Haven’t watched yet but im almost certain Unter and X will not get a single word in against the two biggest yappers in the overwatch scene jake and chris
i'm an hour in and i can confirm i have forgotten what unter sounds like
LMFAO THIS SUMS IT UP SO WELL
bro knew
when heroes like Mauga get to be even "viable," the problem is that their skill floors are so low, that even at pro levels, it's IMMEDIATELY possible to abuse their strengths. With rapid patch schedule, this means there isn't time spent to "solve" the meta, and just becomes "what is the easiest meta to abuse right now."
The solution is either better timed patches around tournaments (unlikely, but possible), so that teams have times to find out an actually good comp, or keeping the easier heroes in a slightly weaker state until their floors are appropriately higher. The problem is that this is even WORSE in ranked, because ranked players have even less motivation/skill to solve what's good, so a slightly strong Mauga may have a 70% pickrate in pro play, but an 80% in ranked.
And because the skill floor is so low it also contributes to the counterswap problem people have with the game. If a hero has a skill floor that is so low anyone can play them and get value while also countering what the enemy team does it creates a very unhealthy situation.
But mauga is hard asf, when his not hard meta, for me he feels like rein, he becomes stupidly easy when his overturned but when he is just viable or bad he is unbelievably hard to play.

quiz at 1:19
people keep saying that X and Unter didn’t talk, but I think their input was plenty, and valuable. X is always doing the host side of things, and stringing along the conversation in that way, so I think it was perfect.
The guest monologuing is good, especially when he’s actually insightful and easy to understand.
This was always going to be mostly Chris and Jake as they represented different views, it's all good!
predicting a yap off between chris and jake
theyve not stopped
legend says they're still going to this very day
We really bought in ninek to beat the anti Korean allegations now we bringing in jake to beat the we hate talent allegations. Moving up in the world
Yapping stops: 3:08:13
Ty, but did they skip the quiz because they were busy yapping?
1:30:20 I love how at this point unter's just like "fuck this im out" after sitting there staring for 90 minutes
JAKE IS NOT A QUIZHEAD - JAKE EXPOSED
On Jakes course page it says students also bought: "British Social Etiquette" and "Dressing to Win in the Workplace"
jake’s “egregious counter” : 6
My favorite part of the podcast is X smiling every time Jake says “quiz”
The title is crazy
26:50 Jake destroys Chris with facts. Cancelling my monthly coaching session with Chris and going with Jake instead. Hope my 3 year old enjoys ramen because that's a good chunk of the food budget
Never thought I’d hear Jake given a lesson on the Economic laws of Supply & Demand, but here we are.
He is however, totally ignoring the fact that professional level instruction in the other games he’s comparing Overwatch to aren’t priced in relation to each other. He’s just asserting that the skills conferred by a professional quality tennis instructor are roughly analogous to his own experience playing an online game.
@@jacobcurley4742 honestly true.
@@jacobcurley4742 if hes getting the amount of people he wants for the course, then hes pricing it right tbh. He intentionally has it high to keep the demand minimal since its not really his main job.
@@AetherMoose I didn’t understand that when he said it. He could charge 5 bucks an hour and still just limit his time to a few hours a week. He doesn’t *have* to justify his service or its cost. It’s just weird that when he tries to he does it poorly.
@@jacobcurley4742why would he do that? That’s just passing up free money. He’s simply putting monetary bounds on what his time is worth to him
Here we go, The Lads v The Establishment.
I enjoyed the coaching rate discussion at the beginning. Unter hard diff'd everyone with his business degree tho.
I’ve yet to hear any audio issues, I don’t think I’m watching uncoachable
the amount of sheer riches they pull in from the quiz probably solved the issue
the audio issue from this ep is that unter and the bald one forgot to speak
So unfortunate, I like it when the bald one speaks
@@VesselSplat I rather have the bald one not speak than hearing his laughing echo which now haunts my dreams.
To me, it felt like Jake articulates his perspective well enough that unter can't ethier make fun of it or clarify it for the Audience. Also, I feel like he just might not care about the desk in the same way he cares about yaki shitting the bed.
I agree with Jake, I still pog champ when soj and tracer pop off and I’ve been watching OWL religiously for years
the strongest yapper in history vs the strongest yapper of today
Jake literally sounds like he just took an entry level economics course, it's so funny and cute. Revenue maximizing price, raise the price to sell less to an optimal point. Go off king, get that Econ 101
Our ungraduated king
When Jake says you bought a 3h session you get a 3h session. He's a man of his words 😄
the crowd was definitely way more exited for hzs in Toronto if not equal
Oh Boi another episode of my favorite quiz show!
I have 4k hours on Tracer and love to watch her in pro play, but I agree, I'd also love to see some heroes that never seem to get love like Hanzo. I never play Hanzo, but man I love watching a good Hanzo play.
A successful example of Overwatch shit talking = dogman. No slurs, not mean, just entertaining
The lip c9 at the end always gets me
I love uncoachable
Any quiz heads?
i know this episode was recorded earlier but did you guys see the korean uncoachable with rush, aid, and ninek?
I love this show
a perfect quiz from me again...
2:23:18 best uncoachable moment OAT
jake saying know ur worth !!
What about Falcons for eu contenders wins?
I was having SO MUCH FUN watching the teams play Mauga because its something new!!! Why wouldn't fans want to see Pros play the new Heroes??? I agree Mauga or any comp 24/7 is boring but having him show up occasionally is very exciting
Forgot munich esports (A-sides summer series 2022, first one on ow2) and falcons esports EU (signed the new kings roster during mickey mouse era in 2021) 🤓
Hot take, i find sym rush comps are the most fun comps to watch :)
Non mirror tho
Chris please bass boost your voice ur mic is doing it so dirty
Jake-Z is a character I needed to see. "I'm tryin' to give you a League's worth of game for $34.99"
This podcast has now joined the establishment.
As a brown belt in Bjj, I can’t say that I would charge less than $50 for a private lesson. Granted that also involves me meeting you at the gym. But even a black belt with no other major achievements would charge at least $70 an hour for a private lesson. It’s also pretty standard for tattooers to charge at least $100 an hour as a baseline. I really think you’re selling yourself short to only charge $35 for an hour of private coaching.
i think the talent is too sure of the fact that everyone loves a good soj rail, dps popoff etc. They're not giving the viewers enough credit that they'll understand and enjoy more complicated team based comps if the casters and desk explain it well. Maybe thats just another symptom of casters who dont know the game (nekkra) but i truly think that if given the opportunity a lot of viewers WILL appreciate tactical gameplay so much more
Dude yes! I’m so sick of high level players or coaches or talent always thinking they know both what the average person wants or understands. They always act like we are brain dead and can’t understand what’s going on in high level play.
People are used to 90+ minutes of soccer play, with maybe one or two goals happening, while the rest is extremely tactical managing of space and trying to bait the enemy into making mistakes, and it is still one of the most popular sports in the world. I even think dps popoffs every game are detrimental, because they make it more common and thus less exciting!
mauga meta is brexit longball football
mauga meta is 4-4-2
You missed Munich Esports?
Maybe if/when team fortress 3 comes out jake will have another esports game to work on 👀
mirror matches are the problem is not true - in val ppl have essentially “solved” ascent comp wise but it still results in some of the most iconic games and plays even in a mirror
i disagree purely because of the amount of people ive seen complain about mirror matches throughout the years. now i dont have a problem if its high level ow being played but its been a long standing complaint for years
Down with the establishment lol
Uncoachable fans when the interview guest talking
sorry fell asleep after you started talking about mauga meta zzzzzz
I also disagree about shit talking, I like Overwatch, and before that Starcraft2 because of the wholesomeness. When people talk smack or act rude its just cringe.
No Yaki?
for real, wtf?
2:39:33 - what was that cut about?
Jake really seems full of himself
Anyone else feel like hes consistently talking down to the others and not really considering any points but his own?
see the Outlaws vs Justice 2021 Play-ins match for the quintessential Jake experience
As a quizhead I'm really upset by Jake's comments and would appreciate if he never appears on the show again
Bro do us a favor, stop speaking for us.
Chris: “Avg person doesn’t hate Mauga they just follow Jake and Avrl.” No bro I rarely ever agree with Jake I just hate Mauga, he is boring to, boring to play against and annoying af. I don’t need OWL people to tell me that, I feel it playing in games everyday.
Jake: “Most people can’t keep up with or follow complex play in OW they rather watch Tracer or Sojurn pop off plays” Again no, while pop off plays are cool and I do love watching high level tracer play. I also used to love high level brawl comps like Rein, Zarya or dive comps like Winston, DVA and I know most people didn’t like it but I thought even the ball DVA or Sig hog comps were fun. Strategic play is also fun to watch not just pop off heroes running the lobby.
Point is stop speaking for us, what we like varies between individual people and we don’t all fit in to the boxes you all like to place us in as avg player avg viewer.
Jake loves to tell me how I feel
You even knowing what uncoachables is means you’re probably not average tbh. So maybe YOU should stop speaking for them.
@@iQuack yeah at this point if you're watching a 3 hour comp ow podcast episode you're cooked and in it for the long haul, def not a casual or average viewer.
@@iQuack And regardless I promise you it’s not even possible for them or us to know what the avg player wants considering how varried those opinions would be in the first place and Jake constantly puts them a specific “this is what they want” bubble. I would have a much better idea about what avg players want compared to Jake considering I play in their ranks and I play QP from time to time and talk to others in game and even I would be wrong to assume what the avg player is wants or thinks and that’s the point. Yet this people involved in the highest levels of the game think they know what the avg person wants or thinks.
@@iQuackAlso I didn’t speak for anyone but myself. If you read my response it was my opinion to show Jake is very wrong about what I want and also wrong about what everyone wants, he can’t possibly know what everyone wants and neither could I.
Chrisfer the guy society deems udly and undesirable so hes furious at the establishment /s
after 18 episodes i am now convinced the woke mob killed OWL
Jake calling himself a genius then just going into his personal preferences for heroes and metas is hilarious. Most overwatch esports enjoyers are sick and tired if fucking tracer. Maybe this is why the broadcast does shit numbers.
Orissa is 100× more boring than Mauga, but please go on how hes boring with the machine guns when Sojourn is way more boring. Mate i havent seen a halfway competitive game without her
UH OH!!! Incoming Yap Sesh!!!!!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
I feel like Jake would enjoy valorant more
1:00:21 you wait 4 secs because bubble takes like 10 secs how is this a point to make? The game has always been about baiting cds and push/pull

Jake’s point about pricing is exactly why it makes no sense to complain that overwatch cosmetics are too expensive. If they’re not worth the money for you, don’t buy them. Blizzard isn’t going to lower the prices just because your broke ass can’t afford them. They’re clearly happy with the money they’re making (because the prices haven’t changed), so why would they lower prices?
this is going to devolve into madness its got to
