I always thought this program lovely. But seeing it again after 5 years gives me a fresh appreciation of the quality of the performance
Notice that this is a different part of their relationship/partnership. They are not together now, but the feelings are real. This is what keeps the partnership alive. Notice that earlier in their Mahler routine at the Olympics, they end with Tessa leaning to Scott as their ending pose. This program has a lot of the subtleties and the small details in the body language and gestures that only a long term relationship has, even though they are not in a relationship. The ending pose in this routine is a stationary rotational lift lowering to where Tessa leans on Scott's knee and Scott ending the routine with him leaning onto Tessa. It's like love comes when both sides take the first steps to appreciate one another. The first half is internal conflictions that affect one another, but when Latch comes on, it's when you finally see the beauty within the calming scenery that's when the work towards appreciation starts. This is the same with Moulin Rouge. Except Moulin Rouge is a lot more dramatic.
I just love how Marie-France reacts to them while they're dancing, it's like she's on the ice with them, she gives %100 of herself to this job and that's probably why she is this good at creating such wonderful choreographies.
Yeah that was so sweet to watch, she was swaying like she was with them, feeling every beat and rhythm. Very apt!
And Roman is very focused when he watches his skaters. He’s outwardly reserved but you can tell he’s out there on the ice with the skaters too.

Not necessarily to compete but just to have a demo program of sorts.
They have already won 3 Olympic medals and people do not want to watch the same competitors forever.

I’m so in love with Scott’s one foot gliding from 1:29-1:36 and then how he transitions it into spin, his blade control just freaking amazing! And Tessa’s arm movements are so graceful! They are perfect!
True Perfection Ice Dancing cannot be broken down into Pieces n Parts such as you can with Couples Skating: at bla-bla time when skater Dude Throws Skater Dudette across the ice into a spin or whatnot, yawwnn etc back together, she stands on his head oh clap 👏🏽 clap etc This is Ice Dancing! Altogether Different! The obvious fragility and pain of the partners being apart for any amount of time, the coming back together as an unbearable Release and Rekindling of Emotion Felt as Seen in every fiber of their beings in particular their Faces: never taking eyes off the other, and Absolute Lightness of Physicality under all the strength: as of course in ballet! Tessa and Scott are quite the Individuals (not good) unfortunately such as with Ballet and certainly true Wrestling in particular in Highschool when needing to build muscle yet cut weight without mercy as their us a reason for all of this in these sports (total opposite in Upper Body Track and Field, Where the Mass of the Thrower due to their need to Establish Gravity onto the smaller Stone they throw during the Key Orbital Spin.. ah yes Physics is A Huge part of Upper Body Track n Field Sports and Mass Does Matter!) Sorry I Digress… Tessa and Scott need to cut at least 15 to 20 pounds.
See Perfection in Ice Dancing for all above examples and More as you watch the greatest Ice Dancers of our Time: World Champions and Record Breakers by Major Point breaks but it’s really too Obvious: For France: Guillaume Cizeron and Gabriella Papadakis! Interesting note: the Canadian Coach for ? Tessa broke away from her and has been happily working, still in Montréal, with Gabriella. Guillaume has moved there as well. Every time they Dance on Ice they Shock the crowd so hard fairly low Jet crowds such as in Japan cry and give them well deserved standing O’s. Fallen Angels.

I’m obsessed with and just absolutely LOVE V/M…but I quite like P/C also. They will one day be considered one of the greatest of all times too. I often think these debates are ridiculous as both teams are amazing and I see no reason why both teams can’t be appreciated at the same time. Or why allegiance with one means you have to bash the other team. Monique’s “delusional rant” seems generous. How do you even know it’s a delusional rant if you can’t even understand what this person is trying to say or what point they are trying to make. It’s barely comprehensible and I’m sorry I wasted my time reading it.
Original commentator (I don’t know how to read your name, I’m sorry): thank you so much for pointing out Scott’s one footed glide! I can’t believe I didn’t consciously notice this before as I’ve watched this program hundreds of times. Put a colon : between your minutes and second instead of a period and it will create a hyper link for you. 1:29 Their movements are so smooth. Sometimes their footwork isn’t as complicated as when they were younger but their edges are even deeper than before and they are so fluid and grounded at the same time. They are able to make complicated footwork seem easy and allow it to breath somehow.

both have matured so much in their facial expressions to where scott no longer looks at tessa like a vampire about to devour his victim, and tessa having more nuanced smiles/sassiness/drama
Interesting you should point out one of their worst ‘qualities’ as it were: they unfortunately Still project ‘2 skaters hangin together doing their own thing; soooo interesting that the Male Coach happily switched from working with Miss Not Exquisitely Painful Lightness of Being (one of the Hallmarks of Perfection in Ice Dancing) to Working in Canada where they Live, with Ice Dancing True World Champion and Record Breakers for many Reasons: For France, Guillaume Cizeron and Gabriella Papadakis!

@@MiraiElizabeth87 No. Scott and Tessa were beaten by the French at Gpf 2017. In the SD and the FD. They were beaten in the FD at Worlds 2017. And they were beaten in the FD at Olys 2018.

This program and the performance is sheer perfection and beauty. Absolutely one of their best performances
They love each other and don’t see it. They think it’s about the show and what they project but you can’t act that type of love and connection between two people.

A miracle on ice with hypnotically beautiful music. Did they still have what it took for the podium and gold in 2018? Watching them here must have been quite a shock for other teams of the time. There were good competitors but it was becoming obvious that Tessa and Scott had that magic still. Scott almost swaggers with the excess of skill. Tessa is still questioning but by the time this dance is over, Tessa knows! Truly beautiful. I love that they didn't bother with fancy costumes. They were there to demonstrate professional skills. They did.❤

They are graceful and they flow easily together and suite and compliment each other wonderful engimatic dancer skaters . but Torville Dean were so in tune with each other their artistic merit beggars belief They were like ballet dancers on ice .They skated as though they were one person .
So many millions have said Torville Dean made them shiver made their hairs stand on end .
But I have to say Scott Moir are the very next best and I wish them well

They aren’t kissing. Just the angle that you’re seeing. But sometimes I do think he kisses her neck in the last spin. Not this performance though.
