    So surprised. I thought very high humidity in a greenhouse cabinet would eliminate spider mites or at least minimize them. I spray my indoor plants roughly every second time I water them with a spray called Natures Way (Australia) It has fatty acids that kill a lot of insects that are problematic I have gone from huge bug problems to almost none. Hope it works out OK for you. I am a long time subscriber, possibly first time I have commented.

    I also had huge spidermite infestation, it took so much repotting, so much care for over weeks, so many of my plants died, it just stopped my plant frenzy. I just have some new plants now, very separated from each other, treat them each month.
    My tip is to always check at the nursery if the plant i want is infested. Its spider mite fest over there. i dont buy plants that are adored by spider mite like ivy, I always quarantine my new plant for one month , repot and treat it after one month before introducing it with my new plant.

    I always thought 🤔 spider 🕷️🕸️ mites were more prevalent in a dry space. Can't believe you got them in that humid climate. Thoughts 🤔

    I used to use neem oil or any insecticidal soap spray until I started using Systemic Insect Control Granules. I don’t get spider mites, typically it’s thrips but I 100% recommend trying this out. It’s cut back a lot of time wiping the leaves and spraying every plant down with something. My mental health is up and down, and I eventually was starting to give up on my collection until I reached out and asked around. I don’t use neem anymore but still use some sort of insecticidal soap just to be safe (once in a blue moon) This stuff really has helped out a ton and I know it’ll help you too. Post a video if you try it out, I wanna know what you think! Love seeing your videos!❤️

    Yeah im surprised you had spidermite breakout in your cabinet. Also, the new leaves being stuck might indicate that the huumidity in there might not be as high as you think it is. I would definitely check on the humidity in there. But all in all I love these types of videos you produce! It's very relaxing and also at the same time it is relatable! :)

      Biggest tip I can give to find a plant swap near you is to create a Facebook page and look for plant groups local to you. I ended up joining Facebook just to join plant groups and I’m so glad that I did. My local group organizes a plant swap every 3 months or so. We usually meet at a park so there’s enough room

    This was so relaxing to watch! I have so far set up 2 of my 4 milsbo tall cabinets, but my lights have unfortunately burned some of my favorite plants so I am desperately searching for “safer” lights. Seeing your albo front and center in your milsbo and seeing how amazingly full you are able to keep your cabinet convinced me that I need the same lights that you’re using. Currently, I have to keep my plants pushed way up to the front of my cabinet so that none of them are directly under the lights I have, which are centered above each of my 3 shelves. I have had to take more than half of my plants out and my greenhouse looks so sad and empty! The lights I have installed in my cabinet are the monios-l t8’s (2 feet). Please, can you tell me which lights you’re using? I want so badly to be able to put all of my plant babies into my cabinets and not be stressed out about them burning up. My el choco red had a magnificent huge leaf that burned and looks absolutely horrible, and I even burned one of my baby Thai constellation leaves. I could cry. I kept a close eye on all of my plants for the first couple of weeks and thought they were good. Then they burned in what literally felt like overnight. One day they were happy, gorgeous and thriving and the next day they were ruined🥲. I have spent hours searching for t5’s but I am so hesitant to buy any new lights because I don’t have any planty friends, and I don’t know anyone that has a greenhouse cabinet, so I don’t have anyone to ask. Please help!! I bought 4 tall milsbos and just finally set up the second one yesterday. Now I am a nervous mess and afraid to put any of my expensive, beautiful babies into my cabinets!! Have you had any issues with leaves burning at all? Your plants all seem so happy and you’re able to fill your cabinet up so perfectly!! When you said you had too many plants in your cabinet and didn’t know how to feel about it, I wanted so badly to tell you that it looks amazing and I’d be SO happy to be able to fill mine up like yours!! Btw- your micans came out SO GOOD!!! And your albo is doing so well- it’s stunning!! I remember all of the stress and worry you went through with that one- you must be so so happy with how she’s doing now! Great job! Honestly, if you could link your lights, or give me the brand and wattage of the lights you’re using I would be forever grateful!!

    • @ErikaLodes
      @ErikaLodes  Před 2 lety +2

      amzn.to/3LUDIe9 These are the lights! My plants don't get burned unless they are literally touching the lights, so I hope they work for you! Just can't let them get too tall which is where i go wrong lol
