- Skiing the beautiful backside of Mammoth Mountain top to bottom after a few inches of fresh snow this December 2022. There was an unfortunate pizza in the beginning, but after that it was all fun in the sun.
Shot on GoPro Max in the 360 mode using these settings:
5.6K-30
ISO Max: 400
WB: Auto
Sharpness: Low
Color: Flat
EV: -0.5
Audio is from the GoPro, no modifications.

Growing up on Abe's videos like 'party in the park' and now seeing this is like the best hit of nostalgia a guy could ask for. Glad you're still making videos.
yeehaw, thanks man! appreciate the eyeballs
@@abekislevitz Over the years I went from watching winter sports POV's videos like yours, to motorcycle racing POV videos, and I thoroughly believe you and a guy named Niccolo Canepa have some of the best action sport POV's on the internet. Great stuff man.
@@VXIOW_TTV agreed.
we all need a tutorial about color/denoise and post processing and for motion blur with gopro max! 🙏
Yes yes. For now - I'm using Resolve for my color and denoise. I use RSMB, a plug-in within Premiere for the blur.
@@abekislevitz motion blur in post is the best trick ever! but RSMB is expansive! I personally use pixel motion blur in after effects. I’m waiting for color and denoise davinci tut! Thanks Abe and merry Christmas 🎄
@@abekislevitz you have a pro version of RSMB or the regular one?
@@cervellimatteo regular. Resolve also now has a motion blur slider similar to RSMB in the full version which could be a good alternative
Insane clarity …. Very cinematic feel 👍🏽
Thank you 🙌
It's always a pleasure to watch what you're able to do with the GoPro cameras. Just insane. Keep them coming!
The views from that side of mammoth are awesome.
The quality you get out of this camera is absolutely insane Abe!
damn it man your color grading and crispness of video is just so perfect!!!
Yewww! Abe always making the mountains look magical.
Yesssss. We're back on board. Sick and crispy vid.
Such a pleasure to have a notification pop up saying you posted a video.
Always a pleasure to watch your art and as fans our eyeballs are always in for a treat.
I think after reading the comments from this video and your past videos, a davinci color correct/grade tutorial is very much needed.
I think you know so many of us look up to you and want to learn from the best.
KEEP THEM VIDEOS COMING!
Legend!
Everybody talking about video quality and stuff.. But this is the best I´ve seen you skiing. It´s the first time I could honestly say "yeah, no chance following you there" hahaha. Insane riding!
A great video with lots of detail and intense moments- thanks for posting. All the best and God Bless. 🙏❤🇺🇸
Nice work! Both skiing & video.
Hello - thank you for your videos. Look again and again with pleasure with you past. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, your family and friends. Best regards André
this is beautiful
Perfect..it's beautiful
Beautiful shearing
oh yeah!, that's the stuff...
This is awesome! Felt like I was in a videogame!
this is amazing
That was insane
That indeed was sick🤙🏽
🙏
Making it look easy!!
Loved it 😍
Cheers Gochi !
WOOOOO NEW VIDEO!
i just fell in love with this pov. could you find someone who can snowboard through trees like that in that pov
Wow, cool!
Man, if hyperinflation wasn’t so strong, I would definitely go skiing again. I’m only a novice, but I would like to be able to weave through frosty forests like this.
This is SO good!
Thank you!
pretty insane quality
I love it
Superb line! Jealous.
dope...dig it...
Man I miss skiing at Mission Ridge ski resort in Wenatchee Washington.
I swear this level of light is how I used to see the world.
epic!
GoPro Max stays undefeated 😤 YEEWWWW 🤙🏻
She holds up well for being 4 years old now...
@@abekislevitz yessir she's still my go-to action camera after all these years
@@ActionXander glad to hear it!
The post production on this is so nice. Any chance you could share those RSMB settings?
Everything stock, but .22 on the weight
smooth as pudding
Hi Abe, a quick question. If you want to grap a pic from Max footage (for an Ig post f.e.), is it better to take it directly from gopro player (raw footage) or after exporting/converting from it?
Have you ever mounted a max to the front of your ski instead of a unicorn mount?
Yo Abe! Can you do a run through of your set up to film this. Looks, from the shadow like a max mounted down off your lid in front of your face. Whats your audio edit/set up to get rid of wind noise, something I really struggle with on the Max. Also, how do you reframe? Desktop or mobile app? I prefer the overcaprure for smoothness but cannot upscale to 4K, and struggle a bit with the desktop. What would really help is a “head cam” mode in addition to the world lock and horizon level… so that it acts a bit more like a typical POV and makes it super easy to just set up a framing and do a simple reframe. Thanks bro. Sick content as always!
Yes! I've been playing with dropping it down. I have my usual "gnarwhal" but it's fine to drop it down and be more of a chesty/mouthcam view. I find it makes for a bit more immersive POV. Audio is straight off the camera, I find max does pretty well for me! I reframe with FX Reframe in Premiere, so render out the 360 Equi using GoPro player, and move to premiere to get the final output, which gives you much more user control than all in player. And yes there is a "headcam" mode! Simply turn off both world lock and horizon lock and the view will follow the camera exactly like a normal GoPro. So in Player, I turn those both off before hitting render to 360 equirectangular. Makes it so much easier to not have to keyframe anything. Hope that helps Peter !
@@abekislevitz yeah man!! Massively! Issue I had with turning off both horizon lock and world lock was a little bit of wierdness with the horizon when pretty “zoomed out” but I will have another go. Have struggled quite a bit with the audio though so maybe need to have a look at the settings. Super impressed with how your audio was, especially straight from the camera! Thanks again Abe!
wow, epic
Thanks Adam!
Absolutely epic Abe! Just a question regarding motion blur, what settings did you put on the RSMB-plugin?
.22 !
Top
Love your willingness to share vid techniques! Maybe share a bit wider berth when going around those people on the trail.
Appreciate the concern - must probably look closer than it was. I think I was trying to hug that left side to see where I needed to drop, but yes always good to remember!
with the gopro max but its impossible to shoot 5.6k with horizon leveling ON, which in your video seems to be ON. how is that possible?
What setup are you using for your footage?
Chair 14 pow runs thorugh the glades never dissapoint
Unless there's wind-lips ! I went through here a week later to try to recreate this line and it was a totally different scene...haha it was rough.
Hi Abe, which trail is this?
Nice Video.
Hey Abe is gopro working on a new 360 camera ?
Just looking for a Yes or No. Before I buy the MAX.
Unfortunately I can’t talk about future products, but you should pickup a max ! It’s great 👍🏻
When you think you're good at skiing and then watch Abe go mach 10 between the trees...
Hah, I think the same about videos I see in my feed... Always progressing!
How do you make the footage look like this?
I would have died at 0:01
That's a cool mounting system youve got going on. Would be nice to mimic that for better POV
Hah yeah it's a little goofy, especially when the shadow comes in, but it's nice. Like a mouthcam view, but more stable and off of the body a little bit so the jacket and arms aren't so much in the way.
Which mount are you using??
Can you pls give me the settings for your GoPro hero 11 black for skiing and I know you didn’t use it in this video but can you still give them to me pls.
Check my website abekislevitz.com ! I have a full HERO11 settings blog post
what armadas are those they are so sick.
How are you shooting in 4K on the go pro max if it only goes to 1080 in 360?
I’m editing in a 4K timeline using fx reframe for a 4K projection
I was like holy shit watch out for that tree! And that tree! 😂 i turned into my mom for a second💀
How do you add that motion blur? Whenever I check the "motion blur" box in FX Reframe, it makes no difference. I've even tried multiple different shutter angles.
Motion blur in FX Reframe is only for camera moves like panning around with keyframes. The motion blur in this is produced with RSMB, a plugin for Premiere.
@@abekislevitz gotcha, thank you
@@abekislevitzCan you please share your settings for RSMB? Blur amt and Sensivity. Would really appreciate it.
ND filter?
👍🏻🙋🏻👌🏻
Am I the only one thinking about Sonny Bono while watching that video?
One famous guy dies skiing in the trees, all comments on videos skiing in trees are about that. How many people die in car accidents everyday but we don’t comment about getting in a car 😏
How can I exposure lock in the Hero 11 mini?
You’d have to set a manual shutter or use GoPro labs feature that locks exposure after a certain amount of time
@@abekislevitz I'm new to GoPro and didn't know about labs, I'll definitely check it out, thanks. It would be so cool if we could exposure lock using the Quik app preview 🤯
My sister's dream: taylor swift concert
My dream:
Lucas told me about your channel
It’s been awhile sir
yes, sadly. Trying to change that!
Hey where were you for so many months
I put too much pressure on my CZcams channel and want things to be perfect. I just need to pump out content. Also need to find someone to help me edit!
@@abekislevitzIndeed you set the bar so high that everything you post has to be perfect! Still it was pretty awesome to see a full 20 min video of you with Lucas Catania just having a chill day skiing! Would definately like to see more raw skiing vids from you or some more collabs with Lucas!
Its all fun and games until you Sunny Bono.
2.74km in 1 minute 36. Whilst many people it isnt doable with no wheels?🤨😂🎉
SALÚDAME ABE.
That's FPV . POV doesn't define wich one
in my industry, we call it POV. Gonna stick with it, but I understand your point.
@@abekislevitz yes I know that. Weird thing...People use to call dog to a dog, now you can call horse to a dog....Hahaha
