I wonder how talks like this fall on non-artist ears. For a painter, this was pure shop talk. His mention of it taking a min. to screw up the courage to allow drawing back in, and the wonderful breakdown of sitting to working ratio and the security guard analogy was an absolute home run. Also really appreciated how he explained his concept of titling his pieces - exactly right - they set the ambiance, but do not throw down a specific subject that the viewer then maps to the abstraction. Great video, really generous with pacing and vivid IMAX level views of the show. Merci!

Would have loved to hear him talk more about sitting in the studio AND the drawing / painting connection. What's his keep / toss ratio, for example, in the drawings. I love how decisive and unlabored the drawings look - where do these images come from? Gotta see this show before it leaves.

I absolutely love the work. The interplay between line and color. I definitely see the references to Picasso and Miro. Lovely work.

The white lines are fascinating and a kind of signature so to speak.
