I love Yusei, he's a such great character but he had his moments of vulnerability especially against Roman where he cried out in guilt
5D's is my favorite yugioh anime!
The only Yu-Gi-Oh! spinoff that comes close to the original, both subbed and dubbed. Greg Abbey's performance as Yusei is a huge reason why. He was incredible! 😁

Sure but the lack of censorship and the music of the sub make it a much better work of art imo.

I mean. Not that the Original was bad but It IS Overrated and is getting tring old how people in the fanbase doesn't stop putting it so high. They should stop that, and start seeing things with quality sense ( things and products how they really are) not with nostalga googles though

Great video. I didnt know about the yusei gears wich is such a cool concept. This series has so much symbolism and cool visuals.

I want to do something with Aki, but I want to start a series on character archetypes with Crow as an example for one. I definitely want to branch out beyond anime
The police officer is also the guy who was bullying, Tristan, and Joey in that flashback episode in the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series
The moment when Yusei is dueling Rex’s brother and he almost breaks down into tears because he can’t even understand why his friends would so much as smile at him because he blames himself for what his father caused sold me on him as a protagonist.
Same, that scene alone inspired a whole video that i want to do once the strike is over
5ds showed a really great story of character growth
I think you should do the other characters of Yugioh 5ds like Crow and Aki since they get a lot of moments in the anime.
I have something planned for Aki, but Crow is actually going to be part of an "archetype" character study series I want to do
@@bitkingdt Yay Aki was my favourite female character of all of Yugioh since she was the first female character to duel well and have an interesting part of the story. My new favourite is Skye Zaizen/Blue Angel.

@vittoriomassaro8131 except extremely cool as well. Yuma used to be a bad duelist too. And he grows to not need help for dueling, and becomes probably the strongest in existence

This ones about Yusei
honestly. I found 5ds the most dissatisfying. the threat was always city level, and the protagonist either wins or the duel gets interrupted. Why would I enjoy a character that didn't appear to grow in skill from his losses when he visually appeared unbeatable. Like why would to watch a character that played perfectly almost all the time.
Yusei only got worse as the show went on and he became an emotionless robot Gary Stu.

What are you talking about? Dub Yusei was great, line delivery was on point, and his original character was kept intact. However, when it comes to the dub of Yu-protagonists solely on how they sound, Yuma is the weakest one in my opinion.
That's why i never watch Dubs anymore. Chldlish comercial catchphrases. In OG Japanese versions they always talk wth natural real life language, a language that feels as " not used for just a show " ( at least as far as Subs show me), that's always great n shows though
