- We did it again…Another day, another build - join us once again as we completely transform Brian’s new GR86 from stock to an absolute track machine…okay not a track machine just yet but definitely a track contender. Over the last two years we have been stock-piling a HUGE list of parts to be fitted and we’re super excited to finally get them on. But don’t worry, this isn’t the last you’ll see of the GR86. Honestly never been a fan of borla but they do use them on the North American GR cup cars and they do sound pretty good

20:20 if you’re using headers that big you should have a tune whether or not a check engine light is triggered also a tune will prevent a check engine light more than any other part on that header Becuase the only reason it would get a light is because the engine has more exhaust coming out than it realizes
We will definitely be getting a tune soon! The O2 defouler is just a temporary fix until then :)

clean red GR86 man. I just ordered the trd kit for the front and side but not the back and i have a red GR aswell! i also have a full cusco rear suspension aswell but i noticed you guys installed the rear lower control arm incorrectly. I didnt watch the full video yet but the rear lower control arm has a plate that fills in the hole where the coil over bolt goes - did you install that part afterwards?

How was the HKS Headers fitment? I'm planning on getting them but not sure if it's worth the pain if the fitment from gen 1 to 2 is any different.
I have an exhaust on my GR86 that not that many people have, it's the Greddy Evo GT. It was meant for cars with forced induction so the pipe diameter is much bigger. It makes it have a lot of rumble without changing the headers and front pipes which I like. But it vibrates a crazy amount to the point where it's unbearable, but I love the sound of it so it's worth it.

How does the HKS UEL (originally designed for GT86) perform on the GR86? Any fitment issue or performance loss?
It sounds sounds and performs fine! Was after the boxer rumble so had to get a header from the previous vehicle. If only HKS made UEL Headers for the newer car!

It's because of the unequal length headers. It changes the tone to create the Subi rumble.
Why install unequal length headers I always thought they caused problems in the old suby and sti engines?

What was making that blowoff valve sound?
We are not sure! Some added sound after adding the non resonated front pipe. It definitely sounds good! It is definitely not a leak so that is good!

Our TRD Style Full Kit for Toyota GR86 (ZN8) 22+ is $888 AUD. The kit probably took us 1hr-2hrs to install.

What was the horsepower incease with all the mods?
Roughly around +85 horsepower and if we give it a stage 7 tune it will probably push it to +90 horsepower.

Should’ve went with Tomei, aero flow dynamics or awe exhaust.
None of those are quad. They went with bumper with quad cutouts, now they all in on quad. Plus that Sards exhaust is incredible. Did you not hear it? I kind of feel like you just didn’t watch the video. Similar to the other commenter who asked about wheel size and camber angle
