      Always check the label, even in the fresh meat section. Usually frozen meat has no additives for some reason.

    A friend of mine works at a cow milking place, whatever those are called. He said they test their milk and it tests negative for some specific bacteria, but the people buying the milk have been complaining about it having the bacteria. So, they started selling off the cows. Idk if it's another way of getting rid of our beef supply, avoiding fake fires

    Wait until you hear about bagged lettuce, oats, and more plant foods having been recalled repeatedly over the years. I’m not too worried about something like this, it’s not common. I’d like to know a number, how many plant recalls vs. how many raw meats. Glad you shared, I hadn’t heard about the recall.

    The Butcher at my local MAJOR grocery chain told me MUCH of the red meat is now coming from China but they are not required to put on label "made in China" because they buy in bulk and repack separately and state it's made in the USA. We all know what comes from China, don't we.

      @@rollandklontz I really do believe that, for me eating this way has been a money saver, and I'm not even talking about medicines.
      There's a big fundamental difference, where I live , Campinas-SP/Brazil, meet is way cheaper than in the US and the usual here is freshly grounded beef. Every supermarket has a butcher shop section and cheap meat here is grass fed grain fed stuff is more high end
      - Generic ground beef $2.75/kg $1.25/lbs
      - Ribeye steak, choice can be found for $5.52/kg $2.38/lbs the 4 to 6 kg piece , usual price $6.90/kg $3.13/lbs
      - Ribeye steak, prime $8.86/kg $4.02/lbs, at swift store
      - Brisket $4.93/kg $2.24
      - Cow's heart $1.38/kg 63¢/lbs ( I eat it and give it to my cats) , the dog gets salmon's head 39¢/kg 18¢/lbs
      - beef liver $1.78/kg 81¢/lbs
      - Picanha/tender sirloin $9.86/kg $4.48/lbs
      - Filet mignon $11.83/kg $5.37/lbs

      - Eggs $1.92/dozen
      - Fresh 100% ham toscan style sausage $3.36/kg $1.53/lbs
      - Fresh sardines filet $5.13/kg 2.33/lbs
      - Mozzarella cheese $5.92/kg 6.69/lbs

    • @rollandklontz
      @rollandklontz Před 2 měsíci +2

      @bernhardjordan9200 you are right there's is a big difference.
      Everyone knows fresh gound beef, and grass fed beef is substantially better, but not everyone can afford the $9.99 lbs for ground beef. Let alone the $15 a lb for rib eye. So baragin priced mass produced ground beef at $4 a lb is all they can afford

    QQQstarted the lion diet May 1....only question Ihave is....how do you cook the meat without fat?? I underfstand beef, salt and water....but how does one actually cook the meat?? I thot fat was a main component of the carnivore diet...brains need fat.... ive been using rendered beef (tallow) and organic ghee....all the vids ive seen say just meat salt and water...but none have addressed how to cook it...don;'t have an air fryer....HELP!! btw my why is to heal hashimotos and then lose approx 40 lbs. thanks

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  Před 2 měsíci

      I have many videos cooking meat, but I was where you were when I started. The air fryer was a godsend! I’m still pretty much only proficient with the air fryer. As for grilling, cast iron cooking, etc. there are tons of videos on CZcams for cooking meat, just remember that if you’re on Lion Diet you’ll want to avoid any ingredients in the cooking process other than sea salt of some kind. Also with the air fryer there’s no need for oil or butter or fat for cooking. Tallow is great for greasing the pan/grill in other cooking situations (Wagyu tallow even comes in a spray version at South Chicago Meat Packing Co.)

      @@FerrignoFreedom thanks for responding!! i love eating just meat-- read that lion diet is especially good for autoimmune(in my case hashimotos)...first started carnivor at end of feb...and my antibodies dropped from 2300 to around 900 in the first 30 days..and my ANA(antinulclear antibodies dropped below Zero--My doc was very happy....yay!! seems like watvhing the vids on cooking those ribeyes etc used so much more fat...I am rendering the fat from newly purchased qrtr....love the taste...I started looking at the airfryers....ay have to bit the bullet unless I just keep using my cast iron skillet knowing it will take more cleaning...ANYWAY....thanks again. roar on!!!

    • @trail.blazer
      @trail.blazer Před 2 měsíci +3

      I don't use an air fryer. Most of our local meat is very good but normally has a lot of the fat trimmed off. I cook in a pan with tallow and often have a slice of cold butter with it. Occasionally I use some grass fed ghee but not often. I'm not lion diet, so can be a bit flexible.

    • @deedledaddledeedledaddle722
      @deedledaddledeedledaddle722 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@trail.blazer thanks for responding...i have a good cst iron skillet and a heavy stainless stelel one...since im pretty much a newbie to coarnivore...i remember watching MANY vids by well known carnivores saying be sure to get enuf fat...like a stick of butter/tallow a day... and twice as much fat as protein.....so it has been hard learning that we can forget all the lies we were told about the dangers of fat in our diet. and now with the lion diet we are back t o very little fat again...sort of confusing....Im glad what you are doing is working for you..stay the course!

    • @trail.blazer
      @trail.blazer Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@deedledaddledeedledaddle722 That might be too much fat. See how much you can tolerate. I found 60g of butter a day plus some extra tallow (or bacon) and a bit of fat on meat is good. I know because if I eat too much more than that it has a _slightly_ negative effect on poop being too soft. I do mean slightly, so I think I've found my sweet spot.
      A stick of butter a day is what some of the influencers do but how big is the stick? Our sticks are 500g so that would be way too much, despite my seeing some influencers eating that size.
      When it comes to protein, you possibly already realise that around a quarter of red meat is protein. For me that means around 300g of beef is good and I vary between 250g and 400g.
