Inline lead setup: How to tell the difference between a liner and a dropped take

When you're carp fishing, one of the challenges you come across is telling the difference between a big liner and an aborted take. You know the sort of thing: there you are, patiently waiting for a carp to pick up your bait, and all of a sudden you get a flurry of beep or maybe even the tip starts to nod and you think you're in! You're sure the lead has moved and rushing to the rod you enthusiastically strike into what to expect to be a great big carp but actually turns out to be fresh air. Using a carp rig with the grinner knot, this little technique will be useful to both beginners and seasoned carp anglers and will help you understand what happened.

Cool, glad you like. Just make sure that the lead is set just loose enough on the sleeve so that it's drops easily but not so easily that it doesn't impart the full weight of the lead to set the hook.
