Watching again ❤it. Banned, rare of yesterday is so much better than Todays nasties. Thank you!
I'm still watching these great reruns of Match Game, in 2023. No better game shows!
Thank you MAtch Game Productions for keeping these available for all of us. I watch DAILY for hours and hours. Watch many over and over too. I guess you could say MAtch Game is my daily constitutional !!
I love your postings. I watch them for hours at a time.
Gene's favorite line: "No help from the audience please, you may be giving a ROTTEN answer."
I thought Genes fav line was. "Are you ready?" He must say it 15 times a game!
Would be nice to have explanations for each episode as to why each was banned or skipped.
That was one of my first thoughts: what should I be expecting for each one? Also, how do you “skip” an episode and still keep the continuity of the game intact?
Most are probably because of Gene being quite the perv with his guests. Just a guess, though.
I think it was because two of the celebrities used the word “Fag” to answer the question
@@YoDempsey
No. Gene was flirty, not pervy. There is a huge difference. Please learn it before making such silly statements.
@@user-mm4nq3xi8l Yes!
2022. I love it when Nipsey Is on. So thankful for CZcams and the people who put these on.
A favorite game show and still today! Love the 70's and 80's TV shows etc., more respect of words than some shows or entertainment today.
I wish we could replace Let's Make A Deal in the mornings for an hour of Match Game
The clothes, the set design... These were so much fun.
Thank you for sharing these shows again! Exactly what I've been wanting to watch! Thank you again!!!!
So weird to see Richard sitting in the top row.
He wasn't... He was sitting in the middle bottom row
@@michaelgrant7322 it's two different Richards!!!
alot seems weird
Im tired of having to reload this every TEN hours......jeez
Not to mention 2 from the Walton's in the same panel.
The weird thing about this game is that if the celebrities don't care for a certain contestant, they give the most out of context answers - - funny watching it this way. There is always an obvious, easy answer.
Sometimes it was so blatantly obvious they weren't even trying.
That always bugged me, especially with the women in the last spot (Fannie, Joyce, and especially Patti Deutsche) when there was an obvious answer, snd a contestant needed one to win, they would come up with the most STUPID answers!
If you watch the anniversary special or behind the scene special on game show network those seats were told to specifically give off the wall answers. In the same way seat 4 was always the bombshell. It made the game more fun and probably prolonged them too.
Patty and Fannie were hilarious.
@@toasteee252 Then that would mean the game was FIXED. That can’t be true.
I always liked when Bob Barker appeared on Match Game with his Price Is Right references.
RIP Bob Barker 1923-2023.
Both shows were filmed in the same studio.
I’m still watching Match Game reruns in 2020. What about you?
The words Fag, Fairy and Queer banned the episode.
I also am watching from 2020 Started with episode 1 in 1973. Knew they had earlier shows but I just started from there. After 3 months furlough bc of covid I waited until I was back at work and watch during my lunch break
I’m surprised that they actually showed some episodes of gene or Richard with sexual comments and smoking on the show. That stopped in the’80s
I watch reruns!!

6:33 You had to feel like a heel when all 6 celebrities agreed and you guessed another answer.
Actually I once saw an episode where the contestant gave the awesome answer and the celebrities sucked. The question was, “Did you hear about the big laundry detergent spill? Now everyone is on the beach watching the _________ come in.” All 6 celebrities said “suds” but the contestant said, “tide”
@@eph2vv89only1way I think that's even worse. I would've said "tide" too!
@@marshmutt8975 I often wonder if the episode is on CZcams now. I would love to see it again. I saw it in 1977. I remember the year because it was a week before our family moved to Nova Scotia.
Wow, I don't think I've ever really heard that term used since around that era! 😆 Definitely a very common phrase back then.... Boy have times changed!
Some of these episodes are so old that the contestants weren't automatically picking Richard for the head to head match.
I first started reading your comment as one of the questions: "Some of these episodes are SO old, that the contestants weren't automatically "
On the first episode of this, There was another Richard on the panel, and he was sitting on Richard’s seat.
Some of these episodes are so old that Brett, Charles and Richard Dawson were not in their usual seats
One of them is so old that Gene didn't know what "K through 6" means -- which absolutely broke my brain.
@@CinemaDemocratica 😂😂
Today is Betty White's 100th Birthday. Just a few more weeks and she could've been here to celebrate, I'm sure she's having a great time with Allen now. She will always be missed. R.I.P Betty
These are probably some of the funniest Match Game episodes I have ever seen! Keep up the good work!
661st this was my after school show to watch.... in the 70's...
Me too!
Great show !!@ EVEN THOUGH WE WERE SUROUNDED BY EVIL IT WAS THE BEST OF THE BEST.....TIME IN HISTORY !!!! ❤
I Remember watching that game with my mom I was 12 years old when it first aired when I was 18 I tried out for the show didn’t make it questions were a lot harder then they were on the actual show at home I would get Every right I can’t believe it’s 2022 I don’t know where the time went and now 60 years old and have those stars passed away may they all rest in peace
A lot of these actors may have shown up on love american style and love boat
Wow it's cool to see the HOST of a game show... On ANOTHER SHOW!!! Bob Barker was cool even back then!
I feel that "in house" entertainment helps.Bert Convy appeared on this before and after his Tattletales fame.
It is amazing to see these stars in their younger years!!!😄
You mean like when they were still breathing?
@@Toysinmyattic1 Betty White is still breathing
Arlene Francis was doing What's My Line since 1950. She was fabulous! But no spring chicken

I love Gene Rayburn & Bob Barker! Actually love a lot of these stars,Richard Dawson,Arlene!!
It was a trip seeing Bob Barker on the Match Game. He was a great host of TPIR. Dawson went on to host Family Feud which was entertaining.
@@mainecoon6514
Richard Dawson was a creepy person big time
YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!!
Just an FYI: This episode is delayed for starting. CZcams is processing the video now. I'm sorry that it is not ready yet. It's out of my control!
I just saw this is going on but o can’t watch it now... will it remain or is it a watch now kind of thing... this is my FAVORITE thing to watch on CZcams!!!💕( I remember some of the shows from when I was younger too... showing my age 😂)
Great public service you provide.
49:25 - Richard's impersonation of Paul Lynde ... priceless.
The panel with Greg Morris, Brett, Charles, Antira Ford, Richard, and Betty is in this collection five times. They were a naughty panel.
Christopher Baker this is only because Anitra Fords episodes were not cleared to air. Buzzr finally aired them in 2018!
@@MatchGameProductions How come they were not cleared to air?...And why was the contestant with the last name Tripp allowed back again?...
@@mikecarlucci8656 It's possible that they had to get waivers from the panelists.
I prefer McLean Stevenson now he was funny and dick Martin

Never got to see Match Game after June 11, 1973 I graduated that day and June 12 , 1973 I was on a plane to boot camp and Vietnam shortly there after. My dad died on June 20, 1973 I never got to day good bye to him

Thank you and please have a happy holiday season and Merry Christmas to you and all of yours
Oh my God.
David, I'm so very sorry that you never got to say goodbye to your dad. These are the events that happen when we're younger and shape us for the rest of our lives. It's not fair. I don't know what the circumstances were, but I'm going to guess that he knew how much you loved him, and if he was aware that you weren't around, he understood the reasons why. Be well, and like we all should, try to enjoy whatever time you have left. Thank you for your service, David. Peace.
So weird watching Gene without a microphone
Gene didn't hold a mic until episode 119.
Arlene, Betty White,Jane on the honeymooners,& her sister are always so immaculately & beautifully dressed, their hair perfect, skin flawless!! And they were so sweet, kind, humble!!
First thing I notice in these old gameshows vs today's? How fat we are today.
So true
So by 1980 they dropped the year from the title and reverted back to "The Match Game" - from the original game show of the 1960s. I guess, in a couple years they picked up the Hollywood Squares as well.
Amazing to see Mama Cass. Unfortunately, she died the following year, in 1974. RIP.🌹💔
Love her personality and voice, gone too soon
You know who thought Jimmy Walker was so incredibly funny, and laughed at everything he said? Jimmy Walker.
Patti Deutsch (2:20:00) was really a beautiful lady. Her red hair was nothing less than spectacular. May she rest in peace.
I loved Patti's nasally voice! Cute and comical.
She was, and so clever and funny! R.I.P.
@@georgemaster689 I loved Patti's deadpan stare!
Everyone on the panel, except Elaine has passed away. Gene too.
I wonder who'd have thought the Price Is Right would still be going strong in 2021
I love Drew Carey but I so much hate that beard he has now. Lord please let him get the notion to shave it off ASAP !!!!!😫😫😫😫😫😫😫
@Russell Collier When did that happen?
"Don't forget to control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered." - Bob Barker

That show is so lame 👎, so sad.
Michael Learned was a looker.
So was his TV mom! She was actually only a few years older then John Boy in real life and made to look older on the Waltons.
@@vikings844 Michael Learned is still pretty at 81!
Gary was a looker, too, but why would a woman be named Gary?
I can't get over how much a young Anne Meara looks like a young Sarah Ferguson.
YES!!!!!!! That never crossed my mind, but YES!!!!-
Wow. All of the female contestants were beautiful.
That was by intention, they purposefully avoided uggos.
70's women were naturally beautiful, but Darlene is absolutely gorgeous with her long platinum blond hair. Donna 6:31 too is gorgeous.
Yeah. I watch/listen while working, and always pause to look at the pretty ladies! I grew up ten years too late. It was all puffy and hairspray in my heyday.
No more suggestive than any others of theirs lol. Saw this one on the Bob Barker tribute collection for this year.
This episode definitely didn't have the flow it ended up developing, and Gene didn't have his charismatic groove yet. Very green, but I'm glad they kept it on the air, as it eventually became AWESOME and provided so much laughter and joy.
No Brett Somers ? Thank God
*Bob Barker on "March Game" AND they mention "The Price Is Right" ....??*
*Whoa.*
Why are you surprised by this? They always promote what the guest star is appearing in.

Match Game and Price Is Right taped on the same stage.Probably why Price references are used.
gene rayburn was a sharp dresser he my favorite host rest in peace gene
The correct response would be “GR was dressed sharply.” He never bought his clothes and had a wardrobe Dept on MG.
GENE RAYBURN YOU WERE THE BEST
He was, but man have times changed. I honestly thought he was going to force himself on that one poor contestant.
52:53 I may be the only one that caught this... Bobby just insults Charles with the "story of his life" comment. 😮
Good catch!
I DID HEAR THAT!
There's an episode of Match Game 78 where Charles pokes fun at himself in the Jolly Green Giant's Halloween party question. He says,"what's the biggest fruit you can get, present company excluded?"
Boy, if they ever brought this show back now - can you imagine how much more 'racey' it would be?!!! Actually, it'd probably be a LOT more fun to watch than most of the 'reboot' shows they have on now!
Would be awesome to do a modern 'reboot' w Dave Chappelle as the host... take it in a TOTALLY different direction (of course, with bette/ wittier writers) - how AWESOME would that be!!!
uh, they did, and it's rubbish
@@VisualAssault2011 Yeah, and Alec Baldwin sucked as host! Gene Rayburn must have been turning in his grave😭

If a contestant is a married woman, the first thing she says is, "I'm married." That was the 70s for you.
Gorgeous Contestants Wonderful Celebritys And The Best Host Of Any Game Show
I was callrd gorgeous as a contestant MG74 segment 77 i think.
I hsd no idea i was a looker..that stems from my mpm dying from childbirth when I was, just aged 7..i had no one to tell me that i was prerry..my poor dad struggled ti raise 5 of us sges, fron 3 to 11..sad upbringig but with hard work i became quite famous..Amazing because I was SO insecure..oh well..life happens..

Two women- one named Michael and one named Gary. Sounds like this is from2020.
LMAO.
And the female celebrity named Brett I sometimes see on these old shows is not even on this one!
Could have been Gerry, pronounced like Gary. Short for Geraldine.
@@wschmrdr I have also seen the name Gari, pronounced like Gary, as a feminine name, and I actually pictured that spelling when I heard this contestant's name. Too bad they didn't display the contestants' names like other shows such as "Jeopardy" do. Or like they did for the celebrities.
No, Alvin - but it sounds like you aren't.
2:16:20 You can SEE Joan trying desparately not to think of anything dirty.
Wow. Match Game was lucky not to be canceled after that boring, deadly dull first video.
I agree. Those short questions were so boring
The show was just like it was when popular in the 60's. Part cerebral, part silly. Eventually they wanted more "silly".
In the 70s, there were some great game shows and many terrible ones. This first season Match Game may have had little competition in their time slot. So yes not as good in comparison to later seasons BUT much better that many other game shows.
To me, there was absolutely nothing wrong with what the celebrities said.
love my Pastor Rev. Della Reese Lett. RIP

Without Charles Nelson Reilly, it isn't really Match Game. Fact!
He’s my favourite
Marsha Wallace said, "I could have been a teacher", on a Match Game episode from the late 70s. Did she know that in a very short period she would become Mrs. Krabappel on the STILL running "The Simpson" series? Unfortunately, she died several years ago and is no longer with the company.
Wow, I sure notice the difference without Brett Summers! It’s not the same show at all, she is a screaming riot
Great Real Comedy of what’s FUNNy😮
Jeri, you were stunning. A mixture of elegance and rare natural beauty. 🙂
Not all blanks. Some are questions on Matchgame 73!
Good show, but somewhere ol' Barker is smiling down upon us and saying in a competitive yet friendly voice, "Ahh Rayburn, Narz, Dawson, Convy, my show outlasted yours by a LONG SHOT. YEAHS!!! ON MY STAGE!
I am also still watching reruns of Match Game
Australia had our own version of the US Match Game in the late 1970s, called Blankety Blanks
They'd rerun into the1990's. "Ugly" Dave Gray was always on it, with celebrities and musicians
Like these, they had Questions & Answers that could be a double entendre, but always funny !!
What Austrailian musicians? Neil Finn is my favorite. He was young then.
@@roxannemoser 😊 This wasn't Blankety Blanks hosted by Daryl Somers, there was a earlier Blankety Blanks hosted by Graham Kennedy in 1977-78. A few musicians I remember seeing were; John Paul Young, John English, Peta Tappano and her mum "Peggy" Tappano.
I find this show funnier than his tbh. Both have double entenders but I found Graham more sleazy. He always came across like a dirty old man lol.
The episode with Bob and Brett was so exciting - loved how he won 3 in a row with her. And you know he was excited to get that hug each time. But no kiss . . . His wife was in the audience watching ;-) (start at 2:21:40)
In the uk and ireland this show is known as blankety blank .
I saw Match Game when it originally aired. It's still funny.
These episodes weren't banned at the time, but some were banned from reruns. There are originally banned episodes on other CZcams channels though.
"Funny" how time changes... Also, interesting fact, a lot of these and "What's My Line" shows had cigarette company sponsors. Not something you see today.

Brett's strategy is to include the most answers possible in her multi-card offerings as possible in hopes of scoring a match. It's called cheating but it works.
I FIGURED THAT OUT YEARS AGO ..AS A CONTESTENT THE CHEATING WASOK THAT TYPE OF CHEATING ..NOT
