That “switch” is all about insecurity. I grew up with a dude just like that. Anytime we all went out drinking he’d end up fighting because deep down he was very insecure and alcohol only heightened that feeling. So if he thought someone was mugging him off he felt like he had to fight him to prove to the room that he wasn’t weak. This is very common. The big badass in most rooms is usually the most insecure.
