- Day In My Life at University of St Andrews || BSc Economics student (before the coronavirus)
I filmed this video 10 days ago and it's crazy to see how things have changed.. Due to the corona outbreak, St Andrews has now suspended all face-to-face teaching and examinations until the end of the semester (after the spring break everything will be done remotely). I'm now back at home in Prague, and will only return to St Andrews to get the rest of my stuff (probably at the end of May). Stay safe, everyone ❤️

Love this video, I was a student there from 1994-1998. I lived in Old Wing, University Hall. Brilliant to see little bits of uni hall again. I also got married in St Andrews, Sallies Chapel ❤️ I miss the place, I feel so sorry for everyone who's had their time there spoiled by coronavirus x
Corona outbreak was crazy. Now I miss going to lectures just to see my friends :/.

You work so hard!! I came to study here last year and I can only admire the amount of studying you do. I love it here, and I am starting to relate with you and so many other students on some of the things St Andrews Uni brings such as the long DRA walk or the amazing oat milk that I will buy everytime I shop. I hope I get a bike next year hahahah
AWW this makes me so happy!! I love how unique St Andrews is and how it connects people with the small things like hating seagulls or the long DRA path. It's like all students are sharing inside jokes together haha

I’m from Scotland so I was just planning on going back after spring break but the doomsday email from Sally makes me think I should just move home permanently. I’ll probably go up the weekend to pack all my stuff, gonna be really upsetting :(

I went to morrison and tesco dozen of times for paper bulk and I still Did not get one. And it's like everybody is leaving St Andrews. I am the only one left in my flat in DRA. I will graduate this June, there will be no graduation ceremony and no photo with my friends. I am not feeling well, even sad.

I’d consider applying to st Andrews later this year but I’m a bit worried because I hear they don’t accept many Scottish students. It looks like a really good uni though! :)

Hi!! I have an unconditional for St. Andrews for biology and psychology (joint) and am wondering whether to accept it! My only worry is that I won’t fit in as I’ve heard there’s a lot of posh/ rich people and I definitely don’t fit into this category. Also wondering what the social life is like? I’m not a ‘going to uni for the clubs’ type person but at the same time don’t want to be bored and feel isolated. Stuck between St. Andrews and Glasgow really need help!!! Thank you xxx
Hii! I'm so sorry for such a late reply! You really don't have to worry about not fitting in - there's people from all kinds of different backgrounds and everyone is honestly very nice. I also don't go to clubs much tbh, but there's so many other things happening around you all the time! There's always some talks, society events, balls etc! Even though St Andrews is a small town, I have never actually found myself to be bored there - there's always something to do:)

Hi! I've just always been very academic and had many outside-of-school hobbies/projects...and fortunately succeeded in the IB. But I think that the personal statement was the most important part of the application - I made sure to show my passion and interests. It's also always good to express your opinions about certain topics (they love it when you show them you are a critical thinker and can think outside the box).

Hey Adela, I am Sakshi from New Delhi- India. I have received scholarship to pursue my postgrad in Sep 2020 at University of the University of St. Andrews. St. Andrews is indeed very beautiful. Are you residing in Fife? how is the accommodation overall?
OMG congratulations!!! You're gonna love it!
I lived in Fife Park last year and honestly really liked it - you get to live with 4 other flatmates so it's much more intimate than living in halls (so it's easier to make friends as a fresher). The only downside to it is that it's quite far (relative to everything else in St Andrews haha) - it's like 10min by foot to the science buildings and like 20min to the centre of town. I actually bought a bike at first but didn't end up using it much because I just didn't mind the walking in the end. Most other accommodations are halls (so you share a corridor with like 40 other people). I live in University Hall this year and like it too :)

Ashmeig osman I think it really depends if you’re applying as a Scottish, English, EU or international student. It’s the hardest for Scottish and EU because they don’t pay tuition fees (I applied as a EU student). I did the IB and was predicted 44 points and got 44 as well :)
Adela I’m an international student predicted a 41, do you think I have a chance? 😂
