Thank you so much for this video! I own this model of laptop and could not figure out how to open it until you mentioned the hidden screws under the rubber feet. Thanks to you, I managed to open it, clean out the dust I had and made sure the battery was connected. Saved me a trip to the computer repair shop!

This video was very thorough thank you. I have a question regarding only the touchpad. Mine is lifting in in the front and is not function for mouse clicking. Does the lifting mean that something is wrong with it or did it just pop out and can be put back in by opening the laptop? Thanks

_Question if anyone knows the ins-and-outs of ASUS flip laptops:_
I have both a U504U and a U525U. Both functionally work ok. But the 504's left hinge for the screen completely broke from the base and cracked the screen a bit in the corner. Internally, I don't care about the 504 -- it's too old.
    >>>> Can the 504's *[SILVER] keyboard and mouse pad and surroundings* successfully replace the 525's *[BLACK] keyboard and mouse pad and surroundings* ? I prefer the 504's *SILVER keyboard and surroundings* instead of the 525's black.

dumb Queston, were you able to remove the cpu?

It looks like you could remove and replace the touchpad by removing the battery and HD is that essentially correct?

Is this any good if I'm in the market for something under $500?
Or, what would be a decent brand and/or model??

I'm missing the charger for my computer of the same model and wondering how to get the c type charger working for it, if that's even possible

      c-type? Like USB-C?

    • @hcookRN
      @hcookRN Před 3 lety

@@Sellbrokedotcom yes, exactly. It has a USB c port on the side but it won't charge using it, I don't know if that's possible or not in the first place though

    I didn't see the M.2 port
    Does it have one?
    Edit:
I noticed, you do reply to the comments, so let me expand the question
What steps do you make to replace the hard drive with the m.2 stick like this:
    CT2000P5SSD8 ?

It looks like it takes a NVMe 2280 size in that slot between the battery and hard drive. It may be worth saving some money and getting a smaller capacity SSD for the OS and any gaming or graphics apps, and using your spinning hard drive to archive stuff. After you install the SSD, enter the BIOS and boot from your Windows install USB or disc, then load windows onto the SSD. You may have to disconnect the hard drive at first to prevent it from booting Windows. After Windows is installed on the SSD, make sure the BIOS boots from that drive and not the hard drive. Enjoy the huge speed boost.

@@Sellbrokedotcom so does it take PCIe or SATA3 ssd? I heard it only takes SATA3 ssd not PCIe. It's hard to find the exact information on google or asus website itself. Please, help me choose the right ssd.
