Sometimes it can take years for recognition and fame...and I do think she will eventually get to that spot soon and I can tell that she has improved on her acting skills over the years and she has showed some signs of showing herself a little more to the public eye by being in the present of much popular actors and actresses in her recent films which is a good sign. When the pandemic is completely over we will see more of her...and I know a lot of her fans including myself want her to play a Marvel character which she would be brilliant at doing along with her great martial arts and acting.

Her real name and surname in Ukrainian are Kateryna Vinnytska. And I'm not surprised why she is so beautiful and about Nordic connection. Modern Ukrainians descended from Kievan Rus (Gårdarike) - medieval feudal state ruled by Vikings (Varangians) for centuries. Rus were Varangians who came from north along the Dnieper river and, after bloody wars, conquered and united under the rule local Slavic tribes of Drevlians, Polians ans Severians on the territory of modern Ukraine. Byzantian chronicles described the raids of "Rus people" from Konugard ("city of king", modern Kyiv (Kiev), capital of Ukraine) to Constantinople in 9-10th centuries. The trade treaties between Byzantia and Rus of 10th century preserved a lot of names of "Rus people" - they all were Scandinavians. But a fun fact is that Varangians have already signed their swear (varang) on those treaties by Perun and other Slavic pagan gods at that time (the same case was with Vikings in Britain, Normandy, Sicily etc. - they were assimilated and took language and culture of local peoples). Till 12 century Varangians of Rus were totally "slavinizated" but also had a great impact on the culture of the Eastern Slavs which is still preserved in Ukrainian mythology, old folk songs, folk costumes pre-Christian customs and traditions, loan-words in language including names etc. (as well as in Belarus and Russia). For example, such modern personal names in Ukraine as Olga (from Helga), Oleg (from Helg), Igor (from Ingvar), Alla etc. have obvious Nordic origin from Rus times. Old folk tales still preserve the names of the first Varangian warlords of Kiev - Askold and Dir (there is still an old place in Kiev called "Askoldova mogila" - Askold's grave). Askold was killed by Helg (Oleg in Slavic adoption) from Rurikid dynasty in 882 (thus Rurikids bacame ruling dynasty in Rus and made Kiev (Konugard) its capital). Rurikids also ruled in Moscowia till 17th century. But "Rus" is not Slavic word. It came to Slavs from neighboring Finnic and Baltic tribes in the north who met Varangians earlier. Finns called and still call Swedes as "Routsi" (from old Norse "rowing a boat"). So "Rus" was a Slavic name for Varangians. Varangians were warlords elite so "Rus" became the name of their realm and then the name of their state among Slavs. BTW "Rusyn" (transl. "Rus' people", or Ruthenian in Latin adoption) is the first name of all Ukrainians which was used till 20th century and is still used in many parts of Ukraine as equal name, especially in archaïc Western Ukraine where Katheryn's parents are from (in Polish passports Ukrainians were marked as "Rusyn" till 1939). So Ukrainians are Slavs, but with hard Nordic influence from the past. If not to mention that early Slavs (Venedi) assimilated the remains of a lot of Germanic tribes on the territory of modern Ukraine during migration in 2-4 centuries AD (part of Vandals of Przeworsk arch. culture in Western Ukraine, Goths of Wielbark and Cherniakhov arch. cultures in northern and central Ukraine, Bastarnae etc.).
@@TheOlgaSasha that’s interesting, but you missed one part - where current territory of Ukraine 2 centuries ago was a war zone between Russland and Ottoman Empire and Crimean warlords. So Ukrainians have influence from turkic people as well. You can clearly see that if you visit Ukraine, there are some people who have specific light tan and non-fully-Slavic appearance.

But according to DNA searches modern ethnic Ukrainians have not more than 2% of typically Turkic DNA markers, mostly in eastern Ukraine (from times of Great Khaganate of Khazaria reprezented in eastern Ukraine by Saltovo-Mayak.arch. culture). Khazaria was destroyed by Rus in 9th century. Also Slavs on the territory of modern Ukraine assimilated some not numerous remains of Scythian and Sarmatian population (most of Scythians and Sarmatians (Alans and others) migrated to Pannonia and Balkan provinces of Roman Empire with Goths). In times of Mongol invasion to Rus (1240-1362) there were no turkic admixture, because Mongol society structure was always very closed and never intermixed with local population. Nowadays dark hair and dark-eyed people are mostly concenteated in Ukrainian Carpathian mountains, along the Dniester river and Bucovina (Geto-Dacian substrate on the border lands with Romania and Moldova). Ukrainians (Rusyn) always lived northward from the steppe zone in South Ukraine and called that steppe as Dyke Pole (transl. "Wild Field"). So Ukrainians never lived in Dyke Pole before 18 century (except Ukrainian cossack warriors who lived in Zaporozhian Sich lands since 16 century). The border of the steppe goes southward from the line "Podilsk - Kropivnitsky - Poltava - Kharkiv". There are no Turkic names or cultutal loans from Turkic cultures in Ukrsine, except some loan trade words borrowed from Turkic language (because Slavs had a trade with Turks as their neighbours). In 18th century Slavic colonization of Dyke Pole started in times of Russian Empire when Turkic tribes and peoples left South Ukraine (except Crimea). Besides, Russian empire also invited a lot of other peoples to settle in those steppe lands: Russians, Jews, Germans, Greeks, Bulgarians, Serbs, Volga Tartars and other nations of Russia etc. which still live in south Ukraine (they are Ukrainian citizens but not of Ukrainian ethnicity and a lot of them returned to their native lands nowadays). Crimean Tartars have always been living in Crimea (autochtonous population). It's also worth to mention that after WW2 Crimean Tartars, 1 mln. of Ukrainian Germans and part of Greeks were deported to Kazakhstan. So nowadays Kazakstan with 20 mln. of population has almost 0,7 mln. German minority (many of them returned or try to return to Germany). So Ukrainians are only 73% of population of Ukraine. Ukrainians are mostly concetrated in Northern, Central and Western Ukraine (more than 90% of population).

I did TKD from age 16-20, and had personally high requirements and nothing was ever even good enough. It broke all and I have since been depressed about it for now close to 13 years. My mother told me I was a phenomenon, but such tellings never helped any. Now I posses nothing but anger.
If you were born and grew up in Canada, then you're actually a second generation immigrant! I'm also second gen, so I understand the confusion. I didn't learn the difference until I took a linguistics class in college that broke it down. On the other hand, if you were born in Canada, but grew up first in Ukraine, you could probably call yourself 1.5 generation. That refers to people who immigrated as children. First generation normally refers to those who were born in another country and then immigrated. My mom is first gen. She moved here when she was 17.
