#ford #everest #review - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I couldn’t agree more with your comment about not understanding why anyone would buy a Prado, the 2.8 diesel is especially rubbish. The Everest is now the clear leader in it’s segment.
The Prado is not even in the same class as the Everest, which is a ute based SUV, the Prado is not. We'll see in a few months how the sales for Everest compare to Prado's at over 2400 a month.
They’re both in the SUV large VFACTS segment.
This ford is Thai made and rubbish with problematic probes gearbox
How can the visibility be good out of the rear?? There are two huge blind spots. No match to the Pajero’s superb all round visibility!!
Even the MUX is better than prado when you look at The inclusions in Toyota
Picked up my Platinum Everest a couple of weeks ago after a 7 month wait. I was originally going to order the Landcruiser 300, but the disappointing legroom for my 6'4" frame made me look elsewhere. I took a punt the new Everest would have more leg room for me and the second row behind, and I was right!
I came from Mercedes GLC250 and wanted something more powerful and better off road, so I ordered the Platinum with the off road pack which includes 18" wheels, all terrain tyres and steel underbody protection. So far I'm very happy with the performance and the quality of the vehicle and I'm really hoping it stays that way :)
Serious offroad?
I am very happy somebody complemented my favourite car Ford Everest 2023 otherwise in India everybody loves fortuner. New Everest has adas sync 4a and much features which are not there in fortuner and gloster
How much did you pay for drive away
@@richardsondiamond1905 it was around $87,000 on the road.
FINALLY, I was looking for someone who can compare everest with lc300 and your comment helped a lot.
Excellent review as always Paul! Can’t wait to have one soon. I do hope you can also test out the other features and tech too
Hey Paul, quick one with the tricky buttons on the infotainment screen, don’t click on them, swipe up!! Just discovered this on my Wildtrak and it’s a game changer 👌
Buying the sport and tested the other day! Omg in love! It’s like driving on a cloud! I can not wait! Luv the review
for those wondering about fuel economy... my real world usage on a new ranger wildtrak with the 2.0L is 10.1/100km and thats 1600km of mixed town, motorway, country roads etc in roughly equal parts. so the V6 is going to be a bit higher
How heavy loaded are you? Seems a little high?
My 2021 hilux (which isn't really known for good economy) with the 2.8 does 9-9.3 with ~450 kg in the bed.
Record is 7.6 but that is 70/90km/h country roads.
I'm rarely over 10 if I'm not towing.
Yep, 9 to 9.3 my 2022 Fortuner and 9.4 towing 8x5 tandem
My discovery 4 with the earlier gen of the 3l v6 gets 10/100… So not really higher and the landy isn’t the most aerodynamic shape
You need around 15000km to start getting accurate readings. Engine is still running in
That’s presuming the car has the exact same coefficients
Excellent Review, Paul. I was waiting for your review :)
Great review. I hope Ford is watching and brings this to the states!
Great review, appreciate your effort 👍🏼
Awesome review Paul as always. The Platinum does come with Panoramic sunroof.. 😃
It's very good looking inside and out, for me the best in the segment by miles. I'm nervous to buy the first year of a new model though.
Yes, first models can be disastrous, but you have to remember that the dash, chassis and transmission options have all been fairly well proven in the 2022 Next Gen Ranger and Raptor models.
Un
Been waiting for this one!! ❤
Thanks Paul for the great review. In my opinion, the missing model from the everest range is the Trend with the 3.0L V6 engine.
A good review Paul. I have owned 4 Prados since 2005 and enjoyed trouble free motoring. with all of them I travelled over 100 000km of rough gravel roads with my last Prado 3.0l TX diesel which now reads 220,000km's without problems. I really love the shape, styling and technology of the new Everest Platinum and had to great difficulty to choose between the two. The only concern I have is its reliability, service footprint and resale value of Ford. I decided to stick with what gives me the best peace of mind and opt for the slightly more expensive Prado 2.8GD VXL despite sharing the view that the Prado is ageing. In South Africa it maintains an excellent resale value because of its dependability, unlike the Ford which seems to be problematic after 150 000km's. I am nevertheless keen to see how the Everest will perform in the segment. An opportunity for a long term test review Paul?
The maccas chips had me 😂😂 good review like always mate
Great review Paul. We've had an Everest Sport since 2020 and have a Platinum on order and can't wait. As good as the Sport has been, the 4cyl is a bit underdone in a large car like this so the V6 was a big carrot for me. The added luxury to what the current Sport offers is another reason we are upgrading.
Very underated channel ! Love the hardness test spreadsheet. Would love to have a noise level db spreadsheet too!
Your reviews are first class 👍
Advancement in off road vehicles in the last 10 years really is impressive.
Ford is a great vehicle. Its fun to drive bit the problem is reliability and parts specially the transmission. Btw, Good review
Has it really gone that far though? 10 years plus you’ve been able to buy any of a dozen 4x4 utes and station wagons and drive them stock straight across the Simpson desert without issue. Nothing new that’s come out has really changed except a shit load of electrics and senors making it a lot more expensive to repair your ride.
All the tech might make it easier for beginners but so much more to go wrong and it does go wrong.
Very underated channel !
Phenomenal SUV 👌🏾 thoroughly impressive allround. The performance and it's weight looks to be on par with the LR Disco 4 SDV6. I love it ❤️
Hopefully the Everest crankshaft is a lot less likely to snap than in the Disco. Happened to us overtaking on a flat road 600Km from nearest tow truck at 100,000Km and 3 months out of warranty. JLR replaced the motor (>$25k), as they have had to do for hundreds of other owners globally.
This crank issue has been mentioned elsewhere, I think in the Ranger V6 review’s comments section. Had no idea this was a thing, seems really bad yet was not in the news much?
I’m a Toyota guy, but this Ford Design & all will change my thoughts as Toyota getting pricy this days. Value for money is visibly obvious. Great review Paul, always enjoyed your segment & well covered all section the buyer is looking.
Toyota as well but this vehicle seem solid and amazing. Love the tech inside and interior. Toyota is way behind in the interior
how are you comparing one of the best quality cars on the world, with one of the brands with the most recalls in 2022???... fuck mate, americans are really something.
This ford's engine will be over stressed just like all other turbo engines. Toyota on the other hand tunes their engines with lower boost so that they last.
@@neerenmoodley4897 Would you say the interior of a vehicle is more important? Just curious to get your thoughts behind this
Great review and beard :)
Here's the important facts - similarly specced Toyota Prado Kakadu versus Ford Everest Platinum (which actually does have more features) - Prado $95k - Everest $85k. Engine output Prado 150kw & 500nm - Everest 184kw & 600nm. Tow capacity Prado 3 tonne - Everest 3.5 and what task are these two vehicles typically used for? Towing a large caravan, boat or trailer. Loved my Prado which I just sold because I prefer a lesser priced vehicle that will do the same job better, easier and safer. I wouldn't pull a caravan even close to the 3t of the Toyota which strictly limits van choice. Just my thoughts because I dont care it doesn't have a shark fin aerial or has words inscribed in the headlights ....
Why do you guys can only tow 3 ton with the prado in Europe it’s the normal 3.5 tonne
Your the expert Paul .....well done mate
Great review Paul can’t wait to see sport review probably awesome as well way to go
Next gen everest is the right choice for me....good price and tones of features and plenty of space. Great choice for family on and off road. Can't wait to get one soon. Thanks
Bhai india to chodke chali gai ford....we are stuck with the same ol endeavour 2.0 🥹
What a great review Paul. I have a Basic GX Prado on order for over 12 months and have been considering the 4 cyl Everest Trend due to my disappointment in no firm delivery date. I think you have helped me make my decision. I feel like if I stay with the Prado Im buying a reputation and not todays technology
The Prado desperately needs an upgrade like the 300 series.
Don't buy western stuff with that hackable technology
Great review nice to see Lang Lang being used. Pre-orderd Everest Platinum on the 21" wheels in March shold be delivered December 2023, a bit of a wait at present but looking forward to it. If the Prado had a detuned V6 in it from the 300 series then I might have considered it, with the current model end of life into next year some time the Everest is on its own at the moment. The Platinum is great valuse and the interior looks beautiful, only things not so goow is the bland centre area which could do with some wood accents since it is the same in all the models and there are no height adjustable seat belts in this model.
Lang lang??
@@jerrymyahzcat Lang Lang was the test track for Holden. Its in Victoria. Massive proving ground for new vehicle development.
Thanks, Paul. Just love it. Your review just proves why. My only criticism is the all-so-somber black interior. In the previous gen, you could get a brown color, think they called it "Coganau", which looks and feel much more up-market. Two tones will look so much better. On the next test, could you open the glass roof, to see how easy or difficult it is to stand half-body above for a photo shot of that Lion charging towards you for lunch? Keep up the good reviews mate. We all enjoy it.
Great Video...
Suggestion on the next vid..
Probably a comparison review and offroad test between the Everest Platinum and Toyota Prado V6.
There is NO V6 Toyota Prado in Australia! It’s a 4-cyl Turbo diesel only.
@@johncanalese588 Okay mate
4 Cyl Comparison test then
Great review!! Would love to hear your thoughts on the ambiante.
Paul, I like the chassis flex test you do. Did I miss it here?
Best detailed review of this model I have watched. Had a deposit down for over a year against a new MUX 4x4 in philippines but still waiting. The New Everest has just arrived there, and now I have put down a deposit for one of these (its called Titanium in Fil). It only comes with the 4 cyl bi turbo. Having watched your review I have made up my mind to lose the deposit on the MUX....
Good choice! And thanks for watching!
Man thats a thing of beauty😍
That bonnet to guard fitment is normal on all cars and is adjustable. You just have to wind the little rubber bumpers out to adjust the bonnet up and sit flush. Good for when the cars get older and things start sagging you can adjust it tighter
I think the point here is you want to make sure the pre-delivery is done right, like, don't let the stupid comically large bow and the photo the dealer does with you distract you from checking these things
Another great review Paul. Ford certainly put their A team into the new Ranger/Everest and I reckon the Everest is a good looking rig
Would be exciting to see a Wildtrack Everest come out in the future.
Was waiting for the review. Please if you can , do a comparison between the previous gen and current gen of the Ranger and Everest
Hey guys, great review and very informative. I've watched both the TREND and the PLATINUM reviews, but would like to know when or if you guys will be doing the SPOTS review?
01:55 The bonnet have two rubber stops that can turn in, or out, to adjust the hight of the bonnet. Nothing to do with built quality. If the bonnet pannel looks too low, turn the rubber out a bit until its level
Surprised no one did that on this example, but it may be something that normally happens at dealer pre-delivery, and so was missed for a press vehicle.
@@steved3702 When you pay $3000 for dealer delivery they might do this. Or they may do nothing except screw the number plates on and put fuel in the car LOL
@@billybob6943 Wait! You got fuel? 😁
Phew. I was thinking I’d there a design flaw but I’ve seen 2 in showrooms and they were perfect
Very well done mate
Impressive how it seems to be perfectly suited for the UK market. I would have one in a heartbeat if I could afford it.
Perfectly suited? Not with todays fuel prices😂
@@snipez5555 honestly, alot of cars nowadays on the uks roads are pretty uneconomical
Do you guys get these in the UK?
@@sullivanl3305 No, never. Closest we've had is the Ranger pickup
Well done Paul, comprehensive review much more detailed from what I have seen from other sites.
I don't think I've ever been so hyped for a video ever
Australian auto journalist “light off-roading” would be extreme by our typical American auto journalists. Good stuff
Another great review as always Paul! Pick of the segment for me and great to see KFC lovers can fit in the back! Dangerous saying anything bad about the prado, the fan boys come out with their pitchforks.
🤣🤣🤣
Toyota are always behind in technology. Ford have a poor reliability record for the ranger. Not keen to try this first. Prado will hold value and do the job. Also the prado has 140L fuel tank amd rear door spare wheel. Sure if you just use it as a soccer taxi that's fine but the prado is made for the outback.
Mate, this video cemented my decision to get a new Everest. I got the Platinum, and pick it up this week. I just came back to finish the video, I didnt actually get through it all the first time before the decision was made. Great video.
Have been waiting for this from a long time.
Thanks
One of the best car reviews, well done 👌🏼
Paul, I'm your greatest fan from Kenya. I never miss your videos. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is regarded as the car for the great in this country. I wish to meet up with you one day man...
Thanks Paul. Great review. Wanting to check will you be reviewing Sport version? Want to see what’s the different between the sport and platinum. I wish they do the blue on the platinum
Hey Paul ...great review as always👍. I have booked the sport version and plan to start doing a good amount of light off road to explore the Australian outback. Is it wise to go ahead with all terrain tyres. I am new to offroad and this will be my first 4×4 car. Thanks 😊
Yes, opt for the "AT" All Terrain tyres, as the "HT" Highway Terrain tyres will seriously limit the performance on unsealed roads and tracks.
For my present vehicle that came with HT tyres, I actually bought a second set of wheels and have MT tyres fitted to them for use when going off the beaten tracks.
I have just purchased and received this car, absolutely amazing!!! ❤
I look forward to the day payload capacity and night-driving will be given more attention by reviewers. This is the most comprehensive of the lot though. Great job, Paul!
I have had my new Everest Platinum for nearly 5 weeks now and have fitted it with ARB Old Man Emu suspension, bull bar, snorkel and 2nd battery. I have recently taken it from Adelaide to the Flinders Ranges and Pt Lincoln. The new Everest is brilliant. I have taken it on some pretty rough tracks in both areas and it performed beautifully. I would like to get BFG tyres but, at the moment, I can't get legal After Market wheel and tyre alternatives that don't protrude past the mud guards, as the 18" wheels and tyre sizes are specific to the new Everest. I have been told it will be early next year before they are available. Apart from that, it is a pleasure to drive. My previous 4x4 was the Everest Trend.
Great comment, good to hear mods are possible and ARB already able to fit to a new model like this. I’m assuming all modifications are ok warranty wise?
@@BW-nd5uc Hi, All the accessories from ARB are able to be fitted prior to taking delivery of the car and are included in the cars warranty. I chose to buy them after picking up the car, they are now covered by the ARB warranty and they don't interfere with the cars warranty. I am also waiting for ARB to bring out the long range fuel tank. Hopefully not long now.
Thank you great to know
Great presentation ❤
Great review Paul. I'm surprised you didn't test the Active Park Assist feature and the auto engine start via the app on the Platinum??
Very good review.
Great job Paul.
I really like the look of the front. I find the rear looks quite similar to the Dodge Durango.
I really really hope they bring out an Everest Raptor. If they do, I’m first in line.
Nice review Paul. These don't offer head up display I recon?
Great review. Nice machine
Robert Strong WA loved your excellent review I just purchased one won’t receive until July 2023
That’s live looking forward to going for a long Drive. kind Regards

- central locking on doors and windows wind-up finger pinch prevention features if available
We regularly get 6.8 per hundred in our 2.0TT 2019 Everest - then 14-15 towing a 20 foot caravan.
Solid numbers. 6.8/100. Is it just Hwy?
@@shanea9613 Yes Bairnsdale to Narberthong via Noogee. We are lucky enough not to live in a City.
Thanks Paul, it justifies our purchase.
Checked out the Ranger last week. Certainly a reasonable option and will be a big seller. I noticed the interior looks nice in pictures and the screen is impressive in person but the materials still seems quite cheap with some flimsy choices throughout.
I thought the exact same. I’m a stickler for these flimsy feeling plastics and for $80k I would expect some more premium feeling materials.
its just a ute, designed for rough work.
Great review... um looking at ordering a sport....
looks stunning
Thank you for detail review.. Does the car has lane assistance
Good review as always Paul, but as a keen 4wd’er and camper trailer towing family, a major point you’re missing in all these Ute-based 4wd reviews is discussing payload. Sure this has a hefty V6 that will tow 3.5t comfortably but when the payload (GVM less kerb weight) is only 649kg for this model, chuck a 3.5t van on the back and suddenly your usable payload (considering 10% of the trailer mass is tow ball weight) is down to just 299kg. Let’s say like most campers, you’re running a bullbar, towbar, roof rack and aggressive all terrain tyre’s that will at a minimum chop into 150 kg of your remaining payload, leaving just 149kg for passengers and luggage. Now for arguments sake, most people won’t tow the full 3.5t and will likely sit somewhere between 2.5t and 3.0t, still based off the above figures, at best you’re looking at just 200kg for passengers and luggage that will be chewed up quickly with 2 adults and a couple of kids and luggage. It might surprise you that the Prado and MU-X sit in similar camps while the 4cyl Everest Trend and Pajero Sport are up above 700kg. This is just a point that no journalist ever mentions and is a point worth noting considering the majority of families wanting to get into caravanning simply just look at the engine specs and see 3.5t towing capabilities and think that’s all that needs to be considered.
Best reviews by far. Something no one asks or mentions is if the Everest requires adblue?
Good review
thats why if iwant a review i come to your channel thank you
Hi Paul, great review. any word your able to share on the expected Everest PHEV release date or technology? I’m holding out for it in expectation that it will have a large increase in Power over the V6 diesel.
You cant really ask for more in a car review. I've just ordered one of these and this is so good to watch while I wait....a year for the car 😂
Looking forward to the Sport review
Me: Watching from the U.S…”What is a Ford Everest”? 😂 I wish it was available in our market, looks like a great suv!
It could be Ford’s answer to the 4runner for the US market! There’s no other mid sized truck based SUVs that I know of
Americans are quite good at making pathetic vehicles by the way.
Nice, for a mall crawler. Hasn't swayed my decision to buy one but I'll be watching them to see how many end up actually off road.
Please take a similar look at the 4x4 Ambiente. I got one yesterday and love it but would be very interested to see it stack up against the Platinum.
I wish we could get this (and a host of other off road models) in the US
This is awesome! I wish this was in the USA!! A Raptor version would be SICK!!!
Looking forward to your Everest Titanium 4x4 review. Too bad the Platinum isn't available in Thailand (where they are built).
Great job! Are you going to do a review of the new Bi Turbo Everest?
A comprehensive review. I wasn't a fan of the new model but after that review I've changed my mind. Fantastic.
Hi Paul, Please do the same test review in a Musso XLV Ultimate. Will help me in finalizing which vehicle to buy. Thnx a million
Everest is just stunning now... beautiful!
Would love to see the Sport with the Offroad Pack. 👍
Hi Paul, with a rated wading depth of 800mm, is raising the air intake i.e. adding a snorkel effective for water crossings or do the electrical components and other breathers in the engine bay make that a pointless exercise?
As others before have commented, another great review. Just one questions, I heard a rumour that the active cruise control good read speed signs and adjust the speed accordingly. Do you know if this is correct?
Yep first thing I noticed on the trend we looked at was the bonnet was fitted on the piss, definitely wouldn’t take delivery like it was.
Then I looked in the back of the Platnium and one of the speaker grills was hanging off on the rear most pillar.
The glove box wouldn’t open easy on the trend either, fit and finish feels very slammed together.
Always best to wait 6-12 moths until manufactures iron out any kinks. Taking this further, buying second gen/late in model life cycle, the suppliers will have updated parts to address any failures.
Another helpful review. Question. Do you have any idea what Ford is planning for the USB on the rearview mirror? You mentioned, a dash cam? Is a Dash Cam available?
Yes - Garmin 57 & 67W
Great review as always thanks. You seem more positive about the ride on the 21" than other reviewers. I'm about to order one but can't decide between the 21" and 18" with off road pack. My driving will be 99% city/highway, beach/sand a few times per year. Any suggestions?
Smaller tires are better for comfort on the highway
hi mate, thanks for the video. Please cover audio and matrix LED at night in platinum. If possible a short video at night (no street lights please). Appreciate it. Thanks.
Great video! Can you give your comment comparing the drive and ride comfort against the Prado?
...also 4WD capability wise, can it really be at par with the Prado having a centre diff?
Yes, 4WD capability wise, the Everest models that have the full time "4A" mode also have a Centre Diff, that locks up when in 4H and 4L modes.
I am a current Ford Flex owner and oh my god I absolutely need this in my life. It's a shame it's not in the US but 🤞🤞 I may have to preorder my first car lmao
Living in South Africa I would like the Everest in a PHEV model . Plug points 220v in it . With fast charger and run my home as we experience 8 hours black outs every day and it wont get better.i like this
No mention of the sun roof?
My wife has the platinum on order and I have the raptor, both due 2023
Another great review Paul. They look amazing in the flesh as well. Love my utes and need to tow 3.5t so went the wildtrak. Can’t wait to see your raptor.
I think ford have done a great job.
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t all tow utes and cars are under the weight of what they tow. Tow correctly and safely, no issues. The prime mover in trucks are well under what they tow. 110t triple road train is not towed by a truck weighing over 110t. Do it safely and set it up right.
This is not the right vehicle to be towing 3.5 t
It’s more capable up to 2.5 tonne, but not necessarily over 3 tonne
At 3.5 tonne, the payload left for passengers and luggage etc, would be VERY minimal, particularly if u fit the vehicle with accessories like side runners etc
What is its GVM & GCM ?
At 3.5 tonne, very easy to exceed the GCM, which is dangerous and illegal..
It won’t be legal to be at GVM, and then tow 3.5 tonne..
I was really looking forward to Paul’s Everest review. Paul makes these videos easy to watch. I just wish that it was released sooner. Ford has done a great job with next gen Everest. In my opinion the sport version is the pick of the bunch.
