    Life. Probably the most fascinating thing that exists, for philosophers, poets, and of course, scientists.
    Humans have always wondered if we were alone in this vast Universe. Like a puppy dog in a giant mansion, we would probably feel better if we had companions. So we started to explore by our own means, mostly by our imagination, until the invention of the telescope in the 17th century. But what information can telescopes provide us in the search of “older” extraterrestrial life? And where should we look for it?
    Before answering these questions, let’s take a look at the Sun and our spaceship: the Earth. The Sun is a “mediocre” star. It is neither small nor big. It is medium-sized, a so-called ‘big dwarf’ that is neither the hottest nor the coolest. As for the Earth, we are neither too close nor too far from the Sun, the planetary equivalent of the midpoint between Ashton Kutcher and Charlie Sheen. We are where we should be for life to prosper, exisiting in the habitable zone of the Sun, like the Moon and Mars.

    The idea that fascinated me to begin with is that question of "would we even know an alien when we see it?" Who says extraterrestrial life doesnt exist on planets we cannot begin to approach, maybe something non carbon based even, the possibilities are just so endless its hard to imagine a situation of which we were completely alone- even if the life isnt as we would define intelligent.

    Life... the problem is also that any other life out there would have had to been shining brightly during a specific window of time for us to see it right now. We could miss them by 1000 years, or less. Likely much more.

    I read an article that exotic life forms made of plasma may possibly live on the sun. It may have been a "theory" paper, but I like to think of the amazing possibilities of life.
    What we know about us and the universe is probably less than .000001% of what is out there.
    Look at all the things we don't know.

    Or maybe it's all an 'excuse' like the Biocentric relative perspective of our consciousness, each to our own Universe like players in a game?
    Your universe didn't exist until u sensed it, the more you observe life the bigger it gets, not a big bang but looks like that from our perspective, an emergence.

    • @botchedintellectualvspseud1404
      @botchedintellectualvspseud1404 Před 2 lety +1

      I mean we all interpret reality yes with a consciousness , it's quite basic necessity for every bio life to exist , we all experience the world quite differently,but when you break down all our thinking patterns behavior with subset groups of similar people , it s very basic in nature and almost a pre planned disposition ,the mystery or intrigue I suppose is in 50/50 significance or even less...suddenly the why questions start to creep in mind is the why questions a coping mechanism or even worse a survival aspect of the brain to survive,...And then objective reality sets in..I disagree with your statement about observing life it's always been there ? Life or reality does not get bigger just you're brain cells store up more information if you didn't know there is whole world out there LOL...

    • @matthewcairns2493
      @matthewcairns2493 Před 2 lety

      @@botchedintellectualvspseud1404 Yes of course it exists but from others' relative perspectives and consciousness/universe a multiverse, it's all in Quantum Mechanics also.

      @@botchedintellectualvspseud1404 Yes and this whole world in Quantum Mechanics is just waves of possibility until we observe them, you disagree with Science? Science doesn't care about ur opinions, how can you store memories if you haven't experienced things? That doesn't make sense either, I'm talking real Science here, life doesn't get bigger? Wrong again, humans grow, brains grow and the universe grows. well some people brains grow, some don't LOL

    Spoiler alert!!: Last three minutes of the vid are a cereal ad.
    Anyway, I don't see why it's so difficult for people to grasp the concept that, while it may be possible for intelligent life to exist elsewhere in the Universe, it's also possible that we may just be the first intelligent species. Like, we have no "universal" standard to go by to determine how long it takes for intelligent life to evolve independently in whatever random location in the Universe. All we know is vaguely how long it took for us. And for those of us who do believe life in general *can* eventually evolve into intelligent life, you HAVE to believe some species in the Universe HAD to be the first to do that. Why not us? And that would totally explain why we haven't discovered ANY other intelligent life in all of our observations and studies... aside from that fact that those observations/studies have been relatively limited, considering the grand scheme of things.
