Lots of great concepts given here when it comes to learning MUs in any FG
Learn how to deal with the opponent's important tools by figuring out how to avoid the situation.
What are the properties?
What ranges do you play at?
What tools do you have to stop or check it?
If you get caught by that situation, what are your options on block/hit? Which you've mentioned on stream.
Then you get to the next layer which is figuring out how to beat their counter play.
Repeat the same process for the counter play.
I think many players only test out one idea, find out it doesn't work and stop there.
It's a whole process, what fails is just more info to figure out what works
