Megyn Kelly slams USWNT as ‘morons’ who are ‘poisoned’ by Megan Rapinoe: ‘I hope they lose’

- Megyn Kelly called the US women’s soccer team “morons” for their lack of patriotism during the Women’s World Cup and said fading star Megan Rapinoe has “poisoned” the squad.
The two-time defending champs have generated more controversy than goals at the tournament after many of the starters were seen standing silently and stoically during the national anthem.
Rapinoe, 38, who helped guide the team to victory four years ago, has been coming off the bench as a sub during the current tournament, which kicked off last week in Australia and New Zealand.
Despite the diminished role, the blue-haired Rapinoe maintains an outsize influence over the younger players, Kelly said.
“Megan Rapinoe, she’s the leader of all this,” Kelly told listeners of her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show” on Tuesday.

I miss players like Mia Hamm, Brandi Chastain, and Julie Foudy. Back when US women's soccer was worth watching. And when the most controversial thing was Chastain taking off her jersey to show her black sports bra while celebrating a World Cup win (I still don't know why that was controversial, lol, and I don't care).

I'm from India and if we have an opportunity to represent the country.. wear the flag colors we would play like warriors. And yell the national anthem . It's so sad to see such disgraceful proud and arrogant people playing the world game of football which is the meaning of respect and sportsmanship. ... I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine, and it struck me how people living in this incredible nation, known as the United States of America, feel an immense sense of pride in being here. People from around the world aspire to move to the USA, envisioning their children proudly embodying the future American spirit and ideals.
Consider Dest, the Dutch footballer who wholeheartedly wanted to don the American colors and sing the American Anthem. On the flip side, it's disheartening to see the All-American women's team expressing a lack of pride in their nationality. Nonetheless, in the grand scheme of things, this might not matter much, as they are likely to secure multimillion-dollar contracts. Their focus seems to be more on financial gain than on representing and respecting their country, akin to noble warriors.
Let's cheer on the USMST, a team that fights like valiant warriors and takes immense pride in wearing the colors of our great nation.

Yeh but the US mens don't lose 20-0 vs an under 14's boys team. If you put a bunch of 13 year old boys into the womens world cup, they would have a star for every world cup women ever played.

A lot of stupidity out here these days. Go back to any sport at any time where the anthem was played with the athletes actually in the field and they never at any point would sing along. Some may stand with their hands on their hearts but you rarely saw someone sing. Just say you don't like these people and get on with your lives.

I'm not American but I wish to learn about acceptable behaviour and culture in America. I've read all the comments and this what they said. 1. Free speech and the expression of belief that are guaranteed in your country's Constitution and for which people have given their lives to defend are only OK as long as people agree with you. 2. If they don't, they deserve to lose. 3. If you disagree with someone it's appropriate to speak rudely and meanly about them, and to completely dismiss them as human beings. 4. News hosts such as Megan Kelly are respected for this. 5. There is a correlation between being woke and an inability to win matches. 6. Minority sexualities are the reason a soccer team loses. The straight players are all too dumb not to fall under their evil influence. 7. True patriotism is rejoicing in your own national team losses, hating some players, and completely erasing all the USNWT have done for Women's soccer. 8. Soccer players should not be expressing their opinions about
Women's soccer (or anything for that matter) unless it's Carly Lloyd because we agree with her. Did I get it right? If I did perhaps we Aussies can adopt these attitudes and beliefs so that we too can become as divided, tribal, and irrational as the USA! The future looks bright.

If you’re a national player representing the country then you should behave in a class manner and try to be role model for youngsters. You represent the face of the US. If you behave wrongfully, then the circumstances will follow. I think this is the reason why so many Americans don’t care much about losing the World Cup.

You are making politics out of sports, just as players are doing and now we have the results. Yes, say their wrong for focusing on their agenda and politics instead of their game. The USA would have been better represented if we had put dresses on the boys team that kicked their A$$es in an expedition games earlier. Afterall, they were promoting alphabet and trans every time one of them was interviewed. Just my opinion.?
