    In Idaho she is the one who would be getting fined. It's illegal to interfere with a person lawfully taking game. Something several California transplants learn every year.

      Don't know why they would think that. Interfering with hunters or shooters, falconry,fishing things like that is illegal in California too. I would guess that it is most likely illegal in all the states to interfere with Hunter's.

      In Michigan you dont even need tags, in fact a Concealed Pistol License is all that required for pigs you don't even need a hunting license.

    Wouldn't surprise me to hear that Paula leaves out her kitchen scraps in the yard to attract them. Property damage is not her concern because she's a renter.

  • @SheepdogsHeart
    @SheepdogsHeart Před 4 lety +222

    Ya, Paula is just an average anti-hunter. From my experience, no amount of facts from a hunter can persuade an anti that they are in the wrong. Usually takes a badge to get through to them. I had some anti's leaving threats on my truck. They actually waited for me at my truck one day and read me the riot act. Then one made the mistake of calling Fish and Game to report me. I patiently waited for the warden and when he got there they immediately told him how I was a poacher killing their animals. He calmly checked my license and tags, and told them I was legally entitled to hunt there. They said that they fed the deer, and would follow me with air horns if I ever came back. At that the warden became THE WARDEN! He told them that those deer belonged to the State, and asked each of them for their ID. He pulled out his citation book and let them know he was writing them up for feeding the wildlife. They stood there with their mouths open. He further informed them that if he got a call from any hunters about being harassed things would be taken to the next level. At that point he sent me on my way as my smirk and giggles weren't helping matters.
    The lesson I learned: Know the law pertaining to your particular area and don't cross any lines and don't argue with the antis, let the law handle them.

      @mikeries8549 Před 4 lety +4

      @Horvtio when you break laws you can get arrested. They handcuff you, take you to jail, and process you. Then the judge RORs you or you post bail and he gives you a court date and asks you to plead guilty or innocent. Then finally you go to court again to get judgement passed then sentencing. It's a pita. Think about that before you harass hunters that are hunting. They might have badges. Some do.

    • @TombstoneHeart
      @TombstoneHeart Před 4 lety +22

      The "Bambi Syndrome." I like that! This reminds me of a story a workmate told me and it pretty much fits in with the Bambi Syndrome. He has a friend who owns a large acreage property in the south-west of Western Australia and he lives there alone in a pretty much off-the-grid lifestyle and mostly lives off what he can catch, trap or shoot on his property.
      My workmate and his girlfriend travelled down south to spend a week with him and the first night they were there, his mate served up a dinner of locally caught marron, a species of freshwater crayfish. The girlfriend couldn't eat enough of it and raved on about how delicious it all was.
      The next night he did a roast leg of a wallaby he had shot - and she flatly refused to eat one mouthful of it! She told both of them that were both cruel and heartless and it was just so disgusting that they would want to eat such a cute little animal. Basically, she totally fucked up what should have been a very relaxing and restful week off work in some pretty special surroundings.
      The lessons I took from my mate's ruined week off work was, 1 ) Never take a woman with you if you're going to be shooting your own dinner and, 2 ) If you can't avoid having her with you, never tell her what she is eating!

      There would also be a lot less cattle because they’ve got to kill the cattle’s predators and if there’s less cattle that means less meat in the stores and also a price raise in meat to. It's usually the lonely older women that have issue with anything they don't agree with politically. I had one once call the local drug task force on a contractor paving our large parking lot. She said they looked like drug dealers b/c they were all wearing the same colors... they were wearing the bright neon yellow reflector vests and actively paving. I'll admit she had some mental issues. However she called it in in a way that caused half of the city's police force to show up with rifles. I also had another one call immigration on the spanish family that lived in the apartment behind her b/c they were parking too many cars in the parking lot. She didn't have a car, but claimed these illegals r making it impossible for people to use the lot. Before any of this happened I had already informed her that they're from Puerto Rico...

    I dont argue it try to reason with insane people. First off, she has no idea how destructive and dangerous these sals and boars can be. Ask her about that. I had a woman walk up to us leading a horse as we were burd hunting a private field by owner permission. We as seasoned hunters know the exact laws. I videotape them, ask them their address but trick them into having fish and game pay a visit to voice their concerns. Unknown to them, I have already pressed charges. The harrasment stopped.

  • @WallStreetYT
    @WallStreetYT Před 3 lety +5

    Any attempt to speak or reason with her, you were talked over. There's no way to have a productive conversation with someone like that. It's unfortunate to have to get in touch with the property owner but either He or the cops would have to intervene in order to set her straight. Your video proves completely honorable and civil communication between all parties. Handled in the best way possible given the circumstances. Well done!

    it is easy to become hostile back to those that interfere in hunts and that know nothing about the laws. i ve seen many a dust up kick off for stuff like this.
    good on you for being calm, courteous.....and confident in your knowledge.

    You know, it's the small things like that "Good job Mike" that are really inspiring me to transition from being happy without kids to making me potentially wanting to have kids someday. It's something about the innocents of a child and feeling the urge to responsibility of protecting that to maturation in an unforgiving world. I guess that's obvious, but only when the tangible representational reminder hits you is the thin distracted veneer peeled back and you realize that you are bereft of something potentially your raison d'etre... or magnum opus.

    You did the right thing by staying courteous and polite even though she was a pain in the rear. Personally, I don't hunt so if there is any advice I could give, it would be study up and know the local laws concerning what you're doing during the hunt, which looks like you have. Otherwise, great video and example on how to handle this type of situation.

    I've ran into this a couple of times. once the neighbor fired up a remote controlled airplane and buzzed my tree stand. Then he called the land owner and said we were using high power rifles (a lie) . the owner said it was too much of a hassle and we were done. second neighbor at a different location let his dog (a large malamute) out 5 minutes before hunting light every opening morning and when he knew we were there. talked to the owner who said "If that dog comes on my land shoot it, his owner has been over here complaining, and i told him we support hunting"! still hunting there today!!!

    Be kinda fun, to watch her try to interact with one of those feral hogs, she seems to think she’s ‘protecting’, like put the two of them, in a large fenced in yard, & get out the popcorn...
    (Clearly the type, that gets all uncomfortable, & cringey, with the mere presence of a gun, in the same room)..
