It's hard to describe how important the Wolfenstein franchise is to gaming. It is the godfather of all shooters, but has fallen into the shadows for the past decade. The New Order takes place in an alternate timeline where the Nazi's not only won World War 2, but now dominate the world. The game has an old school feel, as it uses over-the-top guns, an almost unlimited amount of guns you can carry, and health packs. Ten years ago these features started to feel dated, now they feel refreshing since most shooters have a 2 gun carry limit, and regenerating health. This is a single-player only game, and the story doesn't disappoint. While the campaigns starts off a little slow narrative wise, things really kick off after the title sequence. Wolfenstein does a great job creating believable characters in an almost unbelievable world.
The best thing about Wolfenstein is self aware which allows it to be simultaneously campy and serious. It can be ridiculous at times, but it's can be forgiven because you know that's what Machine Games was aiming for. We hope you enjoy this game, and highly recommend it for anyone who likes FPS shooter campaigns. There's a lot of unlockables and extras that give the game a high replay value. It's really disappointing that the german version is censored in so many ways. it's not the nazis, it's the regime. they even cut out words like aryan or obersturmbannführer. it's half the fun, dammit! and some of these nazis have nice accents and dialects like austrian and bavarian. I miss that in the german version -.-

1:55:45 I think this is one moment that is overlooked throughout all of the Wolfenstein series. It represents one of BJ's strongest character points: His empathy. Yes, he has killed well over a thousand Nazi soldiers at this point, fired off thousands of bullets and hundreds of explosives. But he has never been in a situation where any of those rounds were in risk of hitting a civilian. His actions never endangered noncombatants, always aiming for those armed and trained to kill him. And now, while Fergus just writes off what just happened as a part of the plan, BJ sees the tragedy that was caused by his hands and is completely horrified at what he did. It's a small detail in the grand scheme of things, but it perfectly shows you that he isn't a complete death dealing machine, but a man that unwittingly committed a tragedy against a people that suffer under a terrible regime and wholly regrets it.

The dialogue in this game is very reminiscent of Tarantino's dialogue, with the loquaciousness of the characters and the language-switching for example.

If I had to choose one thing I love - and there's a lot to choose from in this game - it would be how Blazkowicz's dialogue is so quiet; like a whisper.
The strongest people don't have to raise their voice. For someone as big and strong as he is, he's still a gentle giant to his friends and family. MachineGames nailed the writing for BJ, amplified even more by Brian Bloom's incredible performance. This is easily my favourite character he's ever played.
It's an aspect lost in The New Colossus, where every other second Blazkowicz and Co are constantly shouting at each other. He loses that silent-hero demeanor.

Just finished playing Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and I have to say this is probably the best damn story line for a FPS ever! Especially after you finish both these games in the series. Hope they come out with a new one. It cannot stop!

The dialogue and expertly crafted scenes these games have to offer are better than ANY blockbuster movie that has come out in the last twenty years, save for a few obvious gems. Movies need to be more like this... Over the fucking top, action packed and with smart, witty dialogue.
