The making of this dress resulted in hours of footage. I tried to compress it as best as I (currently) can. I hope it won't be too boring to watch!
Btw, the dress is still unhemmed and remains void of hook and eye closures, that's why it's gaping so badly at the back🫠

The fabric is bloody gorgeous perfect choice for the dress. As for not having somewhere to wear it like all of the other fancy things you must look inwards and ask "why not wear the fancy dress for the heck of it" nothing is stopping you from being a glamorous princess while making a youtube video at home.
Also alot of cat in this video i approve of this.
I personally wear my fancy dresses to the grocery store - it's the only place I go regularly that isn't work, and the point is to be seen! It's always a highlight of my week, even if I do get a lot of "so are you going anywhere in particular after this?"
Totally agree! I wear my beautiful clothes and even hats (I have a LARGE collection!) around the house, to the post office, the grocery store...wherever I go. And I get lots of compliments! If you feel good wearing it, wear it!

This dress is beautiful! And it fits with your capsule wardrobe. Maybe you could make one of your blazers as an alternative piece to go with the dress.

I will use the same fabric for some of the other pieces in my capsule wardrobe, so it will fit right in! I was actually thinking about a cute cropped jacket with lining in the same fabric as the dress 🤩

Everything is perfect, You look so beautiful in it, I fully understand the urge to have a beautiful dress even though there is no where to wear it, I would be tempted to wear it with boots and a big sweater to the shops to get milk just because it should go out as much as possible xx

Some reasons why one may think Liz is older in that portrait: Liz Taylor said that when Halsman took that photo that he told her that two sides of her face photographed differently: one younger and the other more mature. I’m pretty sure she chose the latter side for the photo. She said this photo was the first time she saw herself as a woman, and it made her cut her hair so she would look older. It also could be partly cultural: most of us today would associate a classical look with someone older, we know Liz Taylor herself as a Sex symbol today, our ideas of the conservative culture of the time period makes us think they wouldn’t let a 16 year old wear such a revealing dress, etc. One could also say it’s because times were different. Our culture is still predatory today, so one might say 16 for a girl was considered “grown enough” by ppl(mostly men) back then. It could also be her mindset or how she held herself. While all teens think they’re adults, Liz was in very adult situations(sadly) from a young age.

I honestly tried to find some pattern to use for this project.🙈 Mostly because I prefer projects where I don't have to use mi brain 😂😂 I had one candidate but there were so many panels on the dress😵💫 and the skirt didn't have as much swoosh, aaaaaand the dress had sleeves.
