    I've been subscribing to Musio for about 5 months now, and I love it! You have helped to clarify some of the ways it can be used, for me, thank you very much for that!

    I fully agree on the worth of subscription plan use, especially if they have a as you say "Standard" Netflix, Disney, HBO etc. subsciption plan price .. most of eg students or non professional users can afford 2-3 subs of that price tag and can easy do with a few mike selection ... I honestly don't know what I would do with those 30 something mike positions that some libraries have. I would use 90% of the time experimenting with them instead of actually learning how to compose and just make music. So I could easy do with a "cheaper" version with lesser advanced mixing. I took myself in sitting one day with my newest purchase, The Yamaha Genos 2, and I spent freakin 4 hours experimenting with the new Steinberg REVelation Reverb they put in it to make my own version of the standard Cathedral settings to add some more advanced E/R for a church Organ setup... time I could have used on just playing the damn thing with the buildin Cathedral preset 😂 which sound perfectly fine 😘

    I had UVI sonic pass for a few months and loved it. My only orchestra libraries now are freebies from Spitfire Audio, including the BBC Orchestra.
    For anyone that has tried the above, how does Musio compare?

      The two main things are: 'articulations', BBC Discovery has the basics whereas Musio has whatever you need and, 'velocity samples', BBC Discovery has one only I think and the LABS products are great but limited. Again, Musio has whatever you need (or nearly). And then there's the Gina Luciani flutes - wow!

    Studio use Film and tv scoring libraries can be so expensive. I see this as a super deal for those getting into independent film soundtrack work or intermittent commercial gigs! Full disclosure I own one of their products and it’s very cool. They have an ear for wide dynamics from triumphant to delicate.

    This is great, but do you need an external hard drive ir a Samgung SSD to load these libraries? How much GBs?

    • @VultureCulture
      @VultureCulture  Před 3 měsíci

      I haven't had to. The program tells you how big the sample you're going to download is before you do. You can always just download the articulations you need if space is an issue.

  • @mrdali67

    Most modern DAW's have a configurable latency compensation buildin cause especially those Orchestral libraries often have latency cause of eg legato sameples which is almost worse than a really heavy virtual analog softsynth which is also why this kind of libraries simply won't work for live use cause you can't play the sounds without latency. Why even a just moderate good hardware rompler or whatever you call a digital synth based on samples is almost always gonna be the best choice for live use

    • @VultureCulture
      @VultureCulture  Před 5 měsíci

      Absolutely, but not the best for studio use, as it will sound too clinical or fake. It's definitely a trade off.

    A lot of specs are not yet available. E.G., are the samples wav files (16/24 bit?) or some form of data compression? I just got it for 199$, which makes me wonder if their business model is having trouble gaining traction. Further, I mapped a celli patch's articulations in Logic, and where Musio shows the switches starting at C1, they actually started at C0.

    • @VultureCulture
      @VultureCulture  Před 3 měsíci

      I assume they're all 16-bit WAV. $200? That's incredible!
      They're still working out a few kinks but truly I don't think something like the octave of the key switches being wrong on a patch is the end of the world.

    Can you please tell me how you get a screen recorder to play back your audio? I tried OBS, Share X and others with no luck. I know it's something small and stupid lol. Btw...I LOVE Musio! Great video. Thank you!

      It does give you a certain amount of updates. If you buy Musio 1 now (or have bought it at any point up to now) you will get any new releases they produce in Q1 2024 without having to pay anything extra. But anything they release past Q1 2024 you will need to pay for an additional upgrade, which presumably will be called "Musio 2" and, I'm guessing, will get you everything release over the course of an additional year or so (though they haven't yet released full details of that).
