with a mod character called the punished and he melts them down very quickly. No, it is not a take no hits thing. it's something to do with the lost
uh both those rooms have 6 bodies in them and 7 if you count isaac, so when there is a third by the time of carrion then it should be for the funny numbers but these rooms likely have some puzzle with them though I cannot think what would be solutions however if the 6 is the ice room are not random and always those 6 then the puzzle may be dying the way they did as a reference to the original lost unlock method requiring several specific deaths? there are also three ice spikes likely to denote glacier as the third layer of hell.
i don't know what causes this but it's happened to me too before where i try to record the game and somehow it records the music with no sound effects. very strange
What was the music you used for the video? I am dying to know what that remix, mashup, whatever it is is called! Also just to mention I played revelations myself and didn’t hear it, so some help with finding it would be nice. Edit: I found it.
Think it's just a tie in to the mirrors between revelations and the ones in repentance, how if you go in there as the lost and beat the boss again you get a bonus item

Sadly none of the corpses had hats to indicate who they were like a fez
How do you guys know that?
@@adversary777 Being italian I am forced during high school to read the whole Divine Commedy, so, yeah...
you can get whitefire in the prank shop to get on those rooms as any character.
Ahhhhh, I was wondering why there is an Narcissus chest that spawn White fire
The tomb fire smelts all ur trinkets
Thank you for teaching me
@Gemyon I have already made this video about the reworked blighted ovum
@Gemyon Good point, on my todo list!
In the tomb one, the open casket can actually be used to gulp trinkets for free!
(Thats why 3 trinkets spawn in that room)
I didn't know, thanks for the tips
Omg these rooms look amazing! The fact they spent a bunch a time to make and perfect rooms that a ton of people won’t even discover is incredible!
Just like the Fiend Folio devs, they love do things that people will never see
Its makes seeing them that much better
I am using a translator

I just picked up coins who belong to the pharaoh and this proves that The Lost is greedy

possibly could be "take no hits, get a reward" kind of deal
Just fight Narcissus or Narcissus II and you'll see that this is almost impossible
@@adversary777 first narcissus is incredibly easy, the second one however is unfair
It's an all or nothing boss

On the second room, you can consume trinkets touching sarcofag while holding trinket

the song is mirror mirror on the floor
sorry for you having to wait so long
Wow, the first secret mirror room is like the underside of the reverse Satan Glacier room
Had the exact same thought.
Revelations was the repentance before repentance
cool tho
can u show the mod that you spawned pickups???
It is Da Rules. You would like a presentation in video?
beating narcissus 2 as lost and not even getting an item sounds unfair
you get trinkets that you can smelt, which is basically getting an item
Wait, for real?
what mod menu do you use?
Da Rules
That cool also song?
Revelations Chapter 2 OST - Narcissus Rising
@@adversary777 thank You

free devil item?
