Hi Maya! This is a UOFT fall'24 student here . Actually I have missed the FLC registration date and now planning for the FYF seminar classes and as you said in your video I really liked the PHY199H1 course and I am planning to take it as a FYF seminar course . But I am confused about the fact that do I need to apply for FYF seminar as well ? I didn't find anything in the website tho.
And also , as you advised to keep a PLAN B for the course enrolment , I am planning to take Astronomy and Physics specialist program so I have taken all the recommended courses that were listed below my program and now if in case I don't get the seats available , what sort of PLAN B I can have in this situation 😭? DO HELP!

Hi! So glad you found this video!
I am not quite sure what you mean by FYF seminar course, but what I can tell you is that seminar style courses are not mandatory; I just think they are a great option to get your breadth requirements done, and can be very interesting!
As for your plan B for course enrolment, I suggest going through the timetable builder website, seeing all the courses offered to first year students that can potentially fit in your timetable and adding them to your enrolment cart on ACORN in case you don't get your first choices - that's how I did it last year. Hope this helps! :)

@@mayasdigitaldiaries Thank youu so muchh Maya for replying! What I meant by the FYF seminar classes is " First Year Foundations Seminars " where we can take 0.5 credit worth courses which lectures have limited students like 24/25 ( at least thats what I understood 🥲) FYF seminar classes are listed among the first year learning opportunities along with FLC and FYF ones programs and unfortunately I missed my FLC registration deadline, so will it cause me a huge drawback of not being able to participate in them?
And as you said for PLAN B I should take all the courses offered to me in first year , what I did is just added all the recommended 4 courses of the specialist program to my cart so are you trying to mean that I should also put in cart all the courses that are listed in slashed forms like MAT137Y1/MAT223Y1 ? Taking them both if in case I miss one ?
