Forgot the delayed response. Best scenario would be to tape into your 12v constant but I have a unique battery chemistry that would run my voltage down and destroy the lifespan of my alternator.
I ended up not using an external and just the cigarette power adapter supply. Has been working great and already paid for itself (wife was hit from behind at a red light).
I found formatting the card on the unit is necessary.
Afterward, I removed the card and connected to my computer.
Once I copied the .BIM file over, I put the card back into the cam and it updated to version 37.1.
Tanks for the vidéo. I have N4.IT can nit overwrite. Every time the card is full, The recording stop.I have to take the SD card out and format.

So you need to check a few things to troubleshoot: Are most the videos recorded in the “Event” folder or “Normal” folder? Events will not be overridden. Fix is to change the G-Sensor setting to High. Check that and get back to me.
FYI, the manual says the SD card should be formatted every month.

Its not true 4k. So you know. Found out after purchasing one myself. It uses a 5mp camera so basically its a 1080p +60. Still not bad but its false advertisement. There is a video on this matter online.
That sucks lol. Still looks good nonetheless.
Was looking at the camera settings a bit more and it does have a 3840x2160p resolution at 30fps. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, the hardware is the Sony Starvis 5mp. Should be 8mp to take advantage of the software setting.
