    Hi , I want to build my own power press at home, how complicated it is to build at home?

    • @eltunene
      @eltunene  Před rokem

      Dear Kamohelo, some people has built hydraulic presses using a power steering pump, together with the cylinder used for the same car. You can find them in junkyards. Then you can use some solenoid valves found in industrial machinery discarded stuff. Please check this video published elsewhere in youtube czcams.com/video/PSAtLNn8NwE/video.html&ab_channel=obix

    What is the component on the flywheel?Can anyone spell it for me?

    • @eltunene
      @eltunene  Před 5 lety

      The component on the flywheel shaft is a clutch, normally, it does not operate by friction, but by two metal parts suddenly coming in contact with each other. These clutches are made in a variety of ways, but their function is the same, they couple both sides of a split shaft and, after a rotation of about 360 degrees, they decouple again. They can be either triggered by a solenoid, or by mechanical means.

    so the heavier the fly wheel the bigger the tonnage??

    • @eltunene
      @eltunene  Před 4 lety

      Yes, indeed. However, the bigger the flywheel the bigger the motor also, since the flywheel momentum has to be "recharged" by the motor after every stroke.

      @@eltunene I have a 2 ton press and want to mod it to be able to handle 20-40 tons. how would i figure out tonnage to weight ratio?

    • @eltunene
      @eltunene  Před 4 lety

      @@cetubuth7461 I advise you to check with someone who has already done that, the efforts imposed on the frame, connecting rod, and all the press parts in general is huge, it can even break apart!
