@MattyG135 Thanks for the feedback mattyG...I really didn't know how to answer...I had gotten the mower for free from a frustrated owner and sold it for $220 after fixing a plastic piece in the pull start mechanism.
Do you really like this mower? I have found one on Craigslist for $275 and I'm wondering if I am going into this too blind. I am naive when it comes to Craigslist. Any recommendations for what I should be asking? Thanks for your input! Stacy
pickup a js40 tonight for 25 bucks, all that was wrong with it is, it has a sheered flywheel key , shaft is straight so im good there and it has the 7.0hp briggs ,the thing sounds beefy and is a beast.
This is a great mower. Being that it is John Deere, you should expect to pay hefty amounts for parts though. When looking at a mower like this, raise it up and look at the blade, you shouldn't see many big dings in the blade, if you do, it is possible that it has seen some damage. Another thing to be mindful of is compression, pull the pullstring and you should feels some resistance. Finally, check the oil, be sure that it does not look DARK black or light brown - signs of poor maintenance
Nice Mower

Is this a test video to prove you can post a video?

I found one of these in the garbage dump. It's self drive is really messed up, so i just don't use it. It's a great trash find other than that!

Unplug the spark plug wire first before attempting to look at the blade. Safety first.
