“Full set syndrome” is real. But such a satisfaction when you have them. I quite enjoy these, they are a great budget pencil and do the job well.

Hey Lisa I don't comment often cause I watch you on my tv . But I'm so glad you do long videos I love them. I can't watch the coloring book videos cause I would be ordering books galore lol. But love the swatching videos I binged on them while you were out with your eye surgery.I also had eye surgery in October a membrane peel on my right eye. I just think your channel is amazing

Ooooow, I also love my afmat sharpener. When I have new pencils I sharpen as I swatch, so sharpen-swatch-put it in pencilcase. I used to do that with a hand sharpener you attach to your desk and have to turn the handle. It hurt my hand at the end so I couldn't color. So when I saw this Afmat sharpener I bought it right away and it came in handy when I had to swatch out my 520 Brutfuner set..........I only had to charge the Afmat once and it is still going after, I think 2 years now. There are large pencilcases with single loops by the way, I hate those loops where you can fit in 2 or 3, because the order of them can change and you can get out the wrong color pencil when you look at the chart and think you have the right one. I had that once and it frustrated me having them in the wrong order each time when I took 1 or 2 out. Even for my Brutfuner it is a very big single loop case, it fits 500 pencils. I didn't put in the metallic ones and only a few pencils are left loose in it.
I've been looking for these Kalour sets too, but I really am not very fond of sets when there's no seperate pencils for sale to them, what's it called, open stock? That's why I allways go back to my Polychromos.

Just received my kalour 300 set today. I havent used them yet but i know i will like them. As a beginner i think its a waist of money to dpend $300 or more on derwent etc. This set will be a nice addition to my other pencils.

I also have full set syndrome. Lol 😆 not just with coloring, but books, furniture, appliances. U name it, I need it to match.
I'm impressed with how protected they were in the packaging. My prisma colors just came in an Amazon box. With a little bit of those air bags. They are terrible. I'm pretty sure they were dropped on their way to me because they continuously break.
@AmberDP100 If you don't like your Prismacolors constantly breaking, please look into the 72 Karismacolor colored pencils that are just better quality Prismacolors made in Japan.
Prismas are known for breaking - but I have learned after using them for years they are also very picky about the sharpener you use with them. I use one of three sharpeners and it has drastically reduced the breakage - T'Gaal adjustable sharpener - set to 2, Mobius & Ruppert brass sharpener, and AFMAT electric sharpener

Listening to you colouring, they sound very scratchy. How do they feel, are they on the softer side? Mine are still traveling, it is in the country and has cleared customs so it should be here soon.
Cochineal: Ku-chu-neel. It's the bug they use for the red foodcoloring nr 120.

You may not be aware, but they use the gray scale for lightfastness in addition to the Blue Wool scale. I am very confused by all the lightfastnes scales! But I do know Blue Wool uses a scale of 8 to 1. ASTM uses 5 to 1. Grey Scale uses 3 -1 I think. And I think there are one or two more lightfastness scales...VERY CONFUSING!
Just learned something. The 240 set numbers are different then the 300. I am saving up for the 300 set because it's the fastest way for me to replace the colors I have went through. They are very much like the arteza but you can feel the difference even slight as it is arteza is thicker being 4mm. But I have my arteza and kalour are together. I put them in open cup holders. But love them hence why I want the 300.
They are close but some you swatched are like maybe a single number off.

Yes there are pastel and metallic colors in this set.

why are so many of them round? I prefer hexagonal ones and it was hard to find a set of those.
Yah most pencils are round. In some sets, the round ones are the regular pencils and the hexagonal ones are watercolor. But not always.

I have the 50 color pastel set. I was surprised at the quality. They were easy to blend on regular drawing with my finger on a Canson 1557 Drawing Pad. I was impressed that they had a lightfastness rating on each pencil
I would have liked another yellow such as a medium shade, but I found the 50 color palette was good for plain air painting. I also like the hinged tin
