I'm sure you know that there is a lever at the back of the mower by the tow hitch that will unlock the differential. Great video, love to see family working together.
I love watching John on that John Deere, its literally the perfect machine for that with that clutch setup. I love how it just goes to idle lit it does and it is so much easier to communicate without him having to adjust the engine speed like a regular lawn tractor. I miss having a young person around to drive the tractor to help move stuff, When my grandson gets a little bigger he will be on the machine for sure.

Go find ya an 8n or 9n Ford tractor to rebuild with him, I used to drive them when I was his age. Fun to drive and a lot more horsepower then the deer. Plus you can hire it out with implementation. Rear pto and 3 point hitch. You can also use a grader blade on it. And a bucket frt with hydrlics or back with 3 point hitch.
So the transmission release stuck that would have just engaged the drive system that can happen after when things sit for so long especially when the weather gets to it it can always cause moisture and cause rust it happens been through that myself! You can only work with what you got in the condition that sitting at that point
Folks sure can get petty when it comes to a divorce, mine was 24 years ago. She took the smoke detectors off the wall lol! Anyway been 21 years with a great lady, no complaints. :)
Seeing all that pile of gas cans makes me think your ex was going to burn down the house. The pile of wood was going to be the kindling for the fire. Glad she didn't get the chance

I just saw something that you did that is a really good idea you used an old rim to hang up your hose. I was going to scrap out an old Rim but now I think it's perfect to hang my extension cord I am going to borrow your idea 😀😀😀

In your 440 vs 390 comparison video, the bore of the 440 carb was bigger than the 390 carb. Do you know which Mikuni-style intake adapter will work for the 440 that has the larger bore?

Question. I had someone change my carb. Now it shoots out oil from a hose. Do you know why ? Is motor junk?
Make sure the parking brake is off then pull that lever out on the rear end should be free rolling in neutral
Maybe Jon could do a light buff job with swirl mark remover and then wax the tractor that Hood would shine up nicely I bet

What do you have on the John Deere for an engine? Seems to be far to much room in the engine bay.
