Left this one a bit longer so you could see the full process of colouring skin tones and how it's a slow, transparent build. Hopefully makes it easier for those following along at home :D
always love a longer video! 💋🖤
It looks sick!! I would like to see it like in a dark skintone where there's a big difference between the colors of the palm and the back of the hand 🤔 I think it would be interesting to watch
Good idea! I'm going to try and find a model with a darker skin tone for my prosthetics application online class :D
Jesus christ...
looks soo real!
Thank you!
Thumbnail made my skin crawl. Good job :p
Thank you!
Just a few seconds in but it looks so good!
Thank you! I was happy with this one :D (that's rare for me hahaah)
just got stitches in my arm, perfect timing
Haha oh no! Hope you heal up quick
I’m continuously impressed every single time I watch your videos.
Thank you so much!
You are so good at what you do
Thank you!!
I looooove the curving around the thumb! Beautiful prosthetic, it forms around the curves flawlessly!
I can see why actors in films or television might have to spend four hours in a makeup chair prior to filming. It would be especially difficult when filming spans days or weeks, and continuity dictates identical looks each working day.
I think I asked this previously, but what to do in case of arm hair? I hope it isn't necessary to shave the arms.
Lawrence Davis to deal with arm hair, I’d hair punch the prosthetic to match the existing hair and lay it over top.
Oh yeah continuity is it's whole own thing, some people are really good at it and some people struggle.
Great questions, if there's arm hair you can glue the hair flat to the skin (something like telesis 5 works well and is easier to remove), and then the prosthetic itself will need hair on it to match, if the prosthetic is thick enough you can hair punch it one by one, or if it's super thin you can hand lay on the hairs one at a time but that's a lot trickier to control/get it to look right directionally.
Actors are happy when it take only four hours xD
Thank your for these in depth tutorials. It helps so much!
friggin awesome!!!! great work!
wow just wow you are incredible. looks real. great job
Brilliant work! 👏👏👏♥️♥️♥️
I haven’t seen any of your videos in my recommended or subscription box in 8 months!! I missed this channel so much😭

This is so perfect ...!!!
Thank you!
Yet another superb sculpt and application Kiana! at the very beginning of the video you mentioned that you would be going over how to suture and I was very excited to see how you sutured that prosthetic but I don't recall seeing specifics. Do you have a video out that shows the type of thread you use and how you actually apply sutures?
Georgia Jennings I think Kiana has a more detailed seperate video for that. I’m sure it won’t be long before it’s out : )
Oh yeah I totally ended up deciding that should be a different video but left the first part in the video, sorry for the psych out! I wanted to show three different kinds of sutures (there's like silk ones, and then i use blue and black nylon ones), and do that as it's own separate video. It's in the queue with the other freakmo x dabble dark application ones :D
Thank you Kanye, very cool
When I first saw the video listing, I didn't see who the video was from and thought it was a trauma room video that's how real it looked to me.
thanks Todd
Thanks so much! Best compliment :D
You are so welcome, it's well deserved.
Looks so real its giving me anxiety
This looks amazing!! What was the comment about Super Baldiez? It's been a while since I last got heavily into prosthetic makeup, but I remember it being hailed as a great encapsulator for silicone pieces. Is this still the case?
LOL I have got to do this and come back to my wife after a woods ride on the dirt bike!!
That’s so realistic.
AWESOME FX!!! THANKS for the tutorial! You mentioned using acetone to remove the outer part? Wouldn't that burn or irritate the skin??
No, acetone is basically just nail polish remover/like nail polish remover. It’s just a bit more concentrated, however being allergic to acetone can cause bad irritation so do a swatch of your materials before using them.
Acetone is bad stuff. Wonder if she could achieve the same result by just using IPA?
video on FX transfers?
Could I use spirit gum as an adhesive instead?
I recently purchased a prosthetic like this one for a cosplay coming up. I was wondering for the adhesive, do you need to mix like you did here or can you just use the adhesive by itself to glue down your piece?
If you're using silicone adhesive, you can use it by itself, it just dries out pretty fast and is pretty expensive, so the cheaper thinner means you can get more out of it because you can use it more thinly and not have it dry as quick :D but i'd ordinarily just use a prosaide adhesive because I don't have the $$ to use silicone adhesives. I Just had this one left over from a class I taught and thought it'd make my prosthetic application in these videos a bit quicker and easier :)
What liquid did you use to mix the color skin times to her arm..
Do you have anything for bald caps??
Wow
can i ask , from where can i buy similar prosthetic pls ?
How did you add the stiches to the prosthetic
Wow very realistic, looks exactly like my leg after the surgeries. Except for one little thing: the flesh around the stitches isn't that flat, it's a bit more swollen, just a tiny bit.
Stylomagic Thanks. Yeah, there are different variables that will determine how swollen the stitches look. We based ours off a reference image.
@@dabbledark If you need more references, I would send them to you. It would be absolutely awesome to be a model for Freakmos prosthetics :) I had two surgeries. First time the stitches look identical to the prosthetic in the video, second time the skin is scared and they sew it with inner stitches. My offer sound maybe a bit sick, but I do prosthetics on my own for a Zombie Larp, so I am used to that stuff. XD And I used my pictures as a reference too :)
Stylomagic you can never have too many reference pics - they are so useful for creating realism. Sounds like you will have an interesting scar to show off 🙂
@@dabbledark I don't know if it is so interesting, but its 24 stitches. So a lot of reference, I didn't find so many at Google in a decent quality. And after I had my injury, I knew I had to take them for later XD
Stylomagic good thinking 👍🏼
In your next videos, could you get a clear shot of all the products you use?
That looks absolutely disgusting!
So amazingly realistic! I would like to try it.
thanks
Amazing! My husband was looking behind my shoulder and said: Poor girl! What is happened?
lol
Cold you do this with nose putty instead?
You could ... as long as you don't move the wrist around, otherwise the wax will fall off or become distorted.
Hey! If it was just for practising at home you could certainly try, I've had a lot of trouble with putty around joints that move, so the wrist and the thumb would definitely pop up off the skin after maybe 15 to 30 mins, and wax doesn't move with the skin so any movement makes harsh lines in the wax. I'm also not sure how you'd go with trying to do fake sutures unless you just lay/glued them on top.
If it was for anything other than practising at home - like a costume party, halloween, a con, a movie, I wouldn't recommend wax cause it will barely last you even making it out the front door :)
Man, what if we had this kind of video with Da Vinci...
Chicken dinner! (yep, well late)
This concerns me
