How To Grow On Twitch in 2021
As I start to move into the year and see all of the different changes happening to space, I think the ability to grow on Twitch in 2021 is going to entirely come down to networking and collaborating.
The rules I explained last year to growth will always be the core to creating an audience and a community, but once you have that mixing that community with others and growing together will go a long way.
If two people both have 5 viewers raiding each other can do a lot to help boost each other's average up, if 15 - 20 people are all sitting around 5 and you make great content and network the same concept but it happens on a larger scale.
The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.

hi
The third, donât know who they are yet but I think theyâll do it good.
The 3rd and 5th advice I would say helped me a lot personally , definitly something newer streamers should try for their own streams
Elway. The streamers i found most helpful was metalfear4 and crez I can be found at twitch.tv/MalcontentRobot. #owned3d
Your content is GOLD man. Every video helps my thinking and application. Great stuff
Shout-out to eljay for spending HOURS replying to these comments. Shows how much dedication you really need.
Just doing my best, I went to bed so Iâve got a lot to catch up too!
Today is exactly 2 months since i started streaming , i never told anyone (not even my friends hahaha) and i never shared my stream anywhere (except my Instagram fanpage) . I started from scratch and i got viewers just by being Live on Twitch , Currently im on 15avg viewers and im successfully building amazing active friendly Community and im growing day by day because i learned so much from Your videos guys , i cant thank you enough for you amazing work , hope you guys all doing great in Your personal lifes , - With Love Dominik from Slovakia â€ïžđžđ°
Sounds like you're smashing it! Seriously, keep it up! :) #earlygang
Share your stream, would like to take a look if it's cool with you.
Howâs it going now?
Thatâs awesome man! Iâm doing the same:) just started 2 days ago:)
i been streaming for 2 weeks by now and Im at 22 followers and get around 4-6 views a stream. Its nothing big but at least its something
Thanks so much for having me again Eljay!! I hope you all enjoyed the tips!
Always love having you on, especially when MetalGandalf made an appearance in this one!
i have been streaming for around 10 months, and im so thankful to you, for helping me! you deserve 1million for such amazing tips!
Hey that is very nice of you to say! I really do just hope the videos help! #earlygang!
I had hit a plateau with my stream and the last tip really stuck with me. I haven't been doing much to foster a community off stream. Recently I revamped my discord, set up movie nights. I get such warm feelings when viewers say hi to each other during a stream instead of just watching only for me. Thank you for all the insanely motivational tips, here's to hoping that 2021 will be the year I finally overcome my plateau :)
Good luck, Peach! You got this :)
My friend raided me during none of my streams with a high number, and helped me hit affiliate. Those friends have been lurking and helping me out, so more people have also been finding me. I used to sit at 2 avg viewers, with one of them being me on my phone, but after I got my pc, started networking, making friends, and am now sitting at 5 average viewers starting at 3 last week. Your tips have definetly helped, and my favorite tip is networking. Lots of people do it, but if you do it correctly, then you can grow insanely
Hey I am glad you've had success! That is great to hear! :) #earlygang!
Honestly Eljay, I just started my streaming journey and I'm glad to have caught your videos early on. I made many beginner mistakes but quickly fixed them thanks to your advice so big thanks you my g!
You got this, John! :) Even if you hadn't found me I am sure you'll keep smashing it! #earlygang!
6 ways ikonic joined the notification squad.
Been 3 months and I finally cracked that 15 viewer average. I would like to thank you wholeheartedly as this channel had taught me ALOT of things A-Z stream related. Thanks Jay and team!
Wow, thank you! Sounds like you're on your way, keep it up! Nothing to do with us, it's just your own hard work!
This all sounds like really specific advice. I really appreciate the quality content, no fluff, no bs, no generic advice. Really quality growth tips. Gracias!
Hope it helps! :) Thanks for the positive comment! It means a lot!
Eljay is literally the best he is so genuine and answers everyoneâs questions. Keep on creating I canât wait to see how far you go
Not the best, just doing my best :) hope the video helped!
Consistency, content, and community, all of these are important. Each of these is mostly or entirely dependent on the streamer or the community. How much depends on time and effort. Some want to create good content and others do or find, different ideas they start liking on the path of their growth. It will take different amounts of time, but it all matters how much consistent effort you put in and enjoy it at the same time. That's one mark of a great streamer. I can tell all the streamers here are all amazing content creators in their way. Yet, all of them, as Eljay mentions, make their content and their place unique and engaging. Shoutout to Crescentine đLove your content! Love your community! Mad respect to Eljay for managing all of this
What a great comment! Thanks Jae! I really appreciate the kind words, and the insight! :)
Hey Eljay, your videos and advice have definitely helped me grow my Twitch stream within the past few weeks. I started to stream seriously since January and slowly building my own community. These were all things that several months ago I would have never have thought possible. I seriously can't thank you enough of how helpful your videos have been as my steady growth on Twitch has brought me absolute joy. I look forward to your next video!
Warm regards,
Phanto, head of the Starry Explorers
Great to hear! That has nothing to do with me though! Entirely from your own hard work mate! :) Really happy for you!
Solid advice from everyone in this video. It's funny how i found this on a day that I'm dwelling over CZcams algorithm, and just realized, from this video, that I'm actually doing BETTER on Twitch. Thank you. You're the best!
I cannot thank these videos enough, I am now starting to break that 15-20 average viewers thanks to you! You deserve more subscribers!
Congrats Hazza! Thatâs so awesome man! Keep it up! :)
Your vids rock man! thanks so much. Ive pondered through the majority of em now and have absorbed so much. Gradually growing and will continue to follow to keep up to date with this epic database of info.
Just started streaming recently and thanks to Eljay I have seen more success in 1.5months than some of my friends have gotten in years because they think "grinding" thru it will lead to success. Eljay you're an absolute life saver!
I just started streaming last week and your videos have really helped me jumpstart my streams. much love and thank you for being an inspiration to finally jump into doing this like ive talked about for years
slowly learning so much from your videos. advice I never even thought of to ask lol, THANK YOU
Great tips! Thanks for the content!
Eljay looks like he gives the best hugs.
I read this to my wife and she said, âitâs true!â Hahaha
Awesome video, Eljay! Thanks for letting me be apart of it again! One piece of advice, I didn't have time for was learning to talk to yourself out loud. Nobody wants to come into a twitch channel with dead silence from the streamer.
Woah woah! Save the tips for next time ;) hahaha always a pleasure having you on, comments seem to think so as well!
I've learned more in the past couple weeks watching your content than i have in the past year researching things! Keep doing the good work!
Thanks Burp! Iâll do my best to keep it up!
this helped alot thanks for the in detail video!
Your videos are coming out at the perfect times for me lol, I just reached affiliate the other day after starting from scratch two months ago, and now I'm working on building up even more!
Hey Iâm glad hahaha weird how they time well hey?!
I've been streaming for over 3 months now and just started getting a few veiwers this week and im so excited. Eljayem do you ever do streams with other streamers I would love to meet you online and chat for a bit! Love the vid btw
I am so nervous to do collab streams still! I act all confident but I am still learning as well! I have some stuff planned in the future though! Thanks for the support as well, I am glad to hear you are getting viewers! #earlygang
Eljay! (i know this has nothing to do with the video but i just wanted to tell you) My mic arm finally came in! Bye bye tripod XD
Thank god! hahahaha
Great vid as always. I may start a Discord soon. I am seeing that some peoples that come to my channel like to make questions about the game. Might be good to have a place where people can come 24/7 and ask their things. Thanks for the push!
This channel has helped me so much, I recently became a twitch affiliate and I hit 100 followers in 2 weeks!! Your video are definitely one of the reasons for my fast growth :0
Been watching you for months and while my channel has grown on Twitch I see your stuff grow as well! Feels like an amazing community to be a part of!!
That's awesome! I am glad you're seeing growth man! Seriously, absolutely fantastic! :) Hope to keep making content for everyone!
@@StreamScheme Thank you!! and please keep making these vids!!
Subbed solid info I definitely took notes
these videos make me so happy. I feel like I am on the right path I just need to keep learning and having fun and with careful planning I will be able produce some great content. I am very patient, just enjoying this journey.
I started streaming on twitch for fun from my Xbox due to the UK going into its second lockdown, and found out I actually really enjoy it. I don't get much attention but I'm looking forward to growing in the future thanks to your tips and tricks :) Appreciate it đ
That's awesome! Hope you enjoy the journey!
This really helped, I have been trying to grow more on Twitch :)
Elijay I appreciate you brother you have helped me get started in the streaming world!
There's so much great advice in this! Thanks again for allowing me to take part
Any time! It was great having you be involved! :)
Your channel has helped my grow on twitch. Just want to say thank you for all the help :)
Thanks Cregan, honestly I am so glad! It's all you man, you and your hard work! #earlygang!
Been watching your vids for a while bro and taking tips, only recently started avg over 15+, thank you king đ
Congrats! You're smashing it :) Really happy for you! #earlygang!
I am not here for the giveaway, I just wanna say that I really appreciate how much you do for your community. Many people say they answer every question in the comments and so on, but youa ctually answer everything and hep others with their problems. A few weeks ago I was not sure if I should stream in German or swap to English and you helped me see the pros and cons from another perspective. Now I did chose to go for English and it is going well! That is also due to watching your videos and getting those tips, so thank you very much for helping everyone!
Hey! That's great to hear! I am glad you are seeing success, keep it up mate! And thanks for the kind words! :) You got this!
@@StreamScheme I like how you just proved my point of you caring about the community, by answering two minutes after I posted the comment haha
Thanks for the encouragement :)
I'm so happy to see how much you have grown
It is wild honestly, feels like I am dreaming hahaha
You're the best! Keep it up.
You upload at the perfect time: right as I am done with school and take a break before starting on homework.
Oh hey neat! :) #earlygang!
This channel is actually amazing I came into content creating with an idea that worked and gave me a small following Iâve now reached my watch time on CZcams and have now moved over to twitch but didnât know how I was gonna go about that after watching some of this channels vids Iâm starting to see my path so thanks. Ps. I avg at around 10 people per stream atm and around 100 views per vid
Perfect advice and awesome of you as always to provide to everyone! You are truly awesome and so are the others that provided advice as well
You're the best, Laz! Hope the video helps!
Thanks Eljay! Just started streaming about a month ago. Right now most of my community is family and friends, so any tips to grow from here is always much appreciated! :D
You can do it! Good luck, SpookyDooky! :)
@@StreamScheme Thanks dude! :)
I've been streaming for a few months now, and I've been peaking 30 viewers. I don't know if this is covered in the video (Haven't watched the video fully yet) but what I did is did many collabs with other streamers, to get strong links with them. This is what I did, and it really helps people to discover your channel through others!
(I don't mean advertise, I simply mean make sure to make friends with other streamers, so people can discover you through them!)
Eljay, I really needed this video mate, like I told you before I am pushing an average of 10/15 but it's now overcoming that milestone to push the content further. You're videos are awesome another absolute banger to watch! a solid 8/10 from me :)
Keep it up, Yin! You got this mate :)
@@StreamScheme With you as guidance, how can I fail, you improve everyone's content daily, it's great to see
Thank you for this video. Iâm new to streaming and this helped. đ
Glad it was helpful, Yelle! :)
These videos are amazing, I'm more focusing on creating youtube videos, but these ideas on audience retention, planning content, using outside search engines ect are so helpful as a creator
Have you watched my video on CZcams growth? I am really proud of it, and it covers my entire process! :) #earlygang
@Stream Scheme Yeah been watching your content for a while as I enjoy streaming on twitch, and want to make my streams better, but its more of a hobby than wanting to make it into a career, ADHD is not the one when it comes to streaming đđ Love the content, love your streams, and honestly just keep them coming
I just wanted to say Thank's I just started streaming but your advices helped me alot for making my stream better i would say. Keep on going you are helping so many People. Sensei Eljay
As always great video Eljay!!
Thanks Durner! Always good to see familiar faces in the comments :)
Love your videos!
Glad you like them! :) #earlygang!
Another great video! This one I enjoyed a lot, love to get different perspectives and practical advice!
Thanks for this one, my guy. ;)))
Hey I am really glad man, thanks for the support BootySweat! Honestly, it means a lot as always!
Hey eljay! I just found your channel and I have been binging the content for the past day, saw the new vid and had to watch. Thanks for the tips! Iâm sure they will help a lot of us smaller creators grow! Means a lot!
#own3d Twitch: HonourConZ, I liked the advice from my man cobble! It can be difficult to start out with 0 so Iâve been doing CZcams content to get permanent videos out there and get a footing
Did you check out my CZcams Growth guide as well? That is a great place to start for the old CZcams journey!
Thanks for the kind words as well! It means a lot! :)
Very good video. Thanks for the tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing video
SOOO freakin awesome man ! It is, I think, one of the best advices video for stream I have ever watch (And I've watched a lot of them) *sorry for the bad english, I'm french ^^
Great video as always
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the kindness, Cri! :) #earlygang!
Awesome. So helpful, super close to affiliate and I needed these for sure!
Glad it was helpful! Good luck mate! #earlygang!
Amazing job on this video , I coming back with gaming Streams next month. Looking forward to seeing your next video
Hope they continue to help!
grest video and i appreciate all the tips much needed for me and i hope you have a great day
Hey thanks! I hope you have a fantastic day as well!
Thanks always for the videos you really help alot! :D
Glad you like them!
Loving the new background
I'm glad!
I been streamin almost over a year.. and i have a avg of 4:) on the grind baby
I agree with this itâs very helpful I been trying to play games that my favorite creators have been playing, especially horror games
I think it's important to remember the extra context of that. Reapz played NICHE or small games that larger creators played but weren't in anymore, this allowed him to be discovered rather than hidden behind giant creators.
Thanks for sharing your support especially when youâre reasonably only person I find very excited about learning and watching your show
Your videos have helped me so much thank you! I finally made it beyond 20avg. Your Videos are the reason why this was possible! THANK YOU
That is entirely because of your own hard work, I appreciate the kind words but successful people will be successful with or without video guides like mine :) Give yourself all the credit, nobody else!
Congrats on smashing it! :)
@@StreamScheme Thank you â„
That video had a perfect timing. I'm building my core viewers right now.
Hope these give you some inspiration! #earlygang let's go! :)
@@StreamScheme i try to use all the tips i can get but it's hard to find a good niche in a niche. hahaha love the vids btw.
I really like ur background in lives one of my favourite
one of the best content creators in my opinion its too bad you only upload once a week though, but it makes sense the videos are probably hard to make.
Trying to get to multiple a week :) but I donât want to sacrifice quality for quantity! Thanks for the kind words!
My personal favourite is the person who has 5 subs because it really says with the dedication and just a small audience you can go a far way!
Keep up the good videoâs!
Thanks Haski! I appreciate the support man! Both here and over on twitch :) it means a lot!
I'm SwanzoX on Twitch and my channel has been taking off lately. Your advice has been a great help, thanks for putting these videos up.
Glad to hear it! Keep it up, good luck!
#owned3d
Plexeti on twitch
Chris advice was best, about encouraging offline interactions.
Nice video mane!!
sheezz great video as always
Thanks mate! :) I really appreciate the kind words! #earlygang
hey eljay,
sticking to a schedule is something that popped up in this video again and that you also put so much emphasis on. But what if one really cannot stick to a schedule because of work?
thanks alot, I really appreciate your Vids
Just have to do your best to be as consistent as possible, but an external platform like a CZcams channel or other social media that allows to share content and be discovered will be important to help ease that inconsistency and keep your growth up.
You have no idea at all how much this helps, I appreciate you soooooo much. I still have no mic but I am SOOO prepared to be a hit when I get one. P.D do you think i'll be able to grow even tho i am a bit of a kid still and have a squeaky voice????
this guide is gonna help me!
I really hope it does! #earlygang
#own3d Solid advice, I've been playing Hades for almost a month and have picked up some consistent viewers, moving to another game soon which I have announced to them, and most are keen to jump over to it too! The advice from Reapz about being a variety streamer but sticking with the game for about a month or so is right. I've stopped watching some smaller streamers because every week they switch games. Solid video dude!
Glad to hear itâs going well for you, boss! Love seeing your success :) keep it up!
@@StreamScheme Your videos are so helpful. Looking forward to having a gander at the new overlay too. Might find an element or two from it for me too :D
Appreciate the helpful videos man! My biggest struggle atm is I have so many people gifting sub I capped out in Twitch Affilitate.. we have 112 subs and average 20 viewers usually. Advice like this helps me grow further thanks so much man.
Second tip of finding a niche community within a community will for sure take away. In addition to being more unique content i've also found that the main community discords/reddit you usually need to be "legit" content creator and apply before being allowed to plug but finding smaller discords is good idea to get around that.
I've personally never seen self-promotion or plug channels help anyone grow a consistent community so I wouldn't stress about that.
Thanks for the tips I got affiliate because of you
Perfect topic, wanted to know that.
Hope it helps! :) #earlygang
That last clip hit hard.
Crescentines?
@@StreamScheme yup
More great info again! I get so excited when I see a Stream Scheme video pop up on my feed. Iâm such a big fan of schedules and sticking to them. Even when I feel a desire to stream on an unscheduled day, I use that time to create content on another platforms instead. Itâs been so helpful
Glad you like them! And good work, keep it up mate!
Even after streaming for 5+ years, your videos still give me good, actionable ways to improve. As always, thanks for all the advice and info!
Glad to hear it! Keep it up, Ian :)
82 likes and 0 dislikes...
Perfectly balanced as all things should be
Just the core community for now, people will dislike soon :) The videos can always be better!
Here early again because your content is amazing
@@StreamScheme
Great video! Loved hearing the different ways that people grew because it shows there isn't "one way"
But I do have question that Metal4fear's tips made me ponder.. If you're looking to grow playing a popular game, would you say that it is ESSENTIAL that you build your audience outside of Twitch?
If there is no way to appear in a category or at the top of the category more specifically then yes it is crucial people can discover you from
Somewhere else :)
Pretty much yeah. If you get lost in the sea of streamers then it is REALLY hard for someone to randomly stumble upon your stream so making content on other platforms is really important.
Question! I hear a lot to engage your new viewers, and that'll help get them involved. Is there a good way to monitor your viewer count/viewers to be able to truly tell when a new viewer comes in? Your videos are great and very informative, and I appreciate what you're providing here.
Sadly not, viewer count is slow to update and when it does often it is already wrong again, you just have to do your best to make chatty fun content :)
Video sugestion: 1 monitor streamers tips
Article on the website about it :)
Thank youuuuu! Any chance you still got that link for seeing the viewership on each game like that??
#Own3d peacekeeperstyle I found what OnlyTrails had to say was very insightful. Finding a niche game and making even more specific content for it seems like such an easy way to build a core community. Another huge thing that I am contemplating right now is whether or not to play other games, besides the small one I play right now. I am worried I would lower my view count, but like OnlyTrails said , you will still gain followers and viewers as well as build your community. Heâs made me more confident in my idea to stream another game. Thanks for having these streamers share their stories!
Iâm glad! Trails is a legend and a fantastic creator!
Iâve discovered your channel recently and Iâm loving your content ! Iâm trying to convert your tips for music streaming on twitch. Maybe youâve got an idea or two on how to improve that ? đ
I think art streaming or music streaming is about understanding the demographics on Twitch.
Violinists who stream video game sound track covers blow up for example, you need to find a way to stand out the way Only_Trails talks about how he did that in this video!
Then make a video of the stream, and share it to communities who are passionate! Hope that helps! #earlygang
@@StreamScheme huuuh did I miss the violin part in the video? I love watching your videos when cooking đ
Your videos definitely help yes !
@@marcdavis4412 Doesn't specifically talk about violin, I just mean trails used his stream as a way to appeal to a unique audience and engage them on other platforms. :)
Oh called out for the panels . For me I do the panels n stuff bcs itâs helps me be less nervous 6.6 but okay thumbnails idk there was thumbnails 6:6 and titles ima start with that for now bcs I made all new socials for my twitch 6.6
I'm a half life death match streamer, and a really fun way to boost a stream is to drop your twitch link in the server, followed by "stream snipe me" its silly and a lot of fun
Love ya videos man
Started streaming 3 weeks ago roughly, good amount of views most streams. Got on average 3 people watching me now for majority of my streams ( even climbed up to 7 active viewers today)
Changed it up slightly on sunday with a new game. fanastic stream & now i'm planning to do that just on sundays/ writing some rp/what's happened off stream. Now i just need to wait till sunday >.>
P.s the game is state of decay 2 juggernaut edition ( you should play it)
On that note, gonna have a prompt in the command so people can ask whats happened
Glad you find the videos helpful! That really means a lot, congrats on the average viewership climb as well! You got this mate!
Recently hit 500 followers on twitch and I'm over half way to 600 honestly love streaming and I have such an amazing little community. I'm so thankful for there supportâ€
What was that bass at the end ElJay? That slaps, man!
That is in every video, Nick! Are you admitting to never watching an ending! hahahaha
@@StreamScheme I may click away a few seconds before the end screen, but now that I know that bass is there...
what helped for me was just really talking in a bunch of different for communities for a long time while sitting on the fence about actually streaming.. till one day i was like fuck it i wanna make people laugh so i got up got everything set up for it and all those people who i grew connections with in that community shared their community with me that i was able to get affiliate within my first week of streaming
