I wonder how bad his house smelled after he used to the whole pack of cigarettes for that one experiment. I smoked for over 15 years and recently started vaping about 3 months ago and now I noticed the smell of cigarettes and I'm like, "holy shit that's what I smelled like all those years"!

I see many issues with this experiment. 1 being, a vaper almost immediately exhales vape for maximum flavor and cloud production. Especially someone vaping 0MG freebase e liquid. The vapor was left in the jar too long and caused it to turn into exactly what it started out as, moisture. 2nd being that, the tank was being drained at a staggering rate. The coil was more than likely subjected to extreme heat from the continuous firing. No real user will take multiple 10+ second (power cut off) hits like that. The coil as I said, more than likely began to burn causing the cotton mesh inside the coil to singe and forced to be inhaled by the experimental jar. Which is not good for anyone, whenever a user experiences a burnt coil, it is usually the closest iteration of inhaling satans fart you can achieve. With all that being stated, it was a decent experiment. Vaping is much better thank cigarette smoking.

And you have also to take into count people usually change their coils after the taste become less pleasurable and nobody suck from their vapes constantly as the machine does. It's not a critique to your experiment, which demonstrate very clearly how even in this extreme settings with constant flow of vapor, with "lungs" made of cotton which doesn't have means to absorb or remove anything that's put inside, still it remains clear colored with no bad smell, even if you didn't change the coils as anyone would have done after such an intense use! Sure there should still be serious research that goes beyond what we see with our own bare eyes and now, that we can reach many people that have only vaped, no cigs, since almost ten years, it should be the right time to conduct some statistical analysis and inquire about possible side effects of vaping from unbiased (from both parts) researchers....What I can personally say is when I smoked a pack a day I couldn't even yawn without feeling pain in my lungs and doing stares made me hurt my chest, almost immediately after stopping cigs those pains have gone and after 7 years of vaping only they never came back.
There's no scientific basis for this experiment. The conditions are unrealistic. Our lungs are complex organs, not cotton. If lungs were like this, one day in a humid place would result in pneumonia.

The liquid in the cotton after the experiment was done is vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol - both are safe and even used in IV medicines. Your lungs can absorb both of these chemicals and then they do get metabolised by your liver. Not only that but nobody constantly vapes like that and they exhale, too. The colouring of the cotton is most likely due to the vape liquid leaking inside of the "fake lung" as colours do not vaporise but tend to soak the cotton inside of the coil and burn it.

I watched my Father die I pronounced his death personally. And Now 46 years old I have Lung disease. I admit I was A Stupid ass. I wish I never started smoking and Listened to my Dad.

I smoked for many years and have vaped for the last ten. The differences are huge. I haven't had a cold, the flu, stuffy nose or any of the other respiratory problems that used to frequently plague me. My clothes don't stink. The walls of the house don't turn a sticky yellow. Furnishings and upholstery are no longer yellowed and sticky. The house doesn't smell like stale cigarettes. My car doesn't smell. Vaping, compared to cigarettes is very inexpensive, so I've saved a TON of money. I no longer have to "plan" for my next cigarette. I can vape anywhere. It takes a lot of stress off. It only took one time vaping and I never looked back. Never wanted another cigarette. I had two full cartons left and I gave them away. I can't imagine ever smoking a cigarette again.
R. McBride. I'm really glad to hear that. It gives me hope because my wife and I just bought a couple vapes last night and that is the goal. We figured out the cost and we are spending 375$ a month on friggin ciggs! We both still enjoy smoking. I know that's probably not a very "politically correct" thing to say nowadays but it's the truth. Why not find a way to do it cheaper and I think, healthier.
@Steven Bennett Good for you guys! You'll do fine. I recommend watching a couple of how-to videos so you get the hang of the inhale, etc. The draw is somewhat different than a regular cigarette. There will also be some questions about how to fill, what to do if it floods, how to tell if the batteries need a recharge, etc. Normal stuff, but confounding for newcomers. Don't feel bad about not wanting to quit completely. My enjoyment and the cost factor were two of my motivators when opting for vaping. 😊 Good luck and enjoy!

I’ve been vaping 6 years now and recently had x-rays done where you could see my lungs (the x-ray was to see how bad of shape my spine is in due to scoliosis). The doctor said I have very clear and healthy lungs :) I’m not worried.
Vaping saved my sister's life. We all smoked in our family. At 25 she was told that her lung were only working 35%. By 28 she was on oxygen and was in and out of ICUs. They didn't think she would make it a year. We all started vaping to keep smoke away from her. It's been six years. She's off oxygen. Her lungs work at about 80% now. Not perfect but amazing for her. She just seems to be doing better and better every year. Her doctors got together and are writing a paper on her case and if this could save more life's.

I would say not starting to smoke/vape at all is the healthiest way to live. I do belive that you can save people that smoke a lot with vaping, but still vaping is not really healthy.

Actually human lungs remove condensed vapor and water really efficiently, so that kinda vape vapor would leave your lungs very fast leaving nothing behind. If your lungs couldn't remove vapor and water you would drown while going to a hot shower or while boiling water in the kitchen. So compared to cigarettes vaping did no noticeable harm what so ever.
Yes and this test is very incorrect by the simple fact that our damn lungs are not being filtered by cotton. I can post my video if you would like similar without the cotton and there is almost nothing visible on the jar used for a pack (20) class a .cigarettes. And nothing this man and everyone elce who does it that way is simply wrong we timed how long it took to smoke the cigarettes via fish pump took us a little over 11 minutes 11 min 46 sec to be exact it took an average of 3 seconds to change it to the next so on and so on. so minus a minute =10min 46 sec Simple math!! We ran the vape exactly that long and the water stuck to the jar instantly and started accumulating (not much but an ample amount for the time that was pre set) I at the "bottom". (In the same direction of gravity!) So we then stuck a paper towel around the "interior" (of the same jars) lining as best as possible to keep them out of the direct path of smoke. One more perfectly fine a pack of cigarettes. Same results kid more and more water at the bottom of the vape jar and again nothing visible in the cigarette jar. Except the exit hole witch would more compare to the throat not lungs. Not saying this is good but definitely better than the example by this guy in the video. Mine prooves that smoke cannot settle fast enough to notice after one or two packs the vapor on the other hand was very slow moving and stuck to everything again adding more water to the bottom of the jar. Witch indicates that it accumulated faster that the average human lungs can take care of it. Leading to increased lung infections especially in young adults. I do my research kid.!! Now take your know it all self to sleep kid!!
Kyle Hans yeah but the smoking is still alot worse and your body gets rid of the excess moisture in the lungs very quick and lung infections are still pretty unlikely

Just got this on my recommend again. To what was said about giving time to clean up: it would actually be interesting, after cigarettes, let it run clean for 8 hours (simulating sleep for example). And 8 hours after the vape (although, no one vapes 60ml in a day, so this amount was already excessive). Cigarettes will likely look the same, compared to the vape that would have dried up most of the condensation.

The truth is that the human lung dosent condense vapour at all because of the temperature diferences. The lung's temperature is higher so it dosent condense. It will condense on nose if you exale it from the nose tho.
An interesting experiment - but people who smoke or vape will inhale AND exhale. Maybe a vaper will take 10 - 15 puffs to get the same hit as a single cigarette, but these inhalations are generally of 2 to 3 seconds duration, followed by a period of 15 to 60 minutes (depending on the vaper's habit) of normal breathing. During this break from vaping breathing normally will cause this condensation to evaporate, so this build up of liquid on the lungs will not happen - if the liquid shown in this experiment remained in the lungs of vapers then they would all develop pneumonia symptoms or drown. There was a spate of vape related deaths in the USA - but it was found the victims were vaping black market THC pods which contained oil based vitamin C acetate which did not evaporate and coated the lungs with oil causing pulmonary pnemonia. As commercial vape e-liquid contains no oils and is actually water based this build up of condensation and pooling liquid simply does not happen in normal vaping.
I also agree. Nobody holds it all in until nothing comes out. Also, single draws should be fed into the lung medium. Since nobody smokes a cigarette in a single draw or empties a vape tank in one draw. The air in between will make a difference. This combined with exhalation would yield much more accurate results.
Yeah it will be far more accurate, but an easy test you can do at home is to just take 1 hit at a time from a cig and just use the exhales alone to blow through a paper towel. Compare the difference between the vaporizer and the cigs and it is night and day. Huge brown spot from the cigs, and nothing from the vape.
Substances do cling to lungs, but the lungs have cilia (tiny hairs) that clean the lungs by producing mucus and moving the substances up towards the top to be coughed out or swallowed, it is how the lungs clean themselves. However, carcinogens and tar in cigarette smoke destroy cilia, allowing the carcinogen/tar to not properly be cleaned out of the lungs via mucus and causing serious problems.

It’s also important to keep in mind that you would only have this amount of water in your lungs if your only inhaling vapor. Most people exhale majority of the vapor so only a little amount of the vapor actually gets into the lungs.
true but not as little as you think. heres an experiment. try sucking in vapor without inhaling and then blow it out. see how much more vapor comes out, compared to when you inhale it first.
Have the container warm, so water does not condense, the reason why there was a liquid was most likely was because the condensing on the walls from The Vapor turning into water because of the cooler surface. Your lungs are not room temperature. (You would be dead)

Like if you vape in your car with the windows up, on a hot day, your windows stay clear, but if you vape with the windows up on a cold day, forget about you won't be able to see out your windows the next day.
Not to mention, I'm not sure how continuous the vaccume was on the vape, but the coil is going to burn up extremely fast if the "fire" button is held down with constant draw on the mouth piece. Thus being terribly burnt cotton and not entirely accurate results.

Thats the best part of an e-cig, you control exactly how much nicotine you inhale. Im down to 9mg which is equivalent to an ultra lite cigarette (so ive been told). I started out one pack of smokes a day sometimes more.
Nix Ryu The Sergal it's that much as long as you're not using things like sub ohm devices that can easily give you a cigs worth of nicotine in every puff if you get a dense enough vapor using high enough wattage with the right coil setup. But I'd you are using a mouth to lung type cig-alike device then yes it would roughly contain that much after roughly the same amount of puffs. I also used vapes to get off cigs but I also needed more at your level so I did a 100w regulated device with a dripper RDA and started doing 3mg instantly and getting head rushes like crazy. Then I did cloud and flavor chasing, moved onto 1.5mg and the 0 and finally just stopped. I maybe smoked 1 cig every 2 months before and 1 every like 4 now. Just a social thing cause I miss the taste (every time it tastes terrible now lol). So good luck!

Look yh, inhaling anything other than air isn’t gonna be good for u but it is safe. I used to use one until I got bored and I’m fine. It’s safe and there’s very little chance of u being actually harmed unless ur allergic in which case u won’t die you will just have a small reaction but if ur an athlete it will affect ur running times and stamina. Other than that no side effects

I smoked for many years and have vaped for the last ten. The differences are huge. I haven't had a cold, the flu, stuffy nose or any of the other respiratory problems that used to frequently plague me.
My clothes don't stink. The walls of the house don't turn a sticky yellow. Furnishings and upholstery are no longer yellowed and sticky. The house doesn't smell like stale cigarettes. My car doesn't smell.
Vaping, compared to cigarettes is very inexpensive, so I've saved a TON of money.
I no longer have to "plan" for my next cigarette. I can vape anywhere. It takes a lot of stress off.
It only took one time vaping and I never looked back. Never wanted another cigarette. I had two full cartons left and I gave them away. I can't imagine ever smoking a cigarette again.

R. McBride. I'm really glad to hear that. It gives me hope because my wife and I just bought a couple vapes last night and that is the goal. We figured out the cost and we are spending 375$ a month on friggin ciggs! We both still enjoy smoking. I know that's probably not a very "politically correct" thing to say nowadays but it's the truth. Why not find a way to do it cheaper and I think, healthier.

I recommend watching a couple of how-to videos so you get the hang of the inhale, etc. The draw is somewhat different than a regular cigarette. There will also be some questions about how to fill, what to do if it floods, how to tell if the batteries need a recharge, etc. Normal stuff, but confounding for newcomers.
Don't feel bad about not wanting to quit completely. My enjoyment and the cost factor were two of my motivators when opting for vaping. 😊 Good luck and enjoy!

I’ve been vaping 6 years now and recently had x-rays done where you could see my lungs (the x-ray was to see how bad of shape my spine is in due to scoliosis). The doctor said I have very clear and healthy lungs :) I’m not worried.
Vaping saved my sister's life.
We all smoked in our family.
At 25 she was told that her lung were only working 35%.
By 28 she was on oxygen and was in and out of ICUs.
They didn't think she would make it a year.
We all started vaping to keep smoke away from her.
It's been six years. She's off oxygen.
Her lungs work at about 80% now.
Not perfect but amazing for her.
She just seems to be doing better and better every year.
Her doctors got together and are writing a paper on her case and if this could save more life's.

Actually human lungs remove condensed vapor and water really efficiently, so that kinda vape vapor would leave your lungs very fast leaving nothing behind. If your lungs couldn't remove vapor and water you would drown while going to a hot shower or while boiling water in the kitchen. So compared to cigarettes vaping did no noticeable harm what so ever.

Yes and this test is very incorrect by the simple fact that our damn lungs are not being filtered by cotton.
I can post my video if you would like similar without the cotton and there is almost nothing visible on the jar used for a pack (20) class a .cigarettes.
And nothing this man and everyone elce who does it that way is simply wrong we timed how long it took to smoke the cigarettes via fish pump took us a little over 11 minutes 11 min 46 sec to be exact it took an average of 3 seconds to change it to the next so on and so on.
so minus a minute =10min 46 sec

We ran the vape exactly that long and the water stuck to the jar instantly and started accumulating (not much but an ample amount for the time that was pre set)
I at the "bottom". (In the same direction of gravity!) So we then stuck a paper towel around the "interior" (of the same jars) lining as best as possible to keep them out of the direct path of smoke. One more perfectly fine a pack of cigarettes.
Same results kid more and more water at the bottom of the vape jar and again nothing visible in the cigarette jar. Except the exit hole witch would more compare to the throat not lungs. Not saying this is good but definitely better than the example by this guy in the video. Mine prooves that smoke cannot settle fast enough to notice after one or two packs the vapor on the other hand was very slow moving and stuck to everything again adding more water to the bottom of the jar. Witch indicates that it accumulated faster that the average human lungs can take care of it. Leading to increased lung infections especially in young adults.

Just got this on my recommend again. To what was said about giving time to clean up: it would actually be interesting, after cigarettes, let it run clean for 8 hours (simulating sleep for example). And 8 hours after the vape (although, no one vapes 60ml in a day, so this amount was already excessive). Cigarettes will likely look the same, compared to the vape that would have dried up most of the condensation.

The truth is that the human lung dosent condense vapour at all because of the temperature diferences. The lung's temperature is higher so it dosent condense. It will condense on nose if you exale it from the nose tho.

An interesting experiment - but people who smoke or vape will inhale AND exhale. Maybe a vaper will take 10 - 15 puffs to get the same hit as a single cigarette, but these inhalations are generally of 2 to 3 seconds duration, followed by a period of 15 to 60 minutes (depending on the vaper's habit) of normal breathing. During this break from vaping breathing normally will cause this condensation to evaporate, so this build up of liquid on the lungs will not happen - if the liquid shown in this experiment remained in the lungs of vapers then they would all develop pneumonia symptoms or drown.
There was a spate of vape related deaths in the USA - but it was found the victims were vaping black market THC pods which contained oil based vitamin C acetate which did not evaporate and coated the lungs with oil causing pulmonary pnemonia. As commercial vape e-liquid contains no oils and is actually water based this build up of condensation and pooling liquid simply does not happen in normal vaping.

I also agree. Nobody holds it all in until nothing comes out. Also, single draws should be fed into the lung medium. Since nobody smokes a cigarette in a single draw or empties a vape tank in one draw. The air in between will make a difference. This combined with exhalation would yield much more accurate results.
Yeah it will be far more accurate, but an easy test you can do at home is to just take 1 hit at a time from a cig and just use the exhales alone to blow through a paper towel. Compare the difference between the vaporizer and the cigs and it is night and day. Huge brown spot from the cigs, and nothing from the vape.

Substances do cling to lungs, but the lungs have cilia (tiny hairs) that clean the lungs by producing mucus and moving the substances up towards the top to be coughed out or swallowed, it is how the lungs clean themselves. However, carcinogens and tar in cigarette smoke destroy cilia, allowing the carcinogen/tar to not properly be cleaned out of the lungs via mucus and causing serious problems.

It’s also important to keep in mind that you would only have this amount of water in your lungs if your only inhaling vapor. Most people exhale majority of the vapor so only a little amount of the vapor actually gets into the lungs.

Have the container warm, so water does not condense, the reason why there was a liquid was most likely was because the condensing on the walls from The Vapor turning into water because of the cooler surface. Your lungs are not room temperature. (You would be dead)

Like if you vape in your car with the windows up, on a hot day, your windows stay clear, but if you vape with the windows up on a cold day, forget about you won't be able to see out your windows the next day.
Not to mention, I'm not sure how continuous the vaccume was on the vape, but the coil is going to burn up extremely fast if the "fire" button is held down with constant draw on the mouth piece. Thus being terribly burnt cotton and not entirely accurate results.

Thats the best part of an e-cig, you control exactly how much nicotine you inhale. Im down to 9mg which is equivalent to an ultra lite cigarette (so ive been told). I started out one pack of smokes a day sometimes more.
Nix Ryu The Sergal it's that much as long as you're not using things like sub ohm devices that can easily give you a cigs worth of nicotine in every puff if you get a dense enough vapor using high enough wattage with the right coil setup. But I'd you are using a mouth to lung type cig-alike device then yes it would roughly contain that much after roughly the same amount of puffs.
I also used vapes to get off cigs but I also needed more at your level so I did a 100w regulated device with a dripper RDA and started doing 3mg instantly and getting head rushes like crazy. Then I did cloud and flavor chasing, moved onto 1.5mg and the 0 and finally just stopped. I maybe smoked 1 cig every 2 months before and 1 every like 4 now. Just a social thing cause I miss the taste (every time it tastes terrible now lol). So good luck!

Look yh, inhaling anything other than air isn’t gonna be good for u but it is safe. I used to use one until I got bored and I’m fine. It’s safe and there’s very little chance of u being actually harmed unless ur allergic in which case u won’t die you will just have a small reaction but if ur an athlete it will affect ur running times and stamina. Other than that no side effects
What Ninja said, its safe, not necessarily good for you. But that's the thing about vices. Vaping is much better than cigarettes though, less chemicals, no solid particles going into your lungs, no tar.
