Listening to David Croft's commentary when Pierre Gasly crossed the finish line to win gave me goosebumps. Such pure and raw emotion coming from his voice. He deserves more respect as he is very underrated.

Gasly was embarrassed and demoted to Alpha Tauri in 2019 and went on to win a race in 2020 . What a Champion !!!! That one was for Anthoine.

BlueFlag Alpha it’s not karma, if you demote Albon too, he would be amazing. It’s the pressure that a drive with a top 3 team brings, and the fact that the RB isn’t the easiest car to drive this season compared to the AT.

That is the craziest podium for Gasly!!!
It is never a small feat to win in a midfield team but Gasly pit at the right moment and got lucky with Lewis fumbling with the closed pitlane.
Vettel's o.g. 2008 victory was much more impressive since it was basically on almost pure pace, even if the top teams messed up quali with the wrong tires. Vettel still had the best pace in the race regardless, which can seldom happen these days with any of the midfield cars be it dry or wet. The Toro Rosso was arguably the 3. best car in 2008 even though they couldn't always put it together like the 5 bigger teams.

@@abrinked The problem with RBR is how obvious it is that they favor Max. That's why Daniel left. They want someone like Mark was to Seb or Daniel was to Max (even though it was supposed to be the other way around in his rookie season), a great driver who can win races but is not really a threat. Kvyat and Gasly are treated equally in Alpha Tauri and that's what makes the dynamics immediately different. And btw, Alex is getting more chances this season than Pierre ever had.

@@abhishekdubey4807 Pit lane was closed because a car broke down and stopped near the entrance. When the safety car comes out teams usually take advantage to pit, as the time lost in a normal pit stop is ~25 seconds, but because with safety car the race pace is slower, you only lose ~15 seconds.
However, it seems Hamilton failed to see the 2 red lights signaling the pit lane was closed, meaning they can't enter the pit lane, in this case because a car was being removed near the entry

i couldnt watch the race when it happened, but my dad could, so i face timed him and got him to switch it to formula 1 and he left his phone there for the second half of the race (after red flags), the quality was terrible but mein gott was it worth it, PIERRE GASLY TAKES THE WIN

@@nai_29 there's no such thing as overdriving a car. The car is capable of being wherever you put it. Its just a matter of having the skill and guts to put it there and Max has that in abundance.

There is something in your argument that I would agree with, but there are some clear examples of drivers outperforming their cars and setting new limits. One of the best being Alonso in 2012. That car didn’t belong anywhere near the top, but he lost the championship by just a few points.
