Installing an Autoloc power window kit in my 1965 chevy impala.
Also I quick update of what I've done over the past few weeks on the impala project.
The install was pretty simple, only worry I had is if the motors would be strong enough to lift the windows on the old tracks and the motors had no problem doing that. now just hope they last !
If your interested in this kit check out ebay that where I got mine for around 160 bucks shipped to my door.
Hope this video helped anyone thinking about installing this kit in there car or truck thanks for watching and don't forget to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE AND HIT THAT NOTIFICATION BELL FOR MORE COOL VIDEOS.
THANKS FOR WATCHING !!!
This was a great in detail video thanks so much! I'm so new to working on cars now I have to watch a video on how to wire it to the ignition because I have no clue lol
Just bought these for my 68 Cutlass restore project. Can't wait to get them in!
Love mine ended up doing the rear windows too!
Send this to a friend working on a 65 Impala two door picked up couple months ago thanks great video
Really helped, I was about to box back up and return! Thank you.
Glad I could help
Pretty old chevy...cant wait to see it done..i used to have el camino
Almost there
Thanks man I’ve watched a bunch of these videos just getting an idea of how to do it but I was racking my brain trying to understand how the door trim went back on because no one showed it. So thank you kind sir for being thorough!
Glad the video helped !
Disregard THE HATING😠!....This video was AWSOME!...It helped me 100%...keep up the good work. I'm building a 69 Mopar and I'm the process of doing the same thing😎👍🏾💪🏾
Thanks bro appreciate it, just uploaded a reveal video of the 65 impala

Check it out !
Thanks for the video this help me so much
Glad it helped !
Cool
that’s awesome, thanks man…
no problem!
I’m trying to use the window crank as the switch instead of the switches provided
Awesome video! Saved me from ripping my hair out with the shit instructions that came with my similar kit. Keep up the good work and screw the 13 thumbs down idiots.
Thanks !!! And I'm glad it helped !
Great video. 🤙🤙
Thanks
Thank you
Hey Chuck! How’s that kit holding up?? Looking to go either this route or the Nu Relic
@@luisgardea2629 still works well... but keep in mind this isn't a daily driver. so not a ton of wear and tear on it
i seen that kit but i got the jdm one? it was $60
Do you think you can uprgrsde the window motor to a stock gm one ?
not sure about that one
Looking for a 1956 olds key assembly
Do these kits last? Or do we have to replace them every some months?
been good for years now but I don't drive my car alot it's a occasional driver when a car show is going on or cruise
@@AllThingsCool well I'm thinking about installing them on my everyday car for the 2 back windows that are manual. One car electrician told me that these kits don't last. That's why I am asking. Thanks for your answer though
The power cable do you connect it to the battery? Or to a fuse or ignition cable
You should've show that
Always to a fuse box. I ended up modifying the original wiring to run different types of switches so I ran relays for each switch then ran those to a fuse box
@@AllThingsCool I also didn't understand the wiring on the ignition box.. the rest is awesome.. good video..
If someone have a link I would appreciate
The brackets seem to be made to mount on the motors on one particular side - looking at the screw points on both parts. You mention the back of the motor at 11min 40sec of the video and talk about why you're mounting it from the 'front' and only using the one screw. It is possible that you mounted the motors on the wrong side of the vehicle - and that if they'd been on the opposite sides then the 'back' would have been the front and you'd have used both screw holes with the bracket hardware. Is there any reason that they have to be installed on one side as opposed to the other?
No I would still need the motors to drop into the door channel to make room for the flat door panel
How do these know when to stop going up/down without breaking the window or causing other damage? Thanks!
you let go of button it's all manual not automatic
good vid very informative.... what did you do to the dash of that poor impala?
Thanks !!! But if your wondering bout the dash heres a video of finished interior czcams.com/video/aKmTfJNPuIY/video.html
Do you think rigging up a spring to each side of the glass would take a lot of weight off the window and make them run even smoother?
Worth a try
So on the driver side there’s 2 switches and one of them controls the driver side and the other controlled the passenger side window?
Yes sir
Do they have a Kit for a Caprice
In the kit, is there a specified Driver side motor and Passenger side motor?
no.. not that I seen. you custom mount them for your application
@@AllThingsCool Ok. Also I tried just hooking this up to a battery to test to see if it works, and it does not. I don't know how to get it to work, about ready to give up
@@GlassSandwichTV that's weird so you tried both and neither worked ?
@@AllThingsCool Yes, I tested it with the passenger button connected only, and 1 motor, connected the red and black wires to the battery and no green switch light or working switch
How has the durability been? Are you still happy with them? Thanks
It's not a daily driver so the windows motors arent getting alot of work but the little bit I have used them they work fine
Do you have a video of how you did the rear windows? I have a 69 impala and been thinking about doing this.
Sorry man. I do not have a video on the rear install but it was as easy if not easier then the front
Is it the same kit for quarter windows, as the front? I am worried that it would be too long, the motor unit.
@@henrylouie262 same kit fits perfect !
are you going to do Power Locks? I want to add them to work with the alarm but they want A absurd amount to add power locks I already got the actuators...not the door popper type just the locks like new cars...Its getting closer & closer only problem is the more you sit inside the car while your working on it the more ideas you come up with HA HA
Doors are shaved so just door poppers for me. Yea the interior is gonna be fun need to start brain storming about center console design, door panels back deck. lot of sitting already getting seats mounted lol
What power source did you use? I’m stuck on that part
these are ran to an aftermarket fuse box under dash
@@AllThingsCool which fuse? And it came with an inline fuse 30amp too but I’m stuck trying to find a power source
@@Sip28 for the final install I didn't use the switches or the in line fuse I used an after market billet window switch and on my after market fuse box it had a spot for accessories so I used that spot for the windows
Can this fit in a 1970 chevelle?
I would thing so
Do you have to install relays on this kit?
I did but I ran different switches also
Do you work on this or you do for fans
I work on my own stuff
Its $45 on ebay
I am so tempted to get this kit for my ranger but the biggest thing that worries me is the plastic gears, and the motors. I keep reading reviews that the motors end up not working after a while because or that the plastic gears that attach to the window crank nub eventually strip out... how have they been now that you've had them for 7 months?
I felt the same way when I first installed the kit ( worried about the astic gears ) ended up getting a set for the rear windows to haven't had any issues yet. But my cars not a daily driver just weekends so that might help on wear and tear of the kit
This might be dumb question but does the motor know when to stop or if you keep hold of the button will grind the gears ? Thanks
TripleSixOne your oem window has a guide and a stop so when you’ve bottomed out it won’t keep turning, so no it won’t mess up the gears
Did you also do your rear vent windows?
Yes with same kit
So you didn’t use the 4 door kit you used two 2 door kits? If so how did the wiring go. Thanks for the video and your help. If you CZcams 1969 Impala restmod that’s my ride and I want to add power windows. Thanks again
you got ripped off! its $70 on amazon for the same kit
wow both got ripped off, i got it for $40 on ebay and its the same one lol
Lmao I though this was funny
How long has it lasted
No problems yet installed some for the back windows too
Will be doing a video on impala soon
@@AllThingsCool Are these still holding up?
@@miguelbueno7435 yup no problems yet. This is a summer car so I do only drive it 4-5 months a year though so not alot of wear and tear just fyi
A little slow...
It is a pretty big window and the tracks are old
Cool
