On the bigger 6Gxx Mitsumotors, the real solution is to either go with 1999+ hydraulic lifters with a much larger oil hole, or go solid lifters. I fould imagine similar options exist for this, could even be the same part number. I haven't had the priveledge of owning a 6Axx motor, so I can't say for sure
