My papa, Billy Sutherland, played for Wigan against Man City when they lost 1-0 in the FA Cup in 1971 and he always remembers it as his biggest game (at the time Wigan were a non-league team playing in front of 46,000). Watching this game with him was something special and I'll never forget it.

This will always be the best day of my life!!! I was behind the goal and caught the goal on camera. The atmosphere was amazing, if you're ever wondering whether to watch a football match at Wembley, go. Even if you lose it is a phenomenal experience!!

I'm a Spurs fan, when we won the CC in 07 beating the gooners n the chavs I thought was an amazing feat, all things considering. But this was just fab, Martinez and the lads did Wigan, a rugby town ffs, a whole new level of pride, especially in their relatively short history. Just shows what you can do with belief and a plan - great story, great game.
always love the comment of 'rugby town' for the past 10 years Wigan latics have been getting about 5,000 more supporters per home match than the rugby 'the top rugby team in the land' - and that's Warriors playing all but 2 teams that are northern - Saint and Warrington are about 10 miles away!

We are Wigan! One of the best football games of my life!
Not trying to take anything away from them but Wigan was actually favored in every match they played in this cup run except the quarters against Everton where they weren't underdogs by that much and of course this game. They were even favored in the semis. It was still a great, unexpected run if for nothing else the final itself but it wasnt quite the Cinderella story it was made out to be.
I am from Romania and I was watching the same teams playing in the cup but this time the game from Februray 2018, I never actually knew Wigan had ever won the FA Cup because I'm not so into football. I was rooting for Wigan and when they scored I couldn't have been happier for them
