He (Albert) Came To Musicians Outlet In Palm Desert, Calif. Back In “96” And Introduced That Signature Guitar To Us.. Played It, And Gave An Incredible Seminar To All 50 or so of us Guitar Players That Night ~ We Were ALL Blown Away 🎸💨
Thank you for sharing!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Oh ..AND he also broke out his B-Bender Tele, and Wow’d Us with that too ~
Thank You Tomo For All That You Do For Us 🙏
Unique shape, but also just has that really clean and pure tone you know and love.
Great tone! This color makes me feel "Vintage Guitar" then I want 7.25
@@TomoFujitaMusic It's really pristine and vintage-looking, absolutely!
I love the shape, and as usual your wonderful playing really brings out that great sound. They are making some amazing instruments in Indonesia, especially for the price.
Thank you for sharing! Yes!
I bought this same model guitar a couple of months ago, I've been playing almost every day for 2 to 3 1/2 a day. I love this guitar. The size, weight, balance, neck profile, fretboard radius are all just perfect for me. The Sterling by Music Man Albert Lee AL40P Sounds great too. Tomo, Thank you for the great demo.
Great to hear! Fun guitar indeed! Thank you for sharing!
You're very welcome! My pleasure!
Great chordal playing! Beautiful. Subscribed. Guitar sounds great, too. It has a bright sound without being harsh. The top end is really nice. It almost sounds like a 12-string higher up, occasionally.
Thank you so much! This guitar is so much fun!
You got some nice country chops my friend!! I've owned my Hard tailed Albert Lee with SSS configuration since Feb 2009 and still LOVE it!!!!
Thank you so much! Great guitar!
Thank you.
I'm a fan of Albert Lee. Great picker.
But I'm also very impressed with how you can change your "vibe" so quickly and easily.
You're very welcome! So Great to hear that! Tasty player!
Thank you so much!
Tomo's plucking gives the strings soo much attack is like a really punchy compressor. Thats what dynamics is all about.
Thank you so much! My hand... compressor pedal is built in.
Always impresses me how you comp such interesting chord progressions on the fly!
Maybe someday I'll be able to do that too!
I made that up! Thank you so much!
In order to play like that... two things: 1) Listen blues & jazz 2) Learn Music Theory with Ear Training. Music theory itself wont do anything unless you hear them & identify each intervals.
@@TomoFujitaMusic I'll start doing more ear training.
I just recently started transcribing some of my favorite songs to help with the ear training, I've read a lot about playing scales over "drone tones" to really internalize the intervals.
I appreciate how much time you take to reply to all these comments.
You remind me of my late grandfather who immigrated to America from Hiroshima in the 30s.
Stay well.
@@dannychoriki1977 Thanks for sharing. Study deeply on two things. 1) Major scale 2) Triads Without any tabs or shapes. Focus on intervals. One string approach is popular one. You're very welcome! More details I teach at my Guitar Wisdom. So nice! I am from Kyoto Japan.
@@TomoFujitaMusicI liked the almost Ry Cooder stuff in the middle. Your chord comping is ridiculous man. My brother’s a jazz guy and can play chordal comping but it’s beyond me at this point. I need to practice. Also.. Kyoto is amazing.
Thank you Mr.Fujita.
This guitar has special sound.
(Good for Jazz/country.)
Thank you so much!
Love your playing Tomo! I like the sound and look of the guitar too. Thanks
Thank you so much! Great guitar!
really impressive guitar.😍👍🎶🎵🎶🎵.
Thank you! Great guitar!
wow you have a great country sound i hope one day i can play like that
Thank you very much!
Albert is great!!
Thanks for the demo
Yes! Thank you!
Hi Tomo! I truly love your Chanel! So inspiring! I also love Albert lee and Eric Clapton and there is an album called just one night in which Albert lee play and sing "setting me up". They both are really amazing guitar players. Thank you Tomo for your content!
Thanks for sharing! Albert Lee's soloing on blues! So tasty!
Just One Night was a live album recorded on EC's Japan tour. I was at the Budokan concert where they announced, they were recording for a live record, My friend, a drummer said he wanted to see if his voice can be on the record, so on the song cocaine, he delayed his yell, I think it;s on there. By the way, Budokan was designed for martial arts competitions, To my ear, Nakano Sun Plaza had much better acoustics, but manybe its different on recordings,
Nice Tomo, playin that Albert Lee. Love Albert, he goes back to the 50's I believe played a Blk Gibson Custom back then.
Thank you so much!
ERNIE BALL NECKS ARE JUST SOOOOOO COMFY! NOW I WANT THAT ALBERT LEE!!!!
Yes! So good~
It's lovely, but it's currently priced about a third more on this side of the Atlantic.
Thank you! Thank you for sharing!
Stopped in to check out the guitar but wow nice playing!!!
Thank you so much!
I love how this video turned from "gear demo" to "music". :)
Thank you! I hate playing unmusical noodling on guitar.
I only play music!
Couple things....I was a bit memorized when you were on the neck PU, and after a few minutes I noticed my resting face was a smile. I'm interested in the guitar, but I'm pretty sure you could take a $100 piece of crap and make it sound amazing! I'm not sure your review helped me, but it REALLY entertained me!! Great job.
This guitar is well made! I love it. Thank you so much!
I like that little opening you did I need that in my repertoire. Can you do a brief tutorial on that? You're the coolest and the best. I've always had a soft spot for the Albert Lee's, I should listen to more Albert Lee. Lovin it Tomo!
Thank you so much! I made it up! I need to learn that first. Basically blues, gospel, country jazz! Mix all good sounding chords. Albert Lee does beautiful chords.
@@TomoFujitaMusic I know you made it up! So cool! I felt those elements coming through. Awesome stuff man!
Wow, impressive instrument (and performance by the way)
Thank you!
Great playing!
Thank you so much!
Soooo smooth 👌
Thank you!
if EBMM made a USA Albert Lee with P90 pickups, I'd be very tempted. Looks super cool!
Really awesome tone! fun playing some jazz too.
@jorisev, Music Man does make a Albert Lee Model with P90s. It's called the "Ghost In The Shell" it has 3 P90 pickups in it.
Great sounding guitar and neat shape. I'll have look into the Sterling guitars, I've been wanting an Ernie Ball for a long time, this might be a better option for now.
Really cool guitar! Thank you!
Albert Lee is amazing
Yes yes!
I remembering playing in Finland Albert Lee signature in 90's, yes I am old(57).
Maple fretboard and I am pretty sure its radius was 10". Or I have just that memory little faded😂.
But it was great and especially neck felt perfect. I think played it just acoustically.
Thank you for sharing!
Superb sounds, thank you for this demo. This p-90 rig-electric, very tempting to seek one out at a great price point. **smiles**
You're very welcome! Thank you! Fun guitar with P-90 tone.
Maybe Ask Zac could teach split triads and Timo-San will teach County Swing
Thank you so much!
ThT last bit was sooo alien and cool! 300 Ms. Check.
Thank you for sharing!
Tomo,
This ax seems like a natural fit, for you.
The whole tone chain justs works with your finger pressure and attack. And it has only been in your hands a skinny minute!
On an electric 12 R would be alien to me.
Albert gets around!
Hopefully Bill Kretchner, has been in your ears.
That Fender E XII moves around.
I would love to experience your take on that one.
Be well. Chris
Thank you for sharing. I prefer vintage style 7.25 (not RI 7.25!)
I love my 1966 Fender Electric XII very much!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank You.
7 1/4 is my favorite. With only 2 on hand, most of my time is spent on 9 1/2- 10.
G&L's work is excellent.
When I get my friend's amp fixed, I'll go back for some triads! Be well Chris
very interesting guitar Tomo!
Have you ever considered putting flat-wound strings on a guitar like that?
The warm tone you get along with no string noise is awesome to me!
Yes! I do all the times! Flats on my Strat, Esquire, Musicmaster, Duo Sonic! Fun!
Only problem is no string noise so I need to use a regular strings on my main guitar so I can maintain my light touch.
Action sounds crisp along with the mini humbuckers / P 90 . Indonesia make great guitars. I have a few made there and are excellent.
Great guitar! Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Have you ever checked out Speedy West and Jimmy Bryant?? They were a big part of Tennesee Earnie Ford's band out in LA in the 50s. They released a couple of instrumental records together as well as apart, but to me while Hank Garland represents that sort of Charlie Christian big band swing guitar style in Nashville session musicians from the 1950s Bryant really stretched the form and I think laid the framework for that Albert Lee style guitar.
Yes! I love them! Amazing! Hank Garland too! Beautiful player! Love those guys! Thank you for sharing!
@TomoFujitaMusic Thank You!! Here's one that maybe a little deeper dive. Thumbs was Roger Miller's guitar player for quite some time. Now I don't believe folks outta try and emulate his style necessarily _ I an more of a Jerry Reed/Chet Atkins guy_ but thumbs...wow czcams.com/video/xURlTTMalHA/video.html
Not that this has anything to do with music, well, I guess it does, but not with this guitar, I guess. Anyway, my daughter is currently taking care of TEF's youngest cousin Rowrena Ford Stone. Her father was Ernie's brother, and he was a preacher. Renie, as she's known, is the youngest of many children, the oldest was her sister who was the same age as Ernie. She used to play guitar, she was a picker, and she gave me her double pick guard rose inlay Palmer classical guitar that she used to play. She's not doing too well now as time is catching up with her.
@@randydean23 You're welcome! Thank you for sharing!
thanks for the review, mr. Fujita! one question, is the neck profile too thick? how does it compare to a regular Fender Modern C shaped neck?
You're very welcome! Similar I think
I have the music man model the neck is very narrow and more of a U shape. Almost too narrow.
First, I want to say that really love your channel! Secondly, you have had a huge number of new gear videos recently. Please let us know when you show off new gear if you purchased it at full price, or if it was sent free or if you are getting paid to have it on your channel. I think these are the rules on youtube, and I worry that you might get in trouble.
Thank you so much! Thank you sharing. I buy my own gears so this way I don't owe anyone. Next one is a Gibson Les Paul (most expensive guitar I ever bought! ) I could not pay it right away so I had to wait (I needed to sell a several guitars.) Thank you for your kindness.
@@TomoFujitaMusic Awesome! Glad to hear it!
Just One Night
Yes! Lovely album! Thank you!
Solo on Further On Up The Road (Live)
Any guitar in the hands of a master…. Maybe I’ll get one anyway .
Thank you
I have found Indonesian made guitars to be surprisingly nice.
Currently, I own a Fender Squire Tele and Strat that were inexpensive but very nice to play.
There was only minimal work that needed to be done from a set up standpoint.
This is good news as I refuse to buy Chinese made guitars.
Always love your appreciation of the Blues, thanks!
Yes. And Depends on which factory? Many great made in Korea, made in China too. There are a few choices on those guitar factories.
I like the body and I like the headstock, but they don't really match.
Thank you for sharing!
It's like albert king elicits a whooo haha
Thank you!
This thing is just dorky looking. I liked Albert much better when he was using a Tele....and before he discovered that "out of phase" sound that he has been using exclusively for decades.
Thank you for sharing!
