  • This is footage of a flight over the desert in Southwest's "Classic Livery". The tan color of the aircraft against the desert background is absolutely beautiful and really memorializes the Herb Kelleher era of Southwest. The livery that started it all. More specifically this particular aircraft is registered N714CB (the CB in memory of Colleen Barrett). The Classic livery was used until 2001 before switching to the better known Canyon Blue and Heart liveries. Enjoy the flight! Special thanks to Ryan Bomar who helped organize this flight. Better than the two later liveries imho. Love it! I miss these aircraft dearly. I think we need a few more MAX retrojets like this in the canyon blue and desert colours.

      Definitely agree. It’s the unique liveries like these keeping modern airliners interesting these days.

      @@LoveJT8D Yep. I just wish they kept the black nose and white window outlines to keep this more "retro." This looks like a modern version of the desert gold livery and would be a good new livery. As much as I love it, it looks sort of empty without the black nose and white window outlines.

    even though that was a short flight you had, still getting to ride on one of only 2 southwest 737-700's with that livery is a very special thing. Love the video!

      Thanks! Yes, they don’t cycle through very often when it comes to hoping it makes a visit at your local airport.

    HOW COME THIS SOUTHWEST PLANE IS GOLDEN!?

    • @LoveJT8D
      @LoveJT8D  Před 4 lety

      This is a special retro livery. This is what Southwest Planes looked like back in the 80s and 90's.

    • @superswagproud7189
      @superswagproud7189 Před 4 lety +1

      It is the older version of the liveries, it was popular in the 70's through the 90's.

      Chilean Aviation Films Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. I think the desert is so beautiful to fly over. So many types of mountain formations.

      Nice! Glad you had a flight on this one. I’ll have to look up it’s status but indeed a shame if it’s retired. Hopefully will have a new life somewhere.

      Delta TV It comes across that way, but I think it was just some friendly blunt Southwest humor. There really isn’t much time to drink on the short Vegas flights from Socal. A handful of those passengers probably intend to slam and drink down anyway haha.

    • @deltatv3525
      @deltatv3525 Před 4 lety

      LoveJT8D Yes 😂. But sometimes it’s about a 35-50 minute flight, and that gives you to drink it normally until about 15 mins prior to landing or when they do the final pass.

    • @LoveJT8D
      @LoveJT8D  Před 4 lety +1

      Delta TV That’s true and most likely folks are naturally drinking at a slower pace when returning from Vegas 😉
