Third season of the Kings and Generals animated historical documentary series on the Early Muslim Expansion starts with the aftermath of the battles against the Sassanid and Eastern Roman empires at Yarmouk and al-Qadisiyyah ( • Early Muslim Expansion... ) and battles of Ctesiphon, Alexandria, Nikiou, Jerusalem, Sufetula, Heliopolis, and Nahavand ( • Early Muslim Expansion... ). We are going to cover the aftermath of the beginning of the First Fitna (Civil War) in the Rashidun Caliphate ( • First Muslim Civil War... ) and the battle of Siffin of 657, which led to the rise of the Umayyad Caliphate ( • Battle of Siffin 657 -... ), external expansion continued with the siege of Constantinople in 674-678, but this didn't stop the Second Fitna from happening, leading to the battles of Karbala (680) and Marj Rahit (684) ( • Constantinople 674-678... ). We also previously talked about the conclusion of the Second Fitna and the rise and fall of the Zubayrid Caliphate ( • Second Civil War in th... ). In another episode the armies of the Caliphate return to the frontiers, clashing with the crumbling Byzantine Empire in Armenia and North Africa. In the latter, they would not find opposition not just in the Roman remnant, as the rise of a new warrior queen among the Berbers posed a serious challenge to Hassan ibn al-Nu’man’s conquering army in the Maghreb. And even as the Umayyads won victories on the battlefield and expanded ever further, the cohesion and unity of their empire continued to deteriorate on their Eastern frontiers, planting the seeds of their eventual collapse. And we will also discuss how Carthage was razed once again ( • Carthage Razed Again -... ). This new episode will focus on the first Muslim incursion into India, as we discuss the Sindh campaign that allowed the Arabs to gain a foothold in the subcontinent.

@@muslimresponse103 well you are entitled to your opinions and so are they, academia has a large divide based on propaganda - especially in History and social sciences. Its usually people pick sides based on ideology, Religion, etc. and build their beliefs further - nothing much wrong because this help prevent brainwashing, but thats how things are
As for if there was or not a genocide - India/ Hinduism is the sole remaining major polytheistic Religion/ Civilization - says the violence it survived. The rulers - from their loot of Somnath Temple to Jahangir killing the Sikh Guru and Aurangzeb documenting his details of the violence against kafirs/non believers (Hindus), from Timur to the permanent destruction/razing of Hampi, says it all !! when the tyrants themselves recorded what they did in the name of Religion, when this channel itself mentions how the fellow got his life saved by "conversion to Islam" - then why the denialism??

Well, the Arabs did not achieve anything in India. They tried to invade India but the Arabs were defeated by the south Indian Chalukya Dynasty and the north Indian Pratihara Dynasty. This stopped the Arab expansion in the east
The Umayyad dynasty had very little interest in the East so anything that occurred in the Eastern frontier of the Caliphate could considered boarder skirmish es compared to their Western expansion.

A receding hairline is indeed like the border of a crumbling empire.
The Jats of Kikan fought the Arabs for 20 years, successfully crushing them and remaining unconquerable permanently until the Turkic invasions (even then being extremely difficult to fight). Bappa Rawal united the Rajputs and drove back the Arabs to the Iranian plateau, hereby ending in climactic Indian victory over the Muslims.

There is very interesting story behind this conquest as well.
Good video thanks 👍🏻
thanks for informative videos.
It would be interesting to know how Pakistanis are taught this in their history? ( seriously no offence to anyone.)
It maybe that Islam brought light to your people, but also you cannot deny the hardships during the chaos of war.
@@debarghapaul866 Hello Paul, it depends on where you study. In Karachi (port city of Sindh) there is a different perspective while in interior there is more Sindh eccentric view.
Muhammad Bin Qasim is praised for him bringing Islam. But Raja Dahir is also seen as a hero for resisting invaders.
So we from Sindh have more view on this situation than other provinces.
Please cover the battle of bahraich 1033 AD its was a massive war after which led to a massive gap of 150 year of Afghan invasion of India
Amazing Video.
Muhammad bin Qasim is considered a person of great importance in the history of Pakistan. To this day we hold great respect for his conquest of Sindh. However, Raja Dahir is also considered a national hero among other nationalists for his bravery against invaders. This makes it a complicated and rhetorical topic. Thank you for bringing up this usually ignored topic of our history. The conquest of Sindh holds great significance in the history of the modern-day Islamic republic of Pakistan as it would form the basis for the spread of Islam in the sub-continent and the further incursions of subsequent Muslim Empires in this region.
Raja Dahir is considered hero because he fought and gave his life against invaders but Muhammad Bin Qasim is also viewed good because he spread Islam.
The umayyad dynasty was the most brutal and cruel dynasties in the history of this world. They even slaughtered the family of Prophet Muhammad.
“Pakistan” did not exist back then..
@@smooky12 Pakistanis don't care about that. They don't care that their ancestors (Hindus, Buddhists and Jains of Indic Civilization living in the Indus Valley) were slaughtered and humiliated and went through massive cultural and economic degradation. They don't care that these invaders destroyed their own cities, temples, universities, libraries etc. Rather, they celebrate the massacres and destruction and glorify the invaders, all because they spread Islam.
@@smooky12 True, and arabian scholars say that if the rashidun Chalifate existed little more longer the slavery in the arabian Peninsula would end!
I'm so exiticed to see next video of Alexander's campaign especially battle of hydaspes
I'm dieing to see the next episode cause as a Spaniard it always made me curious how could they manage to conquer the peninsula so quickly with so few troops. Im waiting impatiently to have my prejudices wronged and explained.
As someone who studied north african history a lot, the reasons are simple.
The conquerors were not all arabs and muslims, the vast majority of them were Berbers and Latins from north africa, most of them were newly recruits and religious zeolotry was not born yet, few years ago they followed arianism ( branch of christianity the promotes the humanity of christ and many believe it is what later developed into Islam ) like many iberians, they also spoke African Latin and it is the reason why spaniards today confuse v with b. It is an African Latin trait, because the Latin there got mixed with Punic from the days of Carthage, Punic like arabic and hebrew tend to mix the sounds v and b.
So we have conquerors that share almost the same religion, the same language and have a long history with Iberia, no wonder the native did not feel estranged by these aliens and some even joined them gainst the visigoth from northern europe.
As oppose to the rather northafricanized narrative, that denies the fact that the Visigoth had largely latinize by this point and thru admixture fused with the native hispanoroman population after centhuries since the visigoths had entered Hispania as clients of the Roman state, the inhabitants of Iberia had little in common with the incresingly arabized and islamicized northafrican population, true as it might be that in the urban regions of NA the romance speaking tongues endured for a time, that latin identity would eventually fade away through cultural assimilation to arab muslim society. As for linguistic affinity iberoromace had native influences distinct from the numidian/punic influences in northwestern afroromance languages.
Hispanoroman society was at this point predomenantely Catholic, Arrianism was largely a gothic phenomena and with the conversion of the visigothic crown to Catholicism the elite had folded to the latin Church.
One does not need to resort to fancifull arguments of "cultural affinity" to explain a conquest, afterall the Huns did not rely on cultural affinity for the conquest of roman territory neither did nomadic mongols had much in common with the vast settle chinese population they ruled upon, the fact is that a rapid conquest by a mobile and effectively lead army on horseback is a common ocurrence in preindustrial history, aided by co-option of local elites, political fragmentation of opponents and in some instances diseases/natural disasters.
Neither Pizarro nor Cortez had anything in common with the natives they commanded or conquered, it took a mixture of pragmatism, cunning, audacity and viciousness as in all major conquests, such was the case of the moorish capture of much of Iberia.
