Peter dinklage isnt hot 'for a dwarf' he's just hot.
Y Bentley What I find alluring about him is that he just seems self-made, and confident in himself while sparing true cockiness...he's one of those actors who has had to do the "born to do" roles, like being a dwarf in Elf...but the guy has the air of a true artist. He wears that on his sleeve, and I think Jon just sees too many Hollywood pinup fakes and overzealous activists on his show that Earthiness seems foreign to him...That and Dinklage doesn't seem as responsive and willing to draw attention to himself as a typical Jon guest. Dinklage doesn't seem overly willing to entertain here
Davey R I remember a quote he made about his integrity, that he turned down a lot of "leprechaun" roles.
Davey R he did seem very tired during this interview...of course it might have also been his tenth one of the day after a long flight also and cognitive abilities are seldom at their peak in those situations
Y Bentley Thats Hollywood for ya, they can turn everybody hot..
Y Bentley I'm sure he would enjoy that "He's hot" & "NOT BECAUSE HE'S A DWARF" comment of yours.
The man is a dwarf and yes, he's a fine looking man as well. I don't think I would love that if people acted like they were blind to my dwarfism. That's like telling a guy in a wheelchair: "Hey! Looking good, buddy!" and throwing a fist bump at him while acting all casual, never mentioning the fact that he has no legs.
Acting like there's nothing wrong is even worse, I think.
If I was talking to a cancer patient doing chemo, I'd go: "Nice haircut, mate!". It's funny for one, but he also get that you aknowledge his issue. Going: "Woww, you're looking good, bro!" is just insulting.
Peter Dinklage is easily one of the most inspiring and motivational people that have ever existed.
+DemiJessful My cousin Frank is pretty inspiring too
Bombur The Mighty Dwarf i beieve you, i dont know him myself so i cant say :)
DemiJessful Sure you can! Everyone loves Frank! Frank for President! :D
+Bombur The Mighty Dwarf really niqqa?
Manager ....y- no-.. yes..?
Peter Dinklage no.1 in game of thrones,
awesome actor.
Yes!
Imagine who will kill him
i don't think he will die in the series,
hope not anyway.
R_A_A 98 i don't think he will die in the series.hope not anyway.
Absolutely!
The Mountain ordered 7 chickens? Well that's one thing he has in common with his brother.
+Kourgan76 LOL, google Halfthor Julius Bjornsson. Quite possibly one of the most amazing athletes of his time.
***** I bet he ate every fucking chicken in that room!
+Beauty Effulgent Nice one!
takana t
+Beauty Effulgent Thank you, you just made my day.
Peter is so low key, laid back and oozes that quiet intelligence...love this guy.
The Mountain only ate 7 chickens
but the Hound will eat every fucking chicken in the room
+Spencer West A man speaketh the truth
Is it just me, or does Peter Dinklage look like Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones?
lol
+Ali I don't see it...
He looks more like a Taregareon. Hint hint
+thomasring67 SHUT THE FUCK UP
thomasring67 *cough* *cough* Mad King's son *cough* *cough*
Grew up (in my preschool years) with Peter. My brother was friends and remember him coming to our house, I think one time to do an air band version of a Chicago song.
The coolest thing that I remember, though, is that I took piano lessons from him mom and she was the nicest, most grounded person. He faced a lot of crap as a dwarf by other kids, and I think this was hard on not only him, but his mom as well.
I'm so glad to see him make it as far as he did. Wherever you are, Mrs. Dinklage, you should be super proud of your son. He turned out just fine.
GreenDaddy I love this story
I work at a liquor store in New Jersey and she comes in some what frequently. She seems to be doing well and she is a very very great person. I just spoke with her the other day and she has no idea just like the rest of us the ending of game of thrones, Peter won’t tell her she said. All round great person and very humble of her son.
Not just fine. He is far more successful and content with his life.
@@MegaCd5 That is awesome. I am about 2 degrees of separation from him (through my brother and through another friend who is close to Peter's brother), but I haven't pushed too far with either connection to make contact. I told my friend (who apparently visits the mom and sees Peter as well) that people from his hometown are very happy about his successes.
One of the most amazing things about Peter Dinklage is how well he puts on the English accent in GOT. It wasn't until the first interview I saw of him that I realized he was an American. The guy is a great actor, period.
Peter Dinklage always strikes me as not giving a shit about anything. Or, at least, whenever I see him in interviews like this. This was a fun interview (awkward at moments), but he has interesting body language.
transformersloverjon I agree...some fatigue maybe? These GoT actors have got to be perenially exhausted from working, doing interviews and public appearances and the like....a whirlwind job I'm sure...and over YEARS! This is like a full time job, especially for himself in a lead role
Davey R The guy's top billing!
***** he is a bit like Christoph Waltz
transformersloverjon yeah i was thinking the same thing.... kind of a poor interview by jon stewart tho-- annoying fake laughter and pretty bad questions. I think Peter was more interested in having a real conversation.... or maybe I'm just reading too much into things :)
I agree.Sometimes when John gets nervous ,maybe in this case it was about the size of the star and not wanting to say the wrong thing so ,he ends up talking too much and did not let the star get a word in edge wise .
His voice, his jawline, his deep voice, his sense of humor is just so so soooo perfect👍👍👍👍
how awesome would it be to see the GOT cast doing a GOT parody.
That would be lovely.
they kind of did one for red nose day with coldplay. it's actually pretty good
Check out seasons five and six if you want to see a parody of George's books
Actually there is... Melissandre and John snow made a scketch and a parody.. but I'm too drunk right now to give you a link... Google it.. chjeeeeers
Steve Haigh
I'm not even a GoT fan, but Peter Dinklage is one cool cat.
Check him out in Living in Oblivion (1995) with Steve Buscemi & Catherine Keener. He appears in act 3. Great 90's indie flick.
Neat, I pretty much learned everything I know from 90s indie flicks and I never saw anything with Buscemi that I didn't like. Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to check it out!
Just close your eyes and listen to his rich deep voice...........
His deep voice is the same with open eyes
+Juanfer Ka hahahaha
+Juanfer Ka haha true
+Juanfer Ka it's for the improvement of concentration
SheenShow He has a gorgeous voice he suits his own accent better
For us Brits, it is very rare that an American actor can do a British accent. It's easy for us to do American accents as we all grew up with your TV shows which is why there are so many Brits in Hollywood, even though a lot of them a pretty average actors. Peter Dinklage, the odd wobble aside, nails a British accent. Only Meryl Streep and Robert Downey Junior have really done it before.
Don't worry the british have worse or just as bad reality TV. Notorious for it if anything. Just look up their Jersey Shore knock off Geordie Shore haha. No need to apologize for our shit TV, we've all got it.
Brits aren't that short on good media, doctor who, Fawlty towers, Monty Python...
PhoenixRising cartoon networks was the shit in England😂😂😅
Americans are better directors and TV/movie writers.
We should really be apologizing for "Honey Boo Boo"
Best actor and character in the serie! im soooo in love!!
I cringed hard when Stewart referred to the "Mini-Martins".
It was obviously an accident - but you know inwardly he had a "what the fuck did I just say..." moment.
Paul Turbo Fortunately, Peter was pretty graceful about it. After all we all can have a slip of the tongue and say something inappropriate.
Paul Turbo meh something and nothing.
Paul Turbo If anybody is going to be squeemish about a comment like that, it won't be Stewart or Dinklage.
This shows how messed up some people are. I hold Peter to be a wise man. He has been short his whole life. Do you think everytime someone says anything that refers to anything being small he will take offence? Mini martins is a phrase for fictional workers. He sees that as just a joke and most probably doesnt relate it to himself. That you think he would, and try and protect him from harm is actually what is wrong here.
I always expect Peter Dinklage to be an absolute douche because the first thing I saw him in was Elf.
TheDiscoNarwhal He does kinda seem to have an edge to him, but i'm sure that he's a good guy.
He might just be getting a little tired of the whole Game of Thrones thing, kinda of like how Harrison Ford is sick of Star Wars now. But its still a paycheck
Jake Servo Even Alec Guiness hated playing Obi Wan and being recognized for it, and Richard Harris as well for Dumbledore. They had such distinguished careers yet the laypeople only knew them for the pop culture phenomena that they were.
DogsWhoHuntLions Alec Guiness never liked Star Wars and thought it was a stupid movie, but Richard Harris enjoyed playing Dumbledore. He didn't want the role at first because it was a long commitment to do the 7 movies originally planned, and he hated being tied to anything for too long. It was only after his granddaughter threatened never to speak to him again if he passed on the role, did he agree to play Dumbledore. But once he was in it, he enjoyed it and was happy to be in the second film, even though he was ill. It was the publicity and exultation he hated. He thought it was wrong that actors are treated like they're so important. And if you are older than 25, you know Richard Harris from his many movies before the Harry Potter series.
TheDiscoNarwhal it's cause he's a south pole elf
TheDiscoNarwhal Dwarf Douches don't get the part! :)
that jawline tho
Laura Govaerts yeah
Chiselled from the old and new Gods.
@@CeluiEtSeul lmaoo
Internal Jon thoughts: 'don't say anything about his size, don't say anything about his size...' "...I bet he has a bunch of little writers..." "Does that guy just like pick people up...." 'DAMN IT'
You can see it when it dawns on him what he just said haha. Hilarious.
David Welch I don't think it's a bit hilarious. He started right in with the stupid cracks by saying, "I always expect you to be about to hit a guy with a bottle, like you're always about to do something." ("Uh...what, like Benny Hill?") And he just kept digging in deeper. Jon Stewart is in free-fall. There's something wrong with him lately. In this interview, the guest had to keep propping him up, as if Jon were the nervous guest. It stunk.
Carly Corday well Jon is a big fan of the show so it could have been super nerves.
Carly Corday I think you're overthinking it..Jon is nice and respectful of all guests, he just may have found it hard to find a rhythm, because Pete isn't that animated in this interview, he seems a bit tired actually....people seem to think Pete is going to be offended massively by comments about height...I think the guy has had enough years on this planet to wear it like armor, literally like what he says in season 1...Dinklage is a genius at this role because of how autobiographical it probably is.
Need triviality overthinker-blocking pills. Truly. I love "Pete" though! Agree with everything you say about him, and much of the rest as well. Those "offenses" of Stewart's didn't even register with me until several hours after I had watched it. I still keep thinking of it...thinking he was so weird, it was like he was saying it all on a stupid backstage dare, and that Peter Dinklage was the darer, it was just so...unbelievably thorough. (Agggh! My pills. LOL.)
He seems like such an intelligent guy, really smart and quietly noble.
Jon immediately realized he may have offended Peter with the "team of mini Martins pounding away".. funny to watch
sometimes i forget hes american and i get so weirded out when i hear his accent
Yah, I'm Italian, Spanish, and Mayan. Yet at the end of the day, AMERICAN. His descendants might be German/Irish, but he, like me, is a Yankee.
***** hes still american tho lol
Half german half irish? I bet you that 50% of the american population is either half german, half irish or both.
exactly... most of the white people in the US are from german descent and the 2nd biggest group of white people are from irish descent.
buddyjesus im pretty sure most white people in america are of british decent
Awesome actor. Wish you the best, Peter.
Peter is one of the best characters in cinema. I put him up there with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and Johnny Depp. This guy carried the whole show. Everyone waited patiently for his scenes. A true hero, and a spark for all those who think they are too small, or too different to do anything worth while.
+Clay Smith "In cinema"? Wow... Put him wherever you want (I guess it'd be easy)! If Clint Eastwood is one of your fav actors, than we all can guess how vast is your knowledge about cinematography. Clint E. is an awesome director, but actor? Come on...
+Clay Smith And btw, dwarfs are short, not "small".
Wow, Nikola, do you live alone? Get a girlfriend, you might feel better about yourself
he-he... ;-)
Clay Smith I agree
Peter's character in The Game of Thrones might just be my favorite character in any series ever. I just love when something/someone proves to be more powerful than it/he/she seems to be on the surface and I value intelligence very high. Tyrion is combination of that, being unexpectedly powerful and it stems from his wit. And Peter's acting and charisma is amazing. Great voice and intonation and everything. Just awesome.
Gorgeous deep voice -and a real presence and charisma.
I'm not gonna lie, I lost it when he said caterpillar! XD
he's so hot and intelligent and witty and funny and endearing and perfect UGH
plus Rich
yeah, i always get this sense of intelligence vibe from him
Well, some people do have to compensate certain shortcomings. Im not sure if hes just talented or if his hard work ethics are the source of his skills but either way hes a fuckin great actor.
BFFs Engineer a
ITS NOT FAIRRRRRR
Peter Dinklage have a HUGE talent as an actor, this guy deserve every bit of the good things that come in his life, bless his heart and his family!!!
"Do you have some mini me's in the back?" Love the look on Jon's face after that faux pas.
Peter Dinklage has great hair. There should be a Tumblr or something dedicated to his hair. (There probably is.)
I hope he doesn't die too!
If he dies, I'm done with the show. He is the only character I care about.
he won't
He kinda slip spoil it. He said theyre working on the 6th season and they're half way down.
Done.. Not down
sbelair22 In book 42, Tyrion and Arya use a T.A.R.D.I.S. to travel forward to the 24th century.
*"That's what I do. I drink and I know things."*-Tyrion Lannister
is it weird that i laughed so hard when he said "caterpillar" ?
This is man is just too awesome for words! I fucking love him
Is it rude to say he is the hottest dwarf ever? Is that not the PC term?
Boobalopbop "little person" girl.
I believe the correct term is "the hottest imp"
Tommy D nothing is offensive they're just words, you decide how u feel about them
Boobalopbop Well he does suffer from dwarfism, so I don't see why it should be offensive.
Boobalopbop Well, you know, you probably haven't seen that many dwarves. There aren't exactly a lot of Hot Dwarf Pageants and Dwarf Idol talent searches...maybe there are some real sexy dwarf motherfuckers out there.
That wizard came from the moon.
5 years later
It is known
I actually preferred dinklebot.
he is a great actor
Peter has such an amazing voice.
Peter is a brilliant actor--one of the best--he makes the show.
This guy can act. Hands down the best actor on GOT.
"He's writing his books..."*Sips tea
I swear everyone who interviewed Mr. Dinklage makes a mini me/little people joke, after a couple of seconds you can see on their face that they realise what they just said. I don't get why you would treat him different?
+Joey Deguelle Haha yeah, "Do you think he has a team of little slaves? (WHA?... OH GOD OH GOD PLEASE PETER SAVE ME BY MAKING THIS ABOUT INTERNS AND NOT SANTA'S LITTLE HELPERS)"
Dillon Flannery That's what I mean, he made a funny joke. Just talk to the man.
+Dillon Flannery ...but that doesn´t mean that you are *oblidged* to make a joke about everybody. You are still allowed to inteview a person without demonstrating how much you not have a problem with his appearance. ^.~
+Joey Deguelle I know what you mean. The subconscious mind is a sneaky little thing. ^.~
+Elle-Iza Logan did you just say sneaky "little thing". (My bad, I found that funny when reading the comments about talking to Peter Dinklage). lol
for me this guy is the main character of GOT
PBT I really like Bran... but Tyrion is the best character.
@John Wayne thats partly true
Actually...I think I read where he has been in more episodes than any other character. So I think he more or less is the main character if there had to be one.
When GOT ends this guy will be known as a fucking LEGEND.
I'm here cause I love Tyrion!!!!!!!!!
my favorite character on the show
The Mountain = Player.setscale 2.5
Tyrion Lannister = Player.setscale 0.5
use unlocked grip mod for mountain
+Aiden F. player.additem 00034C5D 50
+Aiden F. xD) Good one)))
+Aiden F. Console is cheating
Balinux Wasn't adding any items, just setting character sizes =(
He is one charismatic little dude
"The Station Agent"- Great movie
I'm constantly thrilled seeing Dinkledge in GoT, as I remember him fondly in 'The Station Agent'. Saw this guy, and it was this guy I really connected with. And still do.
so he is a dwarf in real life too???!!! MIND BLOOOOWWWWNNNN!!!!
lmao
I'M DEAD! LOL
dude xD
Omggggg
Well atleast he is true to himself.
Not like Andrew lincon when i first heard his accent i was like OWH GOD NOT HIM TO.
when you can't watch the video or read any comments because you are trying to update yourself with Game of Thrones and you're only at season 3
My exact situation hahaha
I was even scared to look at your comment man XD
I did not use utube for 7 days.I finished them all
Then you're back and you finished all the seasons
Yeah
Peter Dinklage is one of the coolest most chill guys of all time.
Dinklage seems like he'd be great to hang out with. Smart, chill, funny without trying hard.
Am i the only one who was impressed by how quickly he came up with caterpillar? I would have said something stupid like table or mug.
this interview was rocky...a lot of choppy edits made.
also seriously, I think they brought in a special desk for him
moiraine_damodred Yeah, I wanted to know what the on-set "wine" was, but they cut to a completely different comment.
moiraine_damodred I don't know... Jon is pretty short...
moiraine_damodred maybe you should have watched the show life...
Stewart making a joke about "mini" people as he has a dwarf for a guest. Classic
"I hope you don't die." great moment. I have a true story on a parallel line, a man was walking in New York city with his very young daughter who had only been reading for a short while when he heard her say, "All men must die." His blood ran cold until he saw she was reading a poster for Game of Thrones. Why couldn't I learn to read on profound things like that? It so much more interesting than, "I will not eat green eggs and ham."
This got to be the best interview with Peter! I laughed the whole time!!
Greatest actor of our generation
Such a talent....and great guy.
the most pivotal, and impressive character created, and/or evolved within GoT.
I want his hair and I want his voice.
Obi-Wan Kenobi exactly that says my son!
I always thought his original accent was the one used in game of thrones...looks like I was wrong.
I admire him SO MUCH. He´s the prove that no matter what cards life gives you.......u can still win.
His character is one of my favourites in the show. Great show!
Tha Dinkles! DINKLES IS MY SHIT!!!!!!
I'm five times larger than him.
And yet his voice is ten times larger than mine.
That voice of his makes me melt.
Amo a este señor....
He's a bigger man than some guys I know.
No he isn't.
+Mr.Rants He might know a really small person
Yeah, maybe.
METAPHOOOOOOOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"caterpillar." lol cute.
He made that series work and last the 8 seasons, he is just that good.
Wow that was amazingly authentic and fun interview!
The most striking thing about peter dinklage is that his voice doesn't sound like tyrions
Master Hoopla That's cos in this video he's using his real voice and accent
He's so sexy. So so sexy. I'm amazed.
3:36 John called it before Season 8. Boy what a horrific way to end the series.
his voice is great ever - with open or closed eyes - love his singing, too
"a team of mini-Martins", did he realaly said that to Peter Dinklage !? AHAHAHAH :D :D
The Mountain, just like his brother. Got to have his chickens.
One of the best actors out there! He makes you believe! GOT not a show without him! He's perfect!
His voice is just beautiful
SPACE PANTS
ARE INTERGALACTIC!
Best character in GOT!
Peter Dinklage is just a really good actor and strikes me as a cool chill person.. He looked so dignified walking in and I don't know that's just a great thing to be able to project to others simply walking into a room.. also I like his deep voice
He's one of my favorite actors
So the whole "eating every fucking chicken" thing runs in the Clegan family.
He's so cool.
awesome interview!
He seems like such a chill dude.
It's not that Trevor is bad, but Jon is SO DAMN GOOD!!! Wish Jon were still hosting the Daily Show... especially with Trump on the scene.
I hope we get Cleganebowl soon. Fighting over chickens.
you will be disappointed
He's just so splendid.
By far the best interview at Jon's. It doesn't look staged, and it's a two-way conversation.
I dont see any difference between his real persona and Tyrion's role.
That is the mark of quite a lot of unforgettable actors, I guess
he has a similar personality.
Jack Gleason said in an interview that Peter and Charles were the most like their characters in real life.
I always wonder how many women gave Peter a chance before he was famous.
Novakira Sato He's super charming I'm sure he did just fine
Ar Xiiv lol Considering how much women hate short guys… I'd reconsider that stance.
Oh Ok you've convinced me :P
This thread smells like virgines and tears... Oh HI, Martin.
Occifer Jehons lmao. Virgin tears
OMG I love the bit "I hope you don't die". That's just so damn funny!!
Why are these interviews so much better than a lot of recent ones?
