  • The Roccat Kone XP Air is the wireless variant of the Roccat Kone XP. It is made to be a top-of-the-line productivity and gaming mouse. The differences between them are minor. In this video I’ll explain them to you along with discuss if it is worth the upgrade.
    They are targeted as productivity mice with 15 buttons. They have an ergonomic right-handed shape. Among other things.

      @@michaelschwarz5907 Solid choices. I've heard great things about the Lamzu. I'm not sure what the XW is though. And of course one of my favorites of all time the V2 Pro.

      Great question. I have no idea. I'd look but I had some flooding in my basement some time ago and those mice got lost in some boxes and I have no idea where they are. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

    Have a really pressing question: I bought and have been using the XP wired version. Love the mouse, my only issue is the side buttons on the side of my XP are what i would describe as mushy and membrane like. They have some wiggle to them without actually clicking them. Are the side buttons on the XP Air more solid, set in place buttons? Similar to something like the G604.

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před rokem

      I had a flood in my basement so I have no idea where my wired Kone XP is. But according to my comparison video I say “I think the buttons on the AIR feel better than on the WIRED for everything except the primary clicks. But this could be due to variance. But they feel more membrane like on the Wired vs mechanical on the wireless.” I do still have access to my Kone XP Air and I would still call them more of a mechanical feel like most gaming mice and would not call them mushy. They definitely feel solid with a nice satisfying click. But variance is definitely real (especially with Roccat) so I can’t guarantee anything. But I definitely found the buttons (except for primary clicks, again see variance) to feel better on the AIr all around. I haven’t tried the G604 for a long time so couldn’t tell you.

      @@ThomasMuehler Sucks to hear about variance being present with Roccat's stuff, not that Logitech doesn't have it too. Mice end up the loudest parts of a computer / nearest to the ear and so I'd really like some consistency in the higher end.. Looking what to shop since this g700s is starting to crap out on me and the more I look up, the less options I'm left with as far as programmable buttons and quality of life goes.

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před rokem +1

      @@omnirhythm You’ve got a good point. The mouse has almost become the loudest part of a computer. Another mouse you may want to look into if weight isn’t a big concern for you is the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro. I use that as my general browsing mouse. Ton of buttons. And I love it. Excellent all around. Also comes with the best specs on the market. Comfortable shape. RGB is spectacular. My only downside is the weight.

      @@ThomasMuehler Thanks for the advice, it's made my final list so far along the G502X, the Kone Air / Air XP and well, not much else left :D I got used to Logitech's hyperscroll, tilt wheel and the app profiles so I appreciate any competitor's efforts to follow that path :D

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před rokem +1

      @@omnirhythm Hyper scroll is awesome. As is the tilt wheel for buttons. Both of which the Basilisk have. I’d love to hear whichever one you go with. As like you said it is difficult to find a lot of competitors. So, hearing your thought process and findings helps me out a ton just personally, and also with recommendations.

    hi, kone xp vs xp air, left and right click button feel the same? i tried a xp, love everything about it except the left and right button, feel quite stiffy heavy to push.

    • @ThomasMuehler
      @ThomasMuehler  Před rokem +1

      I don't remember what I said in the video but I go over that exact question.
      I do know my Kone XP and Kone XP AIr primary clicks feel radically different from each other. I prefer my Kone XP. I can't remember if there is variance between left/right click (but I think I have a dedicated review which would mention that). I can't test it because my basement flooded so I'm unsure where it is. But there is extreme difference between the left and right click of my Kone XP AIr. To the point I'd do an RMA but since I got it for free I don't feel comfortable doing that.
      I also mention my thoughts on if the switch actuation is mild, moderate, or severe in my videos (as again I can't remember off the top of my head) and have been using other mice recently.
