    Wondering if you should try intermittent fasting to lose weight? Registered Dietitian Whitney English explains that the claim that intermittent fasting can help you lose weight is only partially true.
    Intermittent fasting has become popular for good reason. Evidence suggests that eating within a limited window of time may help improve metabolic health and reduce the risk of certain chronic diseases like cancer and diabetes. And although intermittent fasting on its own doesn’t increase metabolism or help people burn fat, people who practice it tend to consume fewer calories, resulting in weight loss.
    In short:
    If not eating during certain “windows” during the day means you’ll eat less food, you’ll lose weight. If you end up eating the same amount you normally would when not fasting, you won’t.
    In addition, studies show that earlier “eating windows” (when people start fasting between 3 P.M. and 6 P.M.) are more beneficial to metabolic health than eating later in the day. This is because our body clocks are controlled by circadian rhythms that sync with light and dark cycles. Those rhythms affect many of our body’s functions, including metabolic reactions, which means eating late at night may negate any health benefits of intermittent fasting.
    Basically, if you’re going to try intermittent fasting, aim to align your “eating window” with daylight hours.

    How healthy are sweeteners like stevia, erythritol, Monkfruit etc…? And should you replace your sugar with them?

    How do I set up MFP to recognize IF? On my fasting days I keep getting a message saying I'm undereating and undereating can cause problems....unable to get past the message other than entering food I did not eat.....has to be a better way to set up MFP, right?
