So for $2000 approx. more you get a rops a commercial kaw engine and nothing else.
I know right?!?!? That's why I just bought the apex and just upgraded the wheels, added rops, and changed the filter to the canister style with a kit. All for under a $1000

So Ariens was mostly for home use where Gravely is their commercial division?? I didn’t know that..
I am sold, I'm buying the Apex...
I brought this mower in 2021 from Lowe's this was money well spent. This mower is not at the store you have to order it from the store or online. I brought this mower for 6900.00 last year now at Lowe's this year it's 7800.00
I wonder why the Zenith isn't available in a 48" deck.
Lets see now about this commercial thing. Strength is your friend with a few exceptions. Sometimes you want a cheep part like a shear pin that breaks and protects the expensive stuff. When you run into something, you expect to lose some paint, but you you don't want your mower bent. Heaver means more steel and more strength. The down side? They cost more, your truck burns more gas hauling it around town, and then there is the ruts you can leave in soggy lawns. Is this machine for the owner/operator or perhaps for the guy who got kicked out of the bar last night? If you own it, you think about it! If not, their mind could be elsewhere. What is important is enough power, smooth operation, low maintenance, and strong enough to stay in adjustment, which means heavy enough but not heavier than needed. The Zenith fills that bill but wasn't designed to survive a destruction derby or 20 years of hard use.
Same as gravely proturn zx , HD, and Ariens Apex. Which means you get the same junk deck that will rattle your teeth out. Ariens tried to fix the crummy self tension system with an anti vibration kit after years of denying there was an issue to no avail. Ended up returning my HD for full refund. Sales guy here seems to have just been hired( doesn’t know the size of the front casters?) You had one job man! Know your product!

When I bought my Apex the salesman told me its the entry level mower for a small business. Arien's covered nothing for Warranty, Learned to fix everything my self. Never buy anything from Country Equipment Service, in Plymouth WI. Lies and Cheats People

If this had 3200 hydros this would be a Gravely ZX.
I have the Ariens Icon XL 42,I use it for just a few yards,second season & it may have a little over 50hrs on it,but basically a Gravely for less,they are both made on the same line🤓👍🇺🇸
Not entirely. Warranty is voided if using an Ariens mower commercially. There's also a difference that affects their transmissions, the way the gears are cut. A big enough difference that my Gravely dealer no longer stocks or sells Ariens mowers.
I dont see there 750 hours or 4 years on here about Warranty.

Know the feeling. Got me for a 44" for same price. Shittier trans, no rops, shittier engine but hey... it says Gravely so.. What a joke. 3 months less than 30 hours on it and time to trade in and move to another brand. This is not right because like you the dealer to the factory and back knew this was about to debut and not a fucking word was said. Instead they sell me on one that's half the mower same price and 1/3 the warranty.
Slap in the face to Gravely ZTHD owners at this price point. Doubly so for those who bought them in say the last 3 months for damn near the same price. One and the same except the price tag. Oh us the trans the rops etc... What a joke.
Not really. This is basically the proturn zx , which is a hd with rops and 3200 hydrogears. The hd came with 3100 hydrogears. The proturn zx and zenith both came with commercial kawi motors

no way would i buy an ariens/gravely mower ever again, i have a ariens apex, the manual clearly says it has a 3 yr warranty. the mower broke at 25 months and when i contacted ariens for repair they told me it only had a 24 month warranty. they also said the warranty was only good for 100 hrs but no where in the manual does it say that. regardless my mower only had 80 hours on it. all i wanted was them to send me the part that broke, they couldn't even do that. what a pos company, never again. buy something else....
The zenith is totally just an apex with rops and a different motor.
