- Microcenter had the Tony Kanaan bundle for an unbelievable price. Does it dethrone the Logitech Pro Wheel? How do they compare? What even is the "Tony Kanaan" bundle? Is it simply an Asetek La Prima? No, it's much more than that.

One thing I forgot to mention is eco system! Asetek already has a massive lead in ecosystem with their wireless quick release and button box. Logitech needs to hurry up and release new products. If Asetek adds console compatibility before Logitech releases a new wheel, it could change the industry! Would you give up console compatibility for this bundle? Let me know!
The wheelbase is $499 currently which is a steal for that alone. The fact you got all of that for $300 is just mind boggling.

Just pick up the TK bundle from Microcenter yesterday. Even at $799 it is a steal. The wheel looks so much better in person compared to the pics on the website. It is very solid wheel and I am impressed. In addition, I was shocked how heavy the wheelbase is.
Pro tip: I wanted to try it out right away...so I just tried mounting it on one side of the wheelbase to my rig (2 bolts on the left side) and it is very stable/stout. It is about 3mm off-center but I don't notice and it doesn't budge an inch. I may eventually drill new holes, but maybe not.
Now that you can get round wheels for Asetek, I think this package is a no brainer. I ordered the universal quick release from Asetek's website. Then I ordered the Fanatec Sparco Rally replica rim (just the rim...no button plate).
The Asetek RaceHub software is solid...seems to work well.

Nice find, I saw this but unfortunately I was too late. What are your thoughts on the Fanatec CSL DD vs the Moza R5? The Fanatec specs and ecosystem are far better than the Moza but it looks like there are significant issues with the quality and support from Fanatec. Based on what your experience, which one would you purchase?
Man this bundle is at microcenter center for dirt cheap i found out about it too late and bought a whole Moza R12 CRP pedals setup i don't regret it but kinda wish i woulda saw this

Damn I wish I would have seen this video sooner. I just looked and it's $799 right now. I've been saving for a DD and this would have been the ultimate deal.
I went there and they gave me the 309.99 price but there where other worker saying not to give me the deal because they said micro center executives keep emailing the stores and telling them the website was having a problem and NOT TO HONOR the website price. I talked to customer service and the manager from micro center called me and he said come on in I got you! So thank you Matt Wallace at the Kansas City store for giving me the deal price!
I do think the green of the Tony edition is ugly. I also had sticker issues on my La Prima wheelbase. But I contacted Asetek and they sent out 5 replacement sets, and now all is good there. I agree with the mounting as well but I did buy one of there mounting plates and problem solved. Overall I love the Asetek gear though
It’s not for everyone. I can agree with that, fortunately the green isn’t everywhere. The wheel is kind of a compromise, the colors might not be great but you can’t find a better wheel for $200
Yeah but I play GT7 alot in VR and cant use the Asetek so I got the G Pro.....not unhappy...:) but you lucked out ....I did get 20% off tho
Hi, did you have reliability issues with the first TK bundle you bought from MC or any other issue. Why did you get rig off it?
None at all. But I got a coupon for Logitech and wanted to try it out. I met a veteran in Tennessee without an MC nearby and he wanted to buy it so I sold it at a loss to him. I also have PSVR2 and wanted to try Gran Turismo in VR to see if it “eases” the pain/satisfies the nostalgia bug. He got a good deal cuz I gave him the clutch pedal, clutch paddles and DRS paddles on the house!

Nice buy! Must have been a mistake. I bought G Pro and pedals before Asetek released the lower cost 12nm. Wish I had waited now. Not having diffrent wheels for Logitech G Pro is a major bummer.
Just got this bundle for $799 from Micro Center. Still have to get the cockpit and seat. Kind of worried about how to install this wheelbase to the cockpit I'm going to purchase, as it seems like this wheelbase isn't too compatible with that many cockpits out there. Will see... I guess

I got this TK edition but not for that nutty 300ish deal. Wow. I can't for the life of me figure out how I'm going to mount it to my GT Omega Titan Cockpit though. None of the bolt holes line up with any of the mounting brackets on the Titan. Sigh.
You’re going to have to drill holes or buy their mount unfortunately
@@BottomSplitPodium Yeah figured as much, none of the asetek mounts will work either though with the Titan so looking like a diy job I guess.
Not sure why people keep calling it ugly. i personally like the looks but more importantly it works. ergonomics are great and everything is within reach

It was a one and a million catch and I’m glad I was one of the few to catch it. This bundle is a steal even at $1k. Nobody believes I only paid $300 for it. Lol
That oil isn't meant for the bases I'm sure it's meant for the pedals right? Shouldn't have to oil the bases lol
$310 are you serious. Wow. I was thinking this looked like too great a deal for $800. I’m going to micro center next week, planning to leave with a full direct drive setup. I’ve been racing like a mad man on my Logitech g29 for almost 1.5 years now. Finally bought a PC last week and see what all the fuss is about.. I was really liking the look of the moza r16, but then the r12 looks a bit more attractive price wise, kinda helps pay for a better wheel. But you have me thinking maybe this TK combo is the legit deal. With Everything I see about wheelbases above this 12nm mark, it makes me think everybody that has them runs them at half the force anyways. One thing I can say is I would prefer to have a clutch pedal and for some reason the Asetek pedal is like $600? $200 for the brake and throttle but no matching clutch set up. Anyways, I guess I’m just rambling but do you have any experience with the moza r12? Would you wholly recommend the TK combo over pretty much anything else at $800?

But this wheel doesn't even work on console. So I'd pick the Logi Pro any day over the other one since I don't game on PC.
I know looks are subjective but to me it just seems like logitech is going to use that childish toy look on the entire g pro line whenever they get around to releasing it, just takes away some immersion where with that tk wheel for example you can believe something like that was ripped right out a race car in brazil somewhere. If im dropping big bucks on sim gear I at least want it to be as authentic looking as possible. Happy and a bit jealous you where able to nab that kit for so cheap. And thank you for being a normal human reviewing a topic and items, its rare these days.
Id deal with the atrocious Brazilian colorway for that price.
