2002 Lexus RX300 Antenna replacement and fix

This is the second time I’m changing this antenna because the first one I bought it was cheaper and broke after three weeks then I decided to buy one from the dealer but it was so expensive (over $170). That’s why I bought another cheap one, but this time I unplugged the motor to stop the antenna from going up and down every time and kept up all the time.

Thanks for taking the time and sharing this. Very helpful.
For those of you leaving it permanently UP like in this video, just be sure to avoid automated carwashes which can break/snap the antenna. Personally, I hand wash, so Ill be leaving it permanently up as well (which also looks cool 😁)

I followed step by step and success! Took me about 90 min total but I took my time to do it right. The only thing is the oem antenna I bought does not go all the way in, maybe sticking out 3 inches. But it works! I'll play with it to see if it will go all the way down. Thank you!
