    But what really is the difference between warming up your muscle with a compress vs warming it up with ultrasound? Does ultrasound work any better than just regular heat? Sounds like a fancy way to make them seem like they're doing something special and charge you for it.

    My teacher gave me graphs that we can check the intensity base on how much heat we need and what period of that hurts is (acute, subacute, chronic). From your example, the patient has tigtness muscle, as i known it is trigger points, i need heat up to 2-3°C, then i look up my graph, the intensity is between 0,75-1 W/cm2 for 5 mins treatment. Its kinda different from your lecture and i'm pretty confused. Please give me some advises. Thank you.

    Thank you for this video, i have a question tho, can the ultrasound head get warm? Since its transmitting deep heat? Could the patient feel it?

    • @newellzelarayan9117
      @newellzelarayan9117 Před 2 lety +2

      This reply is obviously late but I decided to answer because of how important it is. Yes, the US head can and does get warm if you are using thermal settings. That is why its important to move the sound head around. The patient does feel the warmth when the settings are high. If the sound head isn't moved around you can literally burn the patient. It does not happen often but there are lawsuit regarding burns and modalities such as US and ESTIM. So be very careful! I am obviously not the user who made this video but I am a OTR/L and use these modalities everyday.

    • @sce371
      @sce371 Před 2 lety

      1. When we design the machine, we add a warming function, to avoid the patient startup cold touch.(optional)...
      2. Have good contact with the body, the gill will disipate the excissive heat.
      But, the machine will check the contact area and also measures the actual temperature of the US head, then it reduces the intensity (and even stops the therapy procedure) according.

      It's very different. This is sending thermal energy through sound vibration.
